Pure in Heart...

This card is for sketch challenge(SC241)! Thanks, Roxie!!!

I bought some new dp the other day when I was at Micheal's. This is My Mind's Eye Complete Boy paper pad. I almost did not look at it since it was gender specific. I am glad I did because there are a lot of great patterns in there. I think they should have called it something else, though...lol!!!

I am using ODBD newly release Jesus set as well as one of my favorite ODBD sets called Christian Symbols. I stamped my cross and scripture with scarlet jewel and rocked and rolled some dark chocolate ink around the edges. I lightly sponged the sentiment and cross panel with Ranger antique linen ink. I finished my card with some gold pearls, flowers, and sizzix swirls.

I Believe in You! Raspberry Suite 14

This is another card for this week CAS27 challenge! It is also for Dawn's Raspberry Suite #14 color challenge. It also is for CAS2(one button), and CAS 21(sparkle) because I added some touches of sakura gel pen to my flowers.

I feel like I am cheating alittle using all the vintage cream since I went with as little of the other colors as I could. Not that I do not love them, I was just unsure whether I loved them all together before I started. However, I do love the way this card ended up and the colors do work together. It was a long process of redoing several times. One of those moments. I did add some score lines starting and growing alittle closer as they came up the card. I used a corner rounder to soften the card base. I added ribbon, layered with a V cut piece of ribbon accent, and one button with a big bling inside. I also add three little blings in front of the sentiment.

ACCESSORIES

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC28)!!!

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC28)!!! This week Silke Ledlow is our challenge host. Silke is challenging us to score it!!! We are to use any scoring tool we have to create score detailing on our cards. If you do not have any neat scoring device, no fear, scoring can be done with the groove of a trimmer and a bone folder or stylus. Your designs can be very intricate to classically simple. Whatever design you go for, we'd love to see what you create.

I am using Summer Botanicals and Timeless Quote stamp sets. I scored a harlequin diamon pattern to act as a piece of decorative paper for my background. I repeatedly scored an 1/8" vertical on chocolate cardstock to go behind my focal point. I stamped two flowers from the Summer Botanicals set, added a quote and a few tiny touches of rhinestones on the flowers, and some ribbon tabs to complete my clean and simple card. This is a 5 X 7 card. I purchased a pack of envys for this size card at Micheals one day when I had a coupon and could NOT find a thing to buy...I KNOW shoppers logic!!! So, I have a few this size I need to make.

A special note: I must say that I use my Score Pal everytime I make a card if I do nothing but score the fold. It has become one of my most used tools aside from my trimmer. I could never thank Deborah Anton enough for her wonderful generosity. Please read about that story here. Again, thanks Deborah!!!

This card is also for SCS CAS challenge CAS27(bling)! I kept the layout and design pretty simple. It is easier for me to score than it is to sort through all my dp...so that was simple, too. I love how it turned out.

Christmas JOY!

This card is for today's SCS Feature Stamper Challenge (FS131)! Congratulations, Joanne!!! It was hard choosing a card. Here is the one I chose. I love the layout and design of Joanne's card as well as the Christmas theme. I kept the general layout and modified according to my larger size card. I change the colors and went with a little nontraditional colors instead.

I am using Flourishes All that Glitters and Poinsettia Boxwood sets. I stamped my background using one of the pine sprigs from the All that Glitters set in versamark and embossed with transparent kaleidoscope embossing powder. I love the subtle multicolored shimmer. I also used the versamark pad directly to the enchanted evening cardstock and embossed with the same embossing powder to get the rich shimmer for my corner and snowflake punch. I stamped the sentiment JOY in versamark and embossed in gold. I softly sponged the edges of the oval panel with ranger old paper and antique linen inks.

I colored using Flourishes Copic Color Collection in in Sky and Tiger Lily. I used Flourishes Classic White cardstock.I finished my card with satin ribbon and Flourishes Finishing Touches gold slide.

With You...

This card is for today's SCS Inspiration Challenge(IC192). I chose this vase to as my inspiration. This card is also for the BVC09.

