Shadowed Background Pillow Talk with my PTI stamps!!!

I have a weakness for background images. I cannot help myself really. I was in Target yesterday and they had this cool pillow. I knew right away it would work with one of the background images that comes in the background retro set from PTI.

Here is the link to the pillow. Target Pillow

I am using some PTI plum pudding cardstock. I sponged PTI plum pudding ink onto the cardstock to give it a richer look to match the pillow color. I stamped the Fresh Snow craft ink repeatedly with the background image.

Next, I stamped the vertical lines in the set onto another piece of cardstock because I love this look and it is one of my go to layouts. I also stamped one of the images of the LIFE set from PTI three times for my focal image. I outlined the flowers with the copic C1.

I rubbed the ink pad (dtp technique) across the cardstock before I punched out the butterflies then I added some tiny pearl detailing. I also sponged the plum pudding onto the saddle-stitched PTI ribbon to sort of make the white threads blend alittle more and coordinate with the look I wanted to achieve. I finished with some pearls in the corner. I love how my pillow to card turned out.

BACKGROUND and COPIC HINT: I am forever playing around with backgrounds. If you do not own any copics, you really should consider C1 as a first purchase. I have been using this color to add shading to my created backgrounds lately to create some depth and dimension. It really gives stamped backgrounds some umph so they look more like dp instead of just stamped images. I outline the inside right corner of the shapes in the background and the space between the bars of vertical lines. It is subtle, but the depth is definitely obvious and even mor so in real life. Here is a card I did with the shadowed background technique a few weeks ago. It is a little more obvious here.

Thanks for stopping by and as always I would love to know what you think!
