February PTI Blog Hop!

Happy Thursday!   I am playing along with this month's

The first thing I thought of when I saw the inspiration photo was that sure is a lot of greens!  I love green!  Green is actually my favorite color.
  Here is the inspiration photo.

I really love the different hues of greens in this photo.  I decided to work with that first.  I watercolored some shades of greens from distress inks onto watercolored paper.  I heat set it to make sure it was completely dry.  I stamped and clear embossed the sentiment from Tulip Time.

I tried the techniques Jennifer McGuire showcased HERE the other day doing watercolor lifting.  I really LOVE the look and effect.  To emphasize all of the circle elements in the photo,  I die cut this panel using Scene It: Basic Backer die and popped it up on some foam tape with some loose threading circling behind.  I really love the variations of greens and nuances of the watercolor lifting.  A great technique!

Next, I die cut and stamped the Peonies on Parade flowers and leaves onto watercolored paper and white heat embossed.  I colored with some Ranger Distress inks.   I made sure to use some different tones on the leaves than I did on focal circle to play off of the different hues of greens in photo.I popped the flower up with some foam tape.  I tucked in the leaves.  I finished my card with a few clear sequins.

As always thanks so much for hopping by!

Happy Birthday!

Happy Sunday!  I finally had a chance to get crafty yesterday once my new PTI goodies arrived in the mail.  Once I saw the Out For Delivery on the USPS tracking, I rushed to get all   most  some of my house cleaning done so I could play once my package arrived.

I decided to play with the tulips first.  I must say that I am loving this set!  I am playing along with a couple of blog challenges so the tulips worked beautifully.   I die cut and stamped the tulips using corals and golds to comply with the Inspired By All the Little Things: Inspiration Photo.  I gold embossed the sentiment.   I added a piece of gold foiled card stock to the bottom of the panel using Scallop Square Tag to comply with this week's Freshly Made Sketches.

I still felt like the tulips needed a little something to help them pop off of the white linen background.  I decided to gold emboss three times the smaller Feather Finery dotted images.  I love how the images peek out from the tulips.  I think it balances the whole card perfectly. I used some fun foam to pop up the white linen panel onto a vintage cream card base to look more like the cake layers.

Happy Birthday to a Very Special You!

Happy Saturday!  I am popping in with a card to share.  I am playing along with a few blog challenges today.  The first challenge is for Papertrey's MIM Customizing Pattern Paper.  I chose to use PTI's Black and White ALL Over paper pad.   I added some color using PTI Watercolor Wonder stamp set to the horizontal black lines of the patterned paper.

I used MFT inks in ripe raspberry, persimmon, daffodil, and blu raspberry for the watercolored lines and sentiment stamping.  For the focal sentiment, I die cut Birthday Cheer die set using gold foiled card stock and layered with some true black and ripe raspberry card stock for added thickness.  I finished with a few sequins.   I chose to use the sketch from this week's CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge.

I am also playing along with AAA Cards: Sequins

Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge - All Boy!

It's time for a new Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge!

The LEAD of this challenge will be invited to be a guest designer in an upcoming challenge!

For my card, I am using MFT Stamps Products.  I started with a smooth white card base.  I die cut Lush Lagoon card stock using Blueprints 13.  I stamped this panel with the diagonal background stamp.  I die cut a pierced tag.  I stamped the tag with a sentiment from Level Up stamp set in black hybrid ink.   I die cut orange fizz using Inside & Out Stitched Squares.  I assembled the small game controller from MFT Game Controller die namics.  After assembling all of the tiny pieces, I stamped the entire top with versamark and clear embossed.

I die cut an arrow with some electric red card stock using the Blueprints 13 again.  I white embossed the sentiment from same Level Up stamp set.  I punched a whole in the tag and added some black and white twine.

Make sure you visit each of the designers' blogs for more inspiration!

I am playing along with MFT Weekly Sketch Challenge and  Just Us Girls Add a Tag Challenge.

Make A Wish and Such a Joy!

I am popping in with two more cards to share todayI am playing along with Papertrey Inks 9th Anniversary Celebrations.   For this first card I am playing along with a couple of other blog challenges as well.

My first card is for PTI Challenge Day 10.  Papercrafting Alphabet.  I love the cool chart.  Definitely want to play with it again

I went with the first three letters of my first name. B-E-T.  Sentiment on a banner.....my die cut words are on the Outline Banner frames embossed images.  E-  Emboss Resist.  I heat embossed the frames and did a watercolor resist.  T - is to tie one on.  I looped up some loose threading.

I finished this card with some sequins and it was done.    I am playing along with this week's The Paper Players Color Challenge, CASE(E) this Sketch , and Simon Wednesday Challenge One Layer.

My second card is for PTI Challenge Day 8. Color Pop Floral Challenge!   What a fun walk down memory lane with this game!  My colors are simply chartreuse, royal velvet, and spring rain.  I picked 5 and 4 for April.

I die cut and stamped the flower outlines from Vintage Linens using white linen card stock.  For the insides of the flowers, I inked the stamp, spritzed with water, then stamped. I did the same with the leaves.  For the focal point, I die cut the sentiment page from Black and White All Over pattern paper pad using the stitchable rectangle die.  I also used another pattern from the pack on the side.  I impressed the spring blue with the distressed impressions plate for a soft distressed texture.  I finished with some sequins.

Happy Birthday and Thanks, You Rule!

Happy Friday, again!  I am back with two more cards to share todayI am playing along with Papertrey Inks 9th Anniversary Celebrations.

My first card is for PTI Create Along With Us Challenge.

I chose this card by Amy Sheffer HERE
to CASE.

I tried to recreate the look of  Amy's cardI used PTI One Big Happy stamp set.  I die cut the two main flowers and used the negative card stock as a stencil to sponge some white pigment ink(TIP:  Instead of actual circular sponging motions
I prefer to pounce the blender tool in order to get a more prominent white image on the aqua mist card stock).  Next, I used Twig Wreath set center images to stamp the turquoise flower centers.

Amy actually used paste to stencil the white smaller flowers onto the card.  Truly beautiful!  However, I am working on completing all of the Anniversary week challenges.  I do not have the time to wait watch paste dry....lol!   I chose instead to die cut the tiny flower die in One Big Happy several times.  I stamped the centers with the tiny flowers.  Like Amy I did use a black marker to add the tiny black dots.

I die cut and layered the "happy"  four times.  I added the sentiment underneath from same set.  Since I did not have any white linen thread, I layered regular white quilting thread several times and tied a bow.  I found it very challenging not to add a sequin at this point.

My second card is for PTI Challenge Day 3. Grab & Craft Challenge!

I recently purchased some pratically new PTI goodies from the PTI Forum For Sale Thread, so I grabbed that stash first because I am determined to always use what I buy.

Simply Framed
Layered Banner Banter and die
Building Blocks
Then, I grabbed Be Mine, Valentine
I just love all of the images and possibilities with this set.
I was leaning toward the ruler so I grabbed the
Spiral Notebook Page die

This notecard measures 3 1/4 X 2 7/8
It came together fairly quickly.  I ended up using the outline rectangle image from the Building Blocks set to create the lines on the notebook page.   With the school theme, I thought the chalkboard sentiment panel would work perfectly.  Again, not a single sequin on this card.  The struggle is REAL!
