Because I Care, Free For All, and a Queen!

Congratulations, Fran! WooHoo! Totally deserving to be SCS Queen for the Day(QFTD20)! Here is the card of Fran's I chose to CASE!

I added a double row of ribbon to my card and a ticket punch sentiment. I also combined this challenge with today's SCS Free For All(F4A23)! I added a border edge below to the center panel for my side-swipe detail! Thanks, Bev for a fun challenge!

For my card, I inked the leaves of the flower only in always artichoke.  I stamped off once.  I then inked the whole flower in Palette pink toile and sort of rocked and rolled with hibiscus burst.  I then stamped the whole flower onto the Flourishes Classic White cardstock.  Stamping off the artichoke first gave me a softer artichoke color in the leaves that does not overpower the soft pink hues.  I softly sponged the white focal image and crumb cake cardstocks with Memento Sand inks.

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC77) and CC281!

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC77)! It is the end of the month so we have a challenge host. This month's host is Emily Keaton. Emily is challenging us to use Pins! All kinds of pins will do. Think stick pins, hat pins, safety pins, straight pins, diaper pins, even mini clothes pins or a brooch-style pin. We would love to see what you create!

This card is also for SCS Color Combo Challenge (CC281)!  It is all about Crushed Daffodil Pizzazz!   For my card I am using Flourishes Coffee with Friends stamp set.  I focused on one of the quotes in the set and used a coffee cup die cuts as little accent charms.  I stamped these using versamark and one of the steaming images that come in the set.  I  added a little flower punch with tiny gold pearl to one.  I created a sort of layered awning with my large scallop die cut and some designer papers, ribbons, pearls...etc!

Check out the other blog team designers to see what they created PINS!

Papertrey Ink July Blog Hop!

My first Papertrey Ink Blog Hop!  WooHoo!  I tried to play last month, but we decided to go out of town and I would not have been able to hop so I did not post.  I am so thrilled to hop along this month!   For this month's office theme, I chose paper clips(corners), rubber bands(tiny cuttings to tie around paper clips), and cork.  I also thought the eyelet lace edge diecut could look like hole reinforcers, so I made a border out of cork and used one to top off my button.   Cork is fun to play with.   The holes cut from the eyelet lace border look like regular sized hole punches so I used those behind the little silver pearls on the center rectangle corners.

I am using All Booked Up, Masculine Motifs (leafy background and sentiment), and Distressed Stripes(plaid background).  I also used the tiniest leaf from the Turning a New Leaf set to stamp in between the melon berry leaves with a softer versamark leaf.   As for tools, I used the Linen and Canvas Impressions plate, Mat Stack 3, and Eyelet Lace border die cuts!  I used my favorite color combo and added the new harvest gold!

*************
I also wanted to share with you the card I made for last month's hop.   Last month's theme was favorite PTI color combo!  My favorite combo is scarlet jewel, melon berry and kraft.
This card is very CAS for me!   It uses my "go to" set Turning a New Leaf.  And, I used my favorite Linen and Canvas impressions plate.  I do love the simplicity of this card, though!  The little edge at the top left is the edge of one of the Beautiful Blooms II flowers sticking out.  I think the one is cute; however, a whole row would make a fabulous border, too!

Thanks so much for hopping by!

It is time for Stamping In Time on Assignment Challenge(SNTODBD14)! The assignment is ODBD stamps. The challenge is paper piercing! You can go simple or very ornate with our Ornare or Ectasy piercing templates! Choose your style and add some piercing to your card or project. We would love to see what you create!

For my card, I am using ODBD  Amazing Grace Hymn, Scripture Collection 3, and Vine Works stamp sets.    I stamped the vine works frame and used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to perfectly place my scripture inside the frame.   I used one of the ornare piercing templates, piercing tools, and piercing pad.  I layered a long rectangle spellbinders nestabilities with the vine works frame. More details at my blog post.    Check out the other ODBD designers' links to see what they created with paper piercing!

The Shabby Tea Room (TSTR19)!  is having an inspiration challenge this week.  The photo is a double layered wreath design.  Now, I went with more muted colors for my card, but I really loved the double layered effect.  I also rolled the edges of my scallops to create more dimension.
Fussy and Fancy Challenge15  This week is all about Stitches, Scallops, and Sparkle! I thought I could go more sparkly than the gold pearls, but I thought since I added so many these were sparkly enough.

First of all, who does NOT love some stainglass?  Combine the Beauty Within stamp set with a Spellbinder's Labels ELEVEN nestabilities and you have a perfect match!  And, this is only one of the images in the set.  Fabulous detailing and still easy to cut out and pop up!  I layered another Spellbinder's die cut with the Labels Eleven to create more drama so to speak.  I added a SU texture background and softly sponge the edges of all the white cardstock with Memento Sand Ink.  This ink color is amazing for giving a vintage edge without looking muddy.  As always, I am using Flourishes Classic Cardstock in white today.  I also colored my image with Flourishes Copic Color Collections!

