Thank You and Celebrate Today!

Happy Saturday!  I have a couple of cards to share today.  I am playing along with this month's Papertrey Ink's Create Along With Us Challenge.  When I saw the collection of beautiful cards by Danielle used here, I just knew I had to try to recreate at least a couple of them.

First of all, I always like to recreate the "look" using what I have.  I do not own the frame die Danielle used, but I do own the Fancy Pants coloring paper pack.  I saw the packaging used to wrap around the papers and wondered if I could use those.  I cut it down and die cut a stitched frame with both.  They totally work!  I love that they both have the frame detailing as well as the soft green/blue sponging inside the frame like Danielle's cards.

Next, I had to break out my PTI Doily Die (I must add a disclaimer here......I do not intentionally try to use my doily die on every card....it just seems that way).   This die is serving two purposes.  It is giving me the circular image like Danielle's center card.  I love the way the apples and blossoms all create an intricate frame design.  Plus, this die is covering up all of the Paper Pack packaging words.   Win! Win!  The gold was my idea!  I just had to add some metallic!

I die cut the same Thank You die cut twice. One in white linen and one in white card stock.  I layered the two together.    For the focal colors like Danielle's I used my Color Pop Florals kit.  I die cut, stenciled, and stamped the small flower cluster and leaves.

Since I had two panels, I made two cards.  I used a smokey shadow doily on this one.   I only used a couple of the flower clusters and leaves on this one. If you look closely, you can see a few letters from the packaging peeking through the doily.

I die cut the "Celebrate Today"  that is part of the Floral Pop Kit.  I die cut it twice for added dimension.  I used some foam tape to pop up the doily and flowers.

For the flowers and leaves on both cards,  I used the stencils to sponge pure poppy and ocean tides.  I stamped the centers in hybrid black licorice ink.  I finished both cards with a few clear sequins.

As always thanks so much for stopping by!

  3. Aren't you just the clever one, Betty? I had to really look closely to see a bit of black print under the doily but only because you mentioned it. Both cards are gorgeous! Thanks for the reminder to pull out my small doilies and "use" them.
