July Papertrey Ink Blog Hop!

Happy Tuesday!   I am playing along with this month's PTI Blog Hop Challenge!  I am popping in late in the day for this one.  I guess better late than never on this challenge.

For my card I played off of the color of the background and florals.   I used PTI white linen.  I used spring rain and direct inked the white linen to get a textural rich colored background.  I die cut it with the Mix and Mat Herringbone die.

I added the bleeding hearts flowers from Humming Along.  I mixed colors of PTI inks to play along with the soft muted tones in the inspiration picture.  I added the sentiment using PTI Pen and Ink set.  I started with Spring Rain ink.  It did not have enough of a pop so I stamped it with Blueberry Sky.  I love the richness it adds, plus it mimics the ink tones in the inspiration as well.

To finish the card I die cut the photo corners in gold foil card stock for a pop of gold as well as to play off of the touches of gold in the photo.  I layered this panel with a popped up white linen panel for subtle texture to a stampers select card base.

As always thanks so much for hopping by!

Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge: Surf's Up!

It's time for a new Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge!

The LEAD of this challenge will be invited to be a guest designer in an upcoming challenge!

For my card I decided to create a little scene playing off of the colors of the surfboards and theme.  I started with PTI Mix and Mat Pretty Brackets.  I die cut three shades of blues.  I inlaid the colors starting with the darkest blue at the bottom and working to lightest color to create the look of ocean water and depth.

I stamped, copic colored, and die cut three fish from the Keep Swimming stamp set.  I used some foam tape to pop up the fish.  I stamped the sentiment from the same set onto a strip of stampers select white card stock.  I cut a fishtail in one end and attached with two tiny stamples at the other end.

I scored the kraft card base.  I added the focal frame using some foam tape.  I finished my card with a few clear sequins.

Day 4 - Verve's July Release Spotlight Hops!

Welcome back to Day 4 of Verve's July Release Spotlight Hops!  It's an exciting day as there's new Verve in the store this morning! Three beautiful new sets and coordinating die sets just released and they're all available in the shop right now. To celebrate our new release, we're putting on another blog hop with a fabulous giveaway!

Today's featured focus is designer's choice, so you might just sneak a peek at a whole bunch of must-haves!

If you got here from  Maureen's blog you are in the right place!

I chose to use the new Always Time stamp set and coordinating Kettle Time Die Set.   I just love the "Relax and Enjoy" sentiment since it is summertime and I am out of school.  While a lot of these sets focus on coffee,  not all coffees are hot!  To me nothing says relaxation like a body of cool refreshing water with and a decaf iced cold flavored coffee in hand.

I chose to use watercolor smooshing technique.  I chose shades of blue for my card to focus on cool refreshing water.  I heat embossed the sentiment in white.  I added the stamped and die cut coffee mugs at the bottom.

I popped everything up onto a scored background that I added direct to paper some versamark swipes for some added dimension.  I finished my card with some clear sequins.

Want to win some shiny new Verve? Today's prize is a BIG one. We'll be picking a random commenter on one of the hop spots below to win our ENTIRE new release! For my card I started with some fun summertime papers  with pretty patterns and colors.

Next, I stamped the wonderful sentiment along with the sunrise and fluffy cloud image using Versafine Onyx Black ink.

I added some wink of stella to the cloud and sun for a touch of shine. I thought about adding some sequins, but decided I love the card just like it is.

This is another great set!  I love the different ways you can mix and match the sentiments.  This is a great card for a friend or love one who you meet for coffee and good conversation as frequently as possible.

For my card I chose to combine these two sentiments.  I mixed some pattern papers with a fun layout and started stamping. I used some enchanted evening ink to try to match the blue in the background pattern.

I added the stamped die cut pattern mug to the top of the pile so to speak for some added fun!  I finished with a few clear sequins.

Day 1 - Verve's July Release Spotlight Hops!

Verve Stamps November 2016 Spotlight Hops

Welcome to Verve's July Release Spotlight Hops! A new release is just around the corner and for the next few days we'll be shining our creative spotlights on the new Verve sets and dies releasing Monday, July 10.
Today the Divas and special guests are sharing inspiration featuring the new Always Time stamp set and coordinating Kettle Time Die Set. Check out the Verve Blog post today for the full hop list, prize details, reveals and a little more on this fun new set.

If you got here from  Maureen's blog you are in the right place!

I just love this set.  It is so perfect for many situations.  I started wtih a plain white base and a patterned background.  I chose to stamp and die cut the teapot and a flower cluster from the set.

I colored each with Copic markers.  I lightly sponged the background in a soft yellow.  I added some foam dimensionals to pop up each image.

I fell in love with this sweet sentiment.  A great one for a coworker or friend who has to endure long hours at the office to get a project completed.  A great pick-me-up  motivational card with the added bonus of a cup of tea or coffee in hand, of course.  I finished my card with a tiny touch of bling on the flower.

Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge: Red, White, and Blue!

It's time for a new Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge!

The LEAD of this challenge will be invited to be a guest designer in an upcoming challenge!

I am back!  I have most of my stuff moved into the new home.  My craft room is mostly set up. Still trying to tweak the layout, lighting, and supplies, but I feel that is an ongoing process anyway.  I still have a lot to get situated with the rest of the home, but it feels good to get back to crafting.

For my card I used some PTI striped linen pattern paper.  I used the frame portion of the Mix and Mat Herringbone die.  I stamped the scripture from Year of Psalms June using Enchanted Evening ink.  I added the trees and water images  by stamping off Spring Rain ink a few times for a soft shadow background.  I added foam tape for added dimension. I finished my card with a few clear sequins.

Make sure you visit each of the designers' blogs
for more inspiration!