I love the variation of the deep red and pink tones in the vase along with some neutral hues. I decided to use some scarlet jewel and soft suede cardstock. To get the sheen of the vase I chose to use some of the DCWV Luxury stack in the pink tones in various tonal patterns. I love the soft sheen of this paper.

I am using ODBD newly release set called Jesus.

I offset layered EK Success border punches at the top and bottom. I have had a few moments with this particular border punch. I think it is sort of too big or something. Anyway, after playing around with it, I decided I like it better layered. It seems to look smaller to me when it is layered. Thought I would share my quarky border punch moment. LOL!!! To finish my card, I added a satin scarlet jewel bow and some pink pearls.

Happy Birthday!

It is good to be up and running again!!! Never fun when the computer crashes!!! Fortunately, we were able to do a recovery thing so that helped a lot!!! Wiped out a bunch of stuff, but it is like getting a new computer.

With that said, here is my Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC27)! card a little late. This week is all about hardware. Check out the link to find out how you can play along. I am using Flourishes Sweet Pea and Sweet Violets sets. I colored it with the Flourishes Copic Color Collection in Violet and Evergreen. I am also using some of the Flourishes cardstock in white, which is wonderful for coloring with copics. I finshed my card with a metal slide from the Flourishes Finishing Touches Collection.

ODBD Release day blog hop!!!

It is release day at ODBD!!! We have some wonderful sets for you this month!!! I am showcasing for you today the new Happy Birthday set. I love this set. The main image is beautiful and wonderful to color. It comes with wonderful Bible scriptures as well as Birthday sentiments.

I colored my flowers with copic markers. I decided to create a frame for my bouquet of flowers today. I used the spellbinders inverted scallops. I like the negative part of this die cut about as much as I like the die cut, itself. It makes cool inside scalloped frames. I used some textured plates for texture as well as the Tim Holtz distressing tool. I add a few little MS butterflies punches. I finished with some organdy ribbon and touches of pearls.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!! Check out these other

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday and SCS Color Challenge!!!

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC26)!!! It is also the last Tuesday of the month so we have a new guest challenge designer with us today. Please give a warm welcome for Deena Perreault(moonrise)!! Deena is challenging us to go monochromatic with our cards. Her challenge stipulations are ONE color or shades of that color along with white or cream cardstock. All supplies and tools are allowed!!! We look forward to see what you do!!!

I decided to make a monochromatic Christmas card with neutrals. I am using Damask, Forest of Trees, and Sleigh Ride sets.

I realized a couple of things about myself while I was making this card. I have a serious obsession with kraft cardstock. Is kraft a color? I find this cardstock works beautifully with every color. It is like kraft is the new black. The card base is actually kraft cardstock. I layered a vintage cream dry embossed cardstock over the top.

For this card, I stamped the damask for the top portion of the background. I used the C1 copic marker to create the shadowed background look for definion and dimension. I stamped my tree in a cream pigment ink and clear embossed, and I used the sentiment from Sleigh Ride. I love stamping cream pigment inks onto kraft and letting it dry naturally or embossing it. Of course, while I was playing around with a layout, I managed to cover up most of my background. I finished my card with some satin ribbon and pearl accents. I love how my monochromatic card looks.

Oh, the second thing I learned about myself....the less color I have on a card the more stuff I think it needs. I used dp, a punch border, layered nesties, texture, sponging, pearls, and ribbon. I hope it does not look too busy.

Certainly, pixie appeal!

I am hosting SCS Color Challenge(CC229) today!!! I chose my color combo from a card I did back in 2005 when pixie pink and apricot appeal were new colors. We are using certainly celery, pixie pink, and apricot appeal.

I am using mostly stamping up on this card. I have not used many SU stamps on a card lately so I figured it was time. Please click on the card to see a close up.
I colored the toile blossom background with copics and I loved the look so much I did not want to cover it up. I decided to add some satin ribbon and a silver style hardware framed sentiment with a little nestie label 4 tucked inside. I used a sentiment from Best Yet set. I added little pearl domes in the corner and called it finished.
What do you think? Please check out this blog post for more card info. Thanks so much!!!
