Stamptacular Sunday Challenge, Viva La Verve, and MORE!

Happy Sunday!  It is time for Stamptacular Sunday Challenge!  This week we are celebrating "No Kids Allowed" Birthday cards.   Check out the link to see the other dt samples and find out how to play along with us. This week ends my six month rotation designing with Stamptacular Sunday Challenges.  It has been a blast and so wonderful to be able to design with women all over the world.  I am always inspired and in awe how something as simple as paper crafting can bring the whole world together!   While language is a barrier in most instances when working on a global scale,  I must give a shout out for blogging and translate options that allows us all to communicate with each other.  I also want to give a wonderful Thank You to Priscilla who runs the SSC and has organizational skills that are over the top!   Thank you so much Cill for this opportunity!  Keeping you in my prayers!   {{Hugs}}  and Blessings!

For my card I am using Viva La Verve sketch week 5.  Sankari is the host this week.  I thought this was a great sketch to incorporate some fun patterns and colors of dp that I have had for a bit and not used with MME Alphabet Soup Girl dp.  I am using Verve's Abundant Blessings, Beautiful You, and Sweet Treats stamp sets.  I also use the embossed oval die for my  the You Rock sentiment.  Had to throw that cool sentiment in there for some pizzazz.    I love making this die cut a little tag, too.  It is the perfect size.  Just punch a hole and tie it on.  My dd has asked me for several Birthday Cards for her friends.  Sometimes I am not sure if it is for a guy or a girl.  I am thinking this one is a bit girly, though.  I like changing up the standard Birthday sentiment for a quote at times.   For the rest of the card, I chose to go with some black contrast regular and zig zag stitching.   I stamped the flowers in Memento tuxedo black ink and colored with copics.  I added some glitter around the petals for fun and topped the main one off with a silver pearl.  I added my sentiment that speaks of music to coordinate with my musical score dp.  I let my bow and tag represent the double circle detailing on the sketch.

As always, thanks so much for stopping by!

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge, ODBD, and More!

Happy Sunday!  It is time for Stamptacular Sunday Challenge! This week's challenge is to let the sentiment/poem/verse/words are the main image and focus of the card!  Check out the link to find out how to play along with us!
For my card I am using one of ODBD newly released 3rd Anniversary Scripture Collection sets.  This scriptures comes from Collection 5.  I am also using one of the Fancy Frames images designed by our very own Dawn Lusk to coordinate with the Spellbinder's Label 17! Beautiful frame detailing!

I combined this frame with some Webster's Pages dp.  The frame image actually has an inside dotted border, but I used that to help me line up my tiny pearl frame.  Love that!  I used the stamp a ma jig to line my scripture in the oval space.  I went with soft colors and detailing on this card.  I did find this beautiful rose that I just had to use.  I may have to hand deliver this card, though.  The rose is a bit big!  Also using the clear butterfly to comply with ODBD Stamping In Time Challenge to use clear, crystal, glass, etc.  It is also for ODBD Shining the Light Challenge to represent New Life.  I think the rose and butterfly represent those.

As always, thanks so much for stopping by!

I have also entered my card in a few other blog challenges:
Belli Challenge:  Letter "C"  (clear pink butterfly, coiled wire)
Creative Cottage: Spring Has Sprung (flower, butterfly)

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge, MFTWSC10, Dizzy Rosette, and MORE!

Happy Sunday!  It is time for a Stamptacular Sunday Challenge!  This week we have a fun sketch.  Our sponsor is MFT Stamps, too!  Check out the link and find out how to play.   There is a MFT gift certificate up for grabs!  How cool is that?

I finally got my first Pure Innocence set!  WooHoo!  I decided on the Out on a Limb set because it not only had this adorable PI girly but also a tree and lots of sentiments!  I have two cards.  One for the sketch and one just because I wanted to play.

For my top card I am using the MFT PI Out on a Limb set and showcasing the PI girly.   I hardly have any people images.  I thought it was fun learning to color.   I tried to comply with the colors from CR84FN19  to use grays, blues, and aquas.   I  paper pieced her a dress in a coordinating print, but the color of the paper make her look a bit homey.  LOL!  I decided with these muted hues that she need a pop of color.  The color challenge mentions that the dominant colors need to be in these hues so I hope I am still safe with a splash of coral.

