ODBD Sneaky Peek, Color Throwdown, and MORE!

Happy Wednesday, everyone!   It is time for another fun trio of colors.  I have a card to share today along with the other girls from The Color Throwdown  using this week's colors!   Barbara is the challenge host this week.  We would love to see what you create!  I would like to thank all of The Color Throwdown designers for having me guest design for the month!  Thanks so much!

For my card I am using two ODBD sets to be released on Friday.  The sets are Sweet William and Large Scrapbook Words.  The Sweet William flower coordinates with Spellbinder's Blossom 3.

I stamped the flowers and die cut.  I colored with copics and added some glitter.  Actually, I added quite a bit of glitter to the front flower.  It is really sparkly in real life.  To add some leaves I looped some green ribbon.  I added a sentiment using one of the large scrapbook words.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Please check out The Color Throwdown designers to see what they created with these colors!

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC124)!

Happy Tuesday! It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC124)!   Tammy Hershberger is the challenge host this week.  She has designed a sketch for us this week.  Looking forward to seeing what you create!

I decided to go all vintage with my card today.  Vintage with a fun pair of shoes.  I just love shoes!   The sentiment says "Fit for a Princess!"   I am using Flourishes Lace Edges and Make a Wish  stamp sets.  I stamped the background paper(dp by ME) used on the top section of the card with one of the lace edges stamps with Ranger walnut stain ink. I altered it a bit with a script and worn edge image to give it a more vintage feel.   The lower half striped dp was altered a touch with the same script and worn image stamp.  I stamped the shoes with Memento cocoa ink onto Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock   I colored with Flourishes Copic Color Collection.   I used the Quickie glue pen to added different colors of glitter.  I layered a couple of Spellbinder's.  I finished with  a seam binding bow and sentiment tag!

Viva La Verve: Birthday Wishes, Thank You, and Friendship!

I spent almost all day in my craft room trying to find my mojo! I have been in a stamping slump and I figured the best cure was to surround myself with stamps, ink, and paper!   I started with some VERVE, some VLV Sketches and a stack of MME paper collections.

I am using Viva La Verve's Week 2 sketch by Andrea Ewen. Great sketch, Andrea! There is still time to play for June! Check out the link in the SCS Forum Thread!
I am using Verve Amazing Wishes and Bloom and Grow stamp sets.  I combined this set with some MME  Stella Rose Hattie Collection.  I stamped the larger flower in the set directly to the paper with Memento black ink and cut out.  I used Verve Vintage Oval die  for the sentiment.  I die Elegant Leaves and stamped the leafy image from Bloom and Grow offset a bit so the designer paper would show more.  I then embossed it and sanded a bit.  I inked distressed for add dimension.

Stamps: Verve Amazing Wishes
Paper: Flourishes Classic Ivory, MME designer paper
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, PTI enchanted evening, chai
Accessories: Spellbinders Label 18, embossed oval, lacey oval, cuttlebug embossing folder, sanding block, sewing machine for paper piercing, PTI linen buttons, gold pearls, cream seam binding, PTI banner border dies, Verve Vintage Oval die and Elegant Leaves

For this card I am using Verve's Bloom and Grow and Dream Big stamp sets.  I combined this set with MME So Sophie Savvy collection and VLV Week 1 sketch.  AmberDawn is this week's host.  Awesome sketch, Dawn!  I sort of turned the sketch upsidedown. Quite by accident I must say.

I stamped the leafy image from the set.  I then die cut two of the largest dies from the Verve Floral circle dies.  I stamped the medium flower from the Dream Big set.  While this die is not designed to work with this die, I still love this look.  I stamped one of the smallest images from the Bloom and Grow set with Hawaiian shores ink into the center.  I scored the flowers and accordian fold and combined the two onto a circle to create a cool scrunchy die cut flower look.  I added some sparkle and finished it with a gold metalic dew drop.  I added some light green touches of glitter to the stamp leaf image and punched out two tiny MS hydrangea flowers to add for extra touches of red to the leaf.  I added tiny gold pearls to the center to complete the look.  I stamped directly to the paper a sentiment from the Dream Big set.

Stamps: Verve Bloom and Grow and Dream Big
Paper:  MME, Flourishes Classic Ivory
Ink:  PTI ripe avocado, Memento black, PTI chamoille
Accessories: sewing machine, Verve floral circle dies, MS punch, cream seam binding, button, May Arts ivory twine, gold pearls, stampendous glitter, glue pen, gold metalic dew drop

For this card, I am using Verve's Texted Objects.  I combined this set with VLV Week 4 sketch and  MME Quite Contrary Jack and Jill Favorite Thing collection.  Teresa Kline is this week's sketch host. Thanks, Teresa!  Fun sketch!  I stamped the sentiment and little sailboat in Memento black ink.  I colored the little sailboat with copics.  I added a ribbon tab with button and topped it off with a sparkly heart button.  I finished with some coordinating twine.  I kept this card pretty simple.  A little distressing, sewing, sponging, and coloring!  A fun card!

