Stamptacular Sunday Challenge, MFTWSC10, Dizzy Rosette, and MORE!

Happy Sunday!  It is time for a Stamptacular Sunday Challenge!  This week we have a fun sketch.  Our sponsor is MFT Stamps, too!  Check out the link and find out how to play.   There is a MFT gift certificate up for grabs!  How cool is that?

I finally got my first Pure Innocence set!  WooHoo!  I decided on the Out on a Limb set because it not only had this adorable PI girly but also a tree and lots of sentiments!  I have two cards.  One for the sketch and one just because I wanted to play.

For my top card I am using the MFT PI Out on a Limb set and showcasing the PI girly.   I hardly have any people images.  I thought it was fun learning to color.   I tried to comply with the colors from CR84FN19  to use grays, blues, and aquas.   I  paper pieced her a dress in a coordinating print, but the color of the paper make her look a bit homey.  LOL!  I decided with these muted hues that she need a pop of color.  The color challenge mentions that the dominant colors need to be in these hues so I hope I am still safe with a splash of coral.

This card is one I made for the WSCMFT10 weekly MFT sketch challenge at the SCS MFT forum.   This card showcases the little tree and birdie that comes in the same PI set.  I also tried experimenting around with my dienamics dizzy border die.  I really love the delicate look this die has when it is just cut out.  However, the more I looked at it the more I thought it would look even more delicate as a medallion.  I had to play around with how this would best work.  I am thinking if I had the MFT rosette die cut that it would have been easier.   I do not have that  border die so I used my score pal instead.

How I did it:  Dizzy Rosette is what I call it!   I cut a strip of paper that was about 6 inches long and 1.5 wide.  I scored at half inch marks down long side.  I then placed my dizzy border die namics across top and cut out.  I removed all excess scraps and used the prescored marks to fold my very delicate border.  I did this twice and placed on a 3/4" circle punch with glue.  I then mounted another circle for the top and pressed lightly.  I finished with a button that would cover the area, a flower punch, sentiment strip, and gold pearl.  I love how it looks and must try this again in different colors.  I just love the dainty finish.  Thought I would share!

I am playing in a few other blog challenges.
