PTI November Blog Hop!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday weekend! We had family in from Atlanta.  I cooked for 19 people on Thursday!  Whew!  Fun times, but I was exhausted!   While I am not one to Black Friday shop, I did enjoy the luxury of some online deals and shopping while sitting in the comfort of my on home on Friday.  It has been a very busy few days.  Anyway, I decided to take a few moments to make a card for PTI monthly Blog Hop before I start decorating my Christmas tree!

This month's challenge is Cover Art.  I chose this book cover from the selection as my inspiration piece.

Once I saw all the colors in this cover I knew I had to recreate the bold color layout and PTI harlequin cover plate die and matching harlequin stamps would give me the look I wanted for this cover.

I started with thing big favorites #5.  I stamped the Thank You in new leaf ink.  I then found a sentiment from Masculine Motifs set that worked perfectly stamped in red beneath title in keeping with cover layout.  To keep the colors bold, I stamped on colored card stock.  I used poppy, hawaiian shores, harvest gold, and new leaf.  I varied stamping either in like colors on some card stocks or mixing it up and stamping hawaiian on new leaf, or poppy on harvest gold.  Once the harlequin die template was removed it was the perfect amount of white space left.  Love it!

I finished my card with a kraft base.  It just seemed to make the front of the card pop even more.

As always thanks so much for hopping by!

I need a few more Christmas cards so here goes another one checked off the list!  Woo Hoo!   I am using the sketch from Fab Friday Sketches!  I am using some stamps from WPlus9 and PTI.  I created a CAS style card in keeping with the look of the sketch.  I wanted to use teal and the color combo just sort of took off from there.

Next on the hop is  Julie's blog.  Enjoy!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Joycelyn is the host for November!
This week's challenge is all about a BIG BOWMake a creation with a BOW and you are good to go!

For my card, I am using some PTI stamps and dies.   I stamped the background and used bits and pieces of sentiments to create this larger one.  I am also playing along with Papertrey's weekly Make it Monday Challenge this week which is to layer vellum.   I layered the stars and also layered vellum behind the blessed die cut to create a subtle shadow effect. I am using Retro Sketch #38.  I did add a big bow!

I made a gift box  full of ODBD stamps. I thought this was a great way to give the gift of ODBD stamps for Christmas.  For this package, I am using ODBD Worship the Lord stamp set.

I designed the base of the box which measures 4 inches high and 5 inches wide.   I ink distressed all visible edges.  I covered the backs and sides with designer papers.  I cut out a half circle in front.   For the flap, I used a 5 inch wide piece of card stock. I scored this panel at the 5 inch and 6 inch mark.  I cut off 1.5 inches in the front and used the Spellbinder's Grand Circle Scallops to create a scallop lid and a scalloped back.  The back was attached and the top was fold over and around the top.  I added a piece of designer paper to the top portion of the front.  I finished with a piece of ribbon with layered die cut sentiment, and gold pearls.  This gift package can house up to 4 ODBD stamp sets!  Got to love that!

Merry & Bright JOY!

Happy Tuesday!  I have a Christmas card to share with you today.  After completing this card, it occurred to me that it does not use any stampsNot sure how I managed that one.

Today's card uses some new stuff.  Everyone once in awhile I get into a stamping funk so to speak.  I feel like I need something to sort of jump start my creativity. To boost my Mojo!   I found that buying something new and stamping just for me is just what the doctor ordered.   For this card, I am using some new dies I ordered from WPlus 9 Design Studio.  I was so impressed with these that I ordered a few stamps as well.  Cannot wait to get those and play.

For this Christmas card,  I am using one of the WPlus 9 Design Studio Seasonal Sentiment dies with a snowflake die.  I have this thing lately with die cut words.  I think they look awesome!  I combined Joy die with snowflake and layered star dies.  I added some tinsel glitter to one.  I used some patterned paper, stitched the frame, and finished with a twine bow with a little snowflake and heart die that comes with the Seasonal Sentiments word dies.  Too fun and super quick!  Thought I would share!

