I have a cute card to share to day using the the featured Doodled Occasions stamp set and Verve's Cut Above Ribbon Banner and Pennant trim dies.  For this card the Pennant trim die was used to create the sun rays.  I stamped the adorable smiley face image that comes in the set in Memento black.  I added some glitter for extra fun and sunshine sparkle. I just love the variety of fonts and sentiments with oodles of doodled images that come in this set.  Makes for some fun and fast cards!

This card is also my 
sample for this week's Crazy 4 Challenges (C4C150)!  Silke is the host for August.  This week she has challenged us to a COLOR COMBO of  BLUE - YELLOW - PINK - GREEN!  Fun colors for sure!  I am also using this week's Mojo Monday sketch(mojo254)!

For my card I am using ODBD Serenity Prayer stamp. I combined the image with some Glitz Yours Truly designer papers.  I chose to use the image alone on my card.   I added some stitching, sponging, seam binding bow topped with coordinating flower, and a few navy clear gems on the side.  

I am using the Freshly Made Sketch 48.  I turned the sketch.  I am also playing along with ODBD Shining the LightChallenge (ODBDSLC119) Sponging.  I sponged inside the rectangle die with some Ranger straw ink.

Sun & Shield, C4C, and ODBDSLC!

Happy Saturday, everyone!  It is time for another challenge with the crazies at Crazy 4 Challenges(C4C149).   Silke is the hostess for August.     This week she is challenging us to an all white card.  Only white except for the focal image.  That you can color or use a colorful ink.  

For my card I am using ODBD Scripture Collection 6.  I combined the scripture with some fun pearl bead work, white 3/8" grograin ribbon, clear crystal pins, and embossing folder.  The scripture was stamped with Memento Grape Jelly ink.  With all of the white it feels CAS to me.  Not sure since there are layers, though.

I am also playing along with ODBD Shining the Light Challenge ODBDSLC118.  this week.  We are to use a scripture on our cards.

You're the Coolest Chick I Know!

Happy Friday!  I have a card to share with you today using this week's Mojo Monday sketch253.  It is contest week!  I turned the sketch.

For my card I am using Verve's Chicks Rule stamp set.  I also cut into a new stamp pad I just got in the mail.  I am using BasicGrey PB&J Collection.  I layered the patterns with some coodinating card stock, stitched the edges, and created a fun sort of hot air balloon look with the basket bottom from the stamp set combined with a spellbinders die tied with some red/white string.  I colored the basket and chick with copic markers.  I finished with some gold pearls, seam binding bow topped with button and twine bow.

Flourishes Beautiful World Tour!

Hello Everyone and welcome to the first Flourishes Beautiful World Tour!   Those of you who have been following Flourishes will know that the first Monday of the month used to be the Bring Back Beautiful Challenge. As we celebrate Flourishes' 5th Birthday, there have been some changes and one of those is our team! This month Kathy is hosting our Beautiful World Tour theme.   This month we are to be inspired by a  SONG! 

Hello!  I am Betty Wright!  Welcome to the United States of America!   I live in the state of North Carolina!  Just a couple hours drive to the Atlantic Ocean!  I live in what they call the "south."

For my card I am using Flourishes Hydrangea and Tiny Flowers and Tags stamp sets.  I am using Flourishes Classic White card stock.  I stamped the hydrangea with Memento tuxedo black ink.  I colored with Flourishes Copic Color Collections.  

I chose to keep my hydrangea flowers in soft hues of blues and lavender just like the ones in my garden.   Hydrangeas are my FAVORITE flowers!  I am sharing some pictures from my garden that I took earlier in the summer before the heatwave zapped them all.  They were hanging full this year.  Even with the heatwave these bushes have already grown a lot since these pics.   We were fortunate to still get rain even when it was sweltering. There are only a couple of blooms right now, though.  I hope to have more soon.  I love cutting a few and adding to vases throughout my living space.  Makes me happy happy, I tell ya!  

I love hydrangeas because they are so huge and fluffy!  Plus, you never know what color they are going to be each year since their flower color is determined by the soil.  It is like Surprise!  Surprise!  Each little flower blooms to make the whole.  Sort of like the people of the world.  We all have a purpose.  We need to get along and come together to make things beautiful!   Combining how I feel about the flower with the kick off to this Beautiful World Tour, it made me think of the song... "It's a Small World After All!"

For my card today I am using Verve's Fabulous You, and Super Dad stamp sets.  I am using Verve's Cut Above Ribbon Banner and Rounded Scallop Frame dies.   This card is for my dd who leaves for university in 8 days. Bring on the Kleenex people!  Now that it is getting closer, some of Erica's comments are implying that she is uncertain of the unknown.  This is a big step. I thought these two sentiments alone are wonderful, but combined they really say what she needs to hear.   I am using some fun Webster's Pages papers from my stash.  I distressed the edges, added some ink distressing as well, then stitched.  I layered two of the Ribbon Banner dies for the focal point.  I finished with some gems, seam binding bow, and clear stick pins.  I am using this month's SFYTT.  Verve is the sponsor this month.

From Me to You! C4C and MORE!

Happy Saturday, everyone!  It is time for another challenge with the crazies at Crazy 4 Challenges(C4C148).   Silke is the hostess for August.     She is challenging us to make a back to school card/gift for a teacher!   

For my card I am using ODBD newly released Bookmark-Trees and ODBD Custom Spellbinders Bookmark dies.  I also used a sentiment from Mini Tags 3 set.    

I chose to make a large post it note holder complete with a bookmark clip and bookmark.  The actual post it note pad is 4 x 6.  The holder is slightly larger.  I added some stitching and rubbed versamark all over to create a suede effect to the cherry cobbler card stock.

For my card I am using ODBD As You Graduate for the scene along with the newly released Bookmark-Prayers and ODBD Custom Spellbinders Bookmark dies.  LOVE THESE! 

 My question for you today is.....Can you give a man a bookmark?  My answer...I do not see why not.  If they read the Bible or take notes for work projects, a bookmark is a great little gadget and a useful form of inspiration and encouragement that is technically "on the go." 

Today, I set out to make a guy card with a "behind the scenes" bookmark pocket.   Literally....the bookmark is housed behind the scene.  I used score tape on three sides to create a fun little useful pocket for my bookmark.  Once the bookmark is removed, the card stands alone without anything appearing missing.

I first stamped the scene image in vintage cream and embossed.  I then sponged on Memento Bahama ink.  I created the pocket, stamped and die cut the bookmark, inked edges, added a rustic tassel to my bookmark, and finished with a few blue gems.  I like how it turned out.