Check out the other blog team designers to see what they created with the inspiration picture!

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC74)! Maki Jones is our challenge host this week. Maki is getting us all in gear with a theme challenge. We are celebrating Christmas in July! No explanation necessary for this theme. Just have fun and make something festive! While Flourishes stamps are not required, if you have them, by all means use them! We would love to see what you create.

For my card I am using Flourishes  All That Glitters for the outside and Christmas Wreath for the sentiments on the inside.  Flourishes also has a monthly Christmas Spirit Challenge(FLLCNOEL3) monthly at our SCS Forum.  This month's is for a song!  Mine is "Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas!"      In addition to the Flourishes challenges, this card is also for a few other challenges.  It is for today's SCS Color Combo Challenge(CC278)!  Baja Razzleberry Saffrons!  So rich and decadent these hues!  A little different from your standard Christmas colors, but I think they totally work!  Check out the link to find out how to play and about the dessert option!

I stamped and embossed the ornaments and sponged colored with like inks.  One ornament is embossed in white the other in gold.  I cut out and added dimensionals to create depth.  I used some gold cording, gold pearls, crystal effects, cb ef, and texturz plates.  Along with some satin ribbon, Spellbinders, and Prima flowers.  Flourishes classic ivory cardstock!  I used SU so saffron, rich razzleberry, and baja breezes cardstocks.  SU flower punch, glue dots, dimensionals, and so dimension tape.

*****************************************************
I just have to share a Moment with Colors with you!  While I gravate to all companies who sell cardstock and do not mind using various brands provided they meet my standard for cardstock in general.  I do have issues with some inks.  Not all inks work beautifully with clear stamps.  Saying this, I would like to mention that NOT all clear stamps are created equal, either.  At Flourishes only the highest quality of photopolymer is used.  If you have been disappointed in clear stamps in the past there could be two reasons why.  One, not all companies use photopolymer. And, two, the ink.  Many rubber inks do not work with clear stamps.  For example, while I love Stampin Up cardstocks, their ink does NOT work with clear stamps.  Alternate inks must be used.  I have combined a little chart for myself that I thought I would share with you all to aid in buying alternate inks.  I have listed some of the new and returning favorites of SU cardstock colors that I happen to have coordinating ink pads for.  There are several more that I need to get and I will share when I know which ones work/coordinate.  I would like to mention that there may be other inks that match, but these are the ones that I have.  You can click on the picture to make it larger and easier to read.  Please let me know if this Moments with Colors post has been helpful to you in any way!  Thanks so much!  I am using one of the solid images in  the Flourishes Thinking of You set to stamp the ink color that coordinates closely to the cardstock.

Starting at the top left----all these inks listed are currently available at Flourishes!
Marina Mist= Ranger Stormy Sky (perfect match to me)
Pacific Point= Memento Bahama Blue (perfect match to me)
Pear Pizzazz= Memento New Sprout (perfect match to me)
Cherry Cobbler= Memento Rhubarb Stalk  (very close...maybe slightly lighter)
Riding Hood Red= Memento Rhubarb Stalk (very close)
Poppy Parade= Memento Lady Bug (perfect match to me)
Early Expresso= Memento Rich Cocoa (perfect match to me)
Peach Parfait=Ranger Dried Marigold (reinker available) (perfect match to me)

Unity Friends with Flair! Shabby Tea Room#16 and Midnight Madness(MMSC60)!

This card is for today's Unity's Friends with Flair!   I had a little bit of time to stamp once I got home from the movies.  I went to see the latest Twilight movie last night with a group of people.  It was fabulous!  I was alittle wired to say the least.  I came home and whipped up a couple of cards.  For both of my cards I am using Unity's Ippity stamp set called The Simple Things.  I am using the same sentiment on both.   I chose to use two of the three stemmed images that come in this set.    I am using October Afternoon Thrift Store on the first one and Memory Box Jubilee on the second card.

I decided to combine my cards with The Shabby Tea Rooms Week #16  color challenge.  To use some turquoise, pink, and bright green.  Both cards use these colors, but the patterns and ratios of colors are quite different.  The top one uses more muted turquoise and pink and less green, while the second one uses more bright green, turquoise, and touches of pink on the leaves.  I am also using the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge(MMSC60) for both cards.

Unity Flair!

I have the Unity Friends with Flair Blinkie!  WooHoo!  You found it!  Leave a comment and I will pick one winner and announce here on my blog tomorrow morning and at the SCS Unity Friends with Flair thread who won.  Edited with Winner Information:  The winner is Chriss Blagrave!  Congrats, Chriss.  Please email Jimmi at jimmi.mayo@gmail.com.

As always, thanks so much for stopping by!