As always thanks so much for stopping by!

ODBD Feature Focus Peace on Earth!

Happy Monday!  Today, some of the ODBD designers are showcasing ODBD Exclusive Spellbinders "Elegant Ovals" Die set.

I am using ODBD Elegant Ovals Spellbinders dies.  I combined ODBD Elegant Oval, Christmas Mini, and Vine Background for my card.

I chose colors of red and cream for my Christmas card.  I stamped the Vine Background onto the red with Memento Rhubarb Red.  I stamped each die with the coordinationg Elegant Oval frame in rhubarb.  I lightly stamped the Vine Background using a stamped off linen color to two of the elegant oval frames that I layered behind the focal frame.  I stamped the focal frame with one of the sentiments from Christmas Mini.  All of the die cut frames are popped up for added dimension.   I finished with a few gold pearls and seam binding bow topped  with button and curly ques bow.

O Christmas Tree Tag! C4C and More!

Happy Saturday, everyone!  It is time for another challenge with the crazies at Crazy 4 Challenges(C4C163).

Joycelyn is the host for November!
This week's challenge is all about TAGS!  Add a tag to a card or create a tag!

For my card, I am using Verve's O Christmas Tree and Scroll Plain Jane stamp sets and Verve's Cut Above Scroll die.

I chose to make a TAG!   I die cut the largest Spellbinder's Scallop Pennant  which I think looks like a Christmas Tree.  I layered a piece of   Fancy Pants designer paper on the top.  I ink distressed.  I added some burgandy buttons each threaded with gold memory thread, tie, and curly qued.  I then added the stamped Scroll die which fits perfect across the tree like garland.  Love it!  I think these tags are simple enough to make several at a time.  While they may be simple of love the elegant impact.

Check out what the rest of the team did with this week's challenge!

Happy Saturday, everyone!  It is time for another challenge with the crazies at Crazy 4 Challenges(C4C162).

Joycelyn is the host for November!
She is challenging us all to...
Create a Card
inspired by one of
YOUR  FAVORITE
CHRISTMAS CAROLS!

For my card, I am using Verve's Bright Spirits stamp set and Verve's Cut Above Flourished Trim die.

I chose to go with the Christmas Carol "Jingle Bells."  I kept my base papers fairly neutral with just a pop of red from the bells.  I colored the bells with copics.  I am using MME All is Bright designer papers.

I am using the sketch from Deconstructed Sketch No. 77

Check out what the rest of the team did with this week's challenge!

If you got here from the wonderfully talented Silke's blog, you are in the right place.

For my card I am using ODBD Snowman, and Sacred Christmas stamp sets.

I stamped the snowman image and colored with copics.   I added some  different colors of glitter for added dimension and sparkle.

The sentiment was stamped using a stamp a ma jig for perfect placement.  I used ODBD Spellbinder's Bookmark dies.  I wanted a narrow scalloped edge tag to repeat the scalloped edge frame.  I trimmed off the end. This tag also received some stamped images from the pine needle and pine cone that come in the Sacred Season set.  I just stamped off ranger brushed corduroy ink for a lighter effect.

I am using the sketch from this week's Stamptacular Sunday Challenge #188.

I combined some Simple Stories Homemade Holiday designer papers.  I added some ink distressed  corrugated cardboard and a few tiny gold pearls.  I finished with a seam binding bow.  I am using this week's Mojo Sketch 266.

For my second card, I chose to go for a more CAS styled Christmas card.  I am using Verve's newly released Joy to the World Plain Jane along with Making a Statement and Verve's Cut Above Tag Rectangle and Classy Label dies.  Again, I used some more of the Simple Stories Homemade Holidays designer papers.  I finished with a seam binding bow topped with a chunky metallic gold pearl.  I am using Retro Sketches #36.
