Favorite Creations 2014 Part 2!

Happy Wednesday and Happy New Year's Eve!    I am back with my Part 2 of My Favorite Creations of 2014.  You can see Favorites 2014 Part 1 here.

While 2014 showcases a design style change for me, it also was  big for me in that it was the first time since 2008 that I did not have design team commitments galore.   I went in search of some stamps to use.   I decided I wanted to venture out a bit.  Try something NEW!  Something DIFFERENT!   Not focus on FLOWERS for EVERY CARD!  Is that possible?  LOL!    I chose to play with some MFT Stamps!    I went a little crazy.  Like a kid in a candy store.  Let's just say I love the stamps and dies.  I fell absolutely head over heels for the Blueprints dies!   If you do not have a set, you must get you some!  I also LOVE the customer service!  Shipping time is amazing, people!    Using MFT stamps and dies reinvigorated my creative process and my LOVE for stamping.  Whenever I would have a stressful school day, I would come home and just create in my crafty space.  It was very therapeutic and freeing.    Using MFT dies also helped me venture away from my comfort zone of using flowers on just about EVERY card!   Not that there is anything wrong with that.  I was just ready for a change.  I actually purchased a few fun whimsical shape dies!  MFT has lots and lots of those.  How fun!

I apologize for this post being fairly long.  I just had a lot of favorites.  Grab a cup and enjoy!  Let me know what you think?

My Favorite Verve Creations of 2014!

Happy Wednesday and Happy New Year's Eve!  I decided to jump in with my favorite card creations for 2014.   This is PART 1 of 2 post for today. Part 1 showcases my favorite Verve Stamps creations of 2014!

This year has been a big change for me when it comes to stamping.   Somewhere a long the way, I decided I wanted to step away from a vintage shabby chic style card to a more clean and simple style.  That is not to say that I did not layer up a CAS style card every once in awhile this year, though.   I had fun embracing this change.

As for my Verve favorites, it was really difficult to choose just a few.  I thought I could do a top 10.....really?  Then, I thought a dozen?  Nope!  I compromised.   My 14 Favorite Verve Stamps Creations of 2014!

Stay tuned for Part 2 of My Favorite Card Creations using other company stamps later today!    Blessings to you and yours for a Wonderful 2015!

As always thanks so much for stopping by!

Friends Like Us

MFT_WSC_208

I have a card to share today.   I am playing along with this week's MFT Weekly Sketch Challenge and Sunday Stamps Color Challenge.

I started with MFT card stock in smooth white, chocolate brown, tropical teal, and banana split.  My card base is 5 x 5 and  chocolate brown.  I inked up the edges using versamark for added depth.  I cut the tropical teal panel using MFT Blueprints 14.  I stamped this panel using MFT Fine Check background stamp using MFT premium tropical teal ink. distressed the edges with versamark to add some shadow and depth.

I used MFT Pierced Oval Stax to cut the smooth white oval.  I then die cut the fox and the squirrel from Cute Critters die namics using Neenah Solar White card stock and stamped the coordinating image from MFT Cute Critters stamp set  in MFT hybrid licorice black ink.  I colored the fox and the squirrel with copics.  I tucked the fox behind the sentiment strip and popped the squirrel up on top for added dimension.

Next, I used the smallest of the Vertical Stitched Strips to die cut the banana split strip.  I stamped this panel with MFT diagonal stripe background stamp.  I then die cut a smooth white piece using Fishtail Flags Stax.  I stamped the sentiment from Friends Like Us stamp set in MFT hybrid licorice black ink.   I  finished the card with a few of Verve's Shine Bright Sequin Mix.

I decided to make an inspirational card.  I am using Verve's Faith Medley, Scripture Medley 3, and Better Together stamp sets.   I combined these sets along with Carta Bellas Summer Lovin' dp.   The colors were perfect for the color combo.  I stamped the scripture from Faith Medley in hybrid black licorice ink.  I stamped the cross from Scripture Medley 3 in versa mark over the scripture using simply chartreuse ink.     I used Verve's Cut Above Flag It die set  for the little flag ends.  I die cut twice and stamped the coral pink paper with the dotted image from Better Together stamp set for the look of some added texture.  I finished the card with a yellow button with an ombre coral embroidery floss bow.

PTI December 2014 Blog Hop!

Silver & gold 1
I am popping in with a card.  I am playing along with this month's PTI December 2014 Blog Hop!   This month's theme is gold and silver!  I just love gold and silver with some black!

I started with pure black base and stamped versa mark all the way around and clear embossed.  I love the black lacquered look finish it gives to set off the shimmer of the silver and gold brushed card stock.  I used the Phrase Play #1 die. I die cut it with brushed gold card stock and filled it in with brushed silver card stock.  For the sentiment I die cut the frame again in pure black card stock.  I white embossed the sentiment.    Then, to keep with the black lacquered base, I stamped versa mark over and clear embossed.  I popped this frame up with foam tape.  I added some white threading for contrast and to add some whimsy.  I finished with some silver sequins.

I am playing along with Stampin' Celebrate Challenge, too!

As always thanks so much for hopping by!