Stamps: Verve Text Objects
Paper: Flourishes Classic Ivory, MME
Ink:  Memento black, PTI spring moss, chai
Accessories:  Spellbinders, nestabilities, twine, PTI aqua mist double stitched ribbon and button, glitter heart button(stash), copics, sponges, glue dots, foam tape, dimensionals,  Verve Elegant Oval die

Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC123) CC328, and MORE!

Happy Tuesday! It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC123)! I am your FTTC host this week. This week my pick for a challenge is "In the Bag!" Or, I guess I should say "With the Bag!"  Use brown grocery bag paper on your card or project. You can use a brown lunch bag to create a gift item or small scrapbook album. Or, you can use sections of the bag to create a background, border, or accent piece for your card or project. Never fear, though.  If you do not have any brown grocery bag paper to play with, kraft cardstock will work, too!  We want everyone who wants to play along to be able to play with us!  Looking forward to seeing what you create!

For my card, I am using Flourishes Cherries and Peaches stamp sets. I am using Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock. I layered a couple of Spellbinder's.  My background paper was created cutting a section of brown paper bag to size.  I embossed, stitched, and inked distressed the edges.  I stamped my cherries and colored with Flourishes Copic Color Collection.   I finished with  a seam binding bow, button, and sentiment tag!

This card is  also for today's SCS Color Combo Challenge(CC328)! Cherry Night Cakes! We are using Cherry Cobbler, Night of Navy, and Crumb Cakes. You must check out the link to find out what the dessert option and to play along with us!  This card is also for The Kraft Journal: Welcome Summer Challenge!

Stamping In Time Challenge(SNTODBD37)!

It is time for  ODBD Stamping In Time: On Assignment Challenge(SNTODBD37)! The assignment is to use Our Daily Bread Design stamps. The challenge this rotation is  DP by Me!  Use ODBD images to create your own background papers.  ODBD background stamps are okay!  Just make sure you have at least one panel that was totally stamped with ODBD images to create the paper. Remember, the more you play the more you increase your chance to win! We look forward to seeing what you create using ODBD stamps!

For my card I am using ODBD  Bird Border and Corners, Bird Butterfly Labels, and  Mini Tags 3.   The background "dp by me"  was stamped with the smallest of the images from the Bird Border and Corner sets several times.  I inked the edges.  I then embossed the panel.  I added SU en francaise background over the top.  Since the panel is very textured, only portions of the script stamp show which I think creates a cool look.  I finished with my layered sentiment panel label and seam binding bow.

Please check out the sample made my the guest designer this rotation.

Because of You! Color Throwdown145, Mojo, and MORE!

Happy Wednesday, everyone!   I have a card to share today along with the other girls from The Color Throwdown  using this week's color trio!  Carole chose the colors this week!  Love this wonderful trio!  We would love to see what you create!

For my card I am using Verve's Just for You stamp set.  This set is one of "For the Boys" sets that are on sale now at Verve.  I am using the sketch from Mojo Monday194.     I used a few different patterns from My Mind's Eye designer paper.  I tried to pick some manly patterns to create a more of a guy card with these colors.  I kept the details fairly simple in keeping with guy card.  I stitched around the cut background strips and added some gingham half circles to create the scalloped edge.  I layered a lacey edge circle spellbinders.  I softly sponged Ranger straw ink inside the circle.  I finished with a dyed seam binding bow and a few gold pearls.  While there is a big bow, I hope it still works for a man card.

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC121)!

Happy Tuesday! It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC121)!  Silke is the challenge host this week.  Silke is challenging us to create a Father's Day card.   We would love to see what you create!

For my card I am using Flourishes Antique Map, Beach Life, and A Guiding Light stamp sets.   I am using Flourishes Classic ivory cardstock.  My bottom layer is expresso and I textured it with a sizzix plate.  I paper pierced the edges with the sewing machine without thread, and I distressed the edges with a ranger distressing tool.   I stamped the antique map and sponged the sides with Ranger vintage photo ink. I distressed the edges.   I wrapped the mapped panel with the expresso textured section behind the map several times with ivory twine and topped with sentiment tag and button.  The palm tree image was inked with Memento cocoa and ripe avocado inks.  I sponged the edges of this panel with vintage photo ink as well.  I backed it with expresso cardstock and foam dots to make it pop a bit.  I added a few gold pearls to mimic some coconuts and to add some detailing in the corners.  I lightly stamped a script font over the main image with some Ranger antique linen and touches of the map panel.  For the most part, I kept my Father's Day card pretty simple.
