For my card, I am using Flourishes Sweet Days of Summer set. I am using Flourishes Classic Ivory card stock. While this set is named the Sweet Days of Summer, I really think a few of the images in the set can still translate to a fall theme.
My card is also for SCS Color Combination Challenge(CC339)! Mary is the host this week and she has chosen "Always So Crazed" as the trio of colors with an awesome dessert option. I decided to start with some neutral papers from My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Christmas designer papers. I know it says Christmas, but several patterns can be used for anything really. I just love this neutral color. To me it coordinates perfectly with soft suede. I thought this color would be a perfect neutral patterned background for my focal image plus offer a warm fall hue.
I decided to use the tree image from the Sweet Days of Summer set for my card today. First, I punched out a circle and used the negative space to make my sun for the background and sponged colored the area inside the stencil. I then sponged colored the tree in different shades to create a true fall color wave on the leaves using always artichoke and vintage photo. I used the huffing technique and huffed on my stamp (heat and moisture from breathing) then stamped the image. I love how the tree turned out.
All the panels were ink distressed. I used a Spellbinder's for focal image and frame. I finished with some cream seam binding, bow with button, and gold memory thread.
Check out what the rest of the team created!
As always thanks so much for stopping by!