This card is one I made for the WSCMFT10 weekly MFT sketch challenge at the SCS MFT forum.   This card showcases the little tree and birdie that comes in the same PI set.  I also tried experimenting around with my dienamics dizzy border die.  I really love the delicate look this die has when it is just cut out.  However, the more I looked at it the more I thought it would look even more delicate as a medallion.  I had to play around with how this would best work.  I am thinking if I had the MFT rosette die cut that it would have been easier.   I do not have that  border die so I used my score pal instead.

How I did it:  Dizzy Rosette is what I call it!   I cut a strip of paper that was about 6 inches long and 1.5 wide.  I scored at half inch marks down long side.  I then placed my dizzy border die namics across top and cut out.  I removed all excess scraps and used the prescored marks to fold my very delicate border.  I did this twice and placed on a 3/4" circle punch with glue.  I then mounted another circle for the top and pressed lightly.  I finished with a button that would cover the area, a flower punch, sentiment strip, and gold pearl.  I love how it looks and must try this again in different colors.  I just love the dainty finish.  Thought I would share!

I am playing in a few other blog challenges.

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge, Mojo, and MORE!

Happy Sunday, everyone!  It is time for Stamptacular Sunday Challenge!  The challenge this week is "You've Been Framed!"  Any kind of frame on you cards works this week! Check out the link and play along with us!

For my card I am using  Verve Love's Flower and Thankful Hearts stamp sets.  I layered some coordinating MME totally girl designer papers together for this card.  I am slightly addicted to this paper pack at the moment.  So many colors, patterns, and options!  I started out with my flower in the teal shade to match one of the background flowers and ribbon, but after looking at it for awhile, I decided to redo the flowers in a buttery yellow.   I used the Verve Embossed Oval die for my sentiment tag.  I die cut it and punched a hole in it with my CAD.  I stamped the sentiment and another flower from the Love Flower set that looks like one of the ones in the papers.

I am using the Mojo Monday sketch179. I am also playing in a few other blog challenges!  ABC Challenge:  "O" is for ovals(small oval diecut sentiment),  Creative Cottage:  fabulous florals,  AllSorts:  Make your own flowers(stamped, colored, cutout, and layered), Crazy4Challenges(C4C76):  flowers,  Fairy Fun Fridays:  Song  Tuesday Trigger:  Inspiration Picture(Flower Power)! I decided to use this dark paper with flowers all over it.  Instead of focusing on the colors in the picture, I just took the flower theme and ran with it! OSCC:  Spring Flowers,  Crafty Catz:  For a Friend,  Delightful Challenges:  Use your scraps(yellow flower punch outs and the purple layer were scraps,  Crafty Sentiments: Spring,  Stamp Something: Something with Flowers!

Stamptacular Sunday, SFYTT, Throwdown, and MORE!

Happy Sunday, everyone!  It is time for Stamptacular Sunday Challenge!  The challenge this wee is "S.O.S."  We are making cards for "someone special."  Check out the link and play along with us!

For my card I am using ODBD The Lord Has Risen and Cross of Christ stamp sets.  I decided to play again with ODBD Stamping In Time Challenge.  The challenge is "Distress Call."   I stamped the flower image and colored with copics.  I colored and cut out and adhered with some foam dimensionals.  I added some clear, blue, and green glitter for a wee bit of sparke accenting.  I finished the flowers with some gold pearls.  I layered SU vintage springtime paper collection and chose to color my flowers to coordinate with the paper.  I added some lace, ribbon, two different stitches with sewing machine, decorative pin accents, and a sentiment tag tied with twine.  I love how the card turned out.  I distressed all the edges with some distressing ink in camomile.

I am using the colors from the Color Throwdown and the sketch from SFYTT(February2011)!  I am also playing in a few other blog challenges!  Charisma Cardz:  Spring, Dutch Dare:  glitter, ABC Challenge:  "O" is for ocean blue,  Creative Cottage:  fabulous florals,  The Pixie Cottage:  Embossing (folder), AllSorts:  Inspired by Nature, Crazy4Challenges(C4C75):  diecuts
