You're Just My Cup of Tea!

I am guest designing for Ink to Paper/Papertrey Ink today.  I have a few projects to share showcasing products from the December 2019 release.

For my first project, I wanted to create a clean and simple styled card, yet create some drama using dark color.  I started with some Scarlet Jewel card stock.  I combined the new Border Bling: Tin Stitch with the Scallop Stackers Medium die.  I am always looking for ways to stretch my purchases to create different looks. A tip for combining these two dies is to die cut the scallop frame first, then line it up with the Tin Stitch. I added some foam tape to the back and popped it up on a top folding Scarlet Jewel card base.

For the focal images, I  used the flower and stems from Cup of Love die.  I die cut the flowers with Select White card stock.  I inked the tiny center with some Bright Buttercup ink.  The stems were die cut with Spring Moss card stock.  I sponged on a bit of Simply Chartreuse ink to add some darker green tones to the leaves and stems.  I turned one of the stems upside down to create the look of different stems. The stems were glue to the panel. I added foam tape to the back of the flowers to give them a bit of dimension.

I stamped the sentiment using Pen and Ink stamp set onto Stamper's Select White card stock.  I used Versafine Onyx black and Scarlet Jewel inks.  I used the fishtail die from
Wine Bottle Tag #2.  I added foam tape to the back and added it to the card at a slight tilt to create some variation. I decided not to add any other embellishments to this card.  I love the simple yet dramatic clean look.

For card 2, I started with True Black card stock.  I used the newly released Border Bling: Lots of Dots die.  I backed this panel with another true black card stock panel cut to fit.  I die cut another panel using Tim Holtz kraft metallic gold card stock.

I inlaid all of the metallic gold circles.  I love the contrast of black with the metallic gold.  A tip is to adhere the Lots of Dots die cut frame to an adhesive backed panel.  This makes inlaying the pieces fast and easy.

Next, I stamped with versamark and gold embossed a sentiment from Penned Elegance II stamp set on True Black card stock.  I die cut the sentiment panel with the medium Pierced Featured Frame dies.  I added some foam tape to the back and popped it in the center. I used a few of the gold circle die cut pieces in the corners as extra embellishment accents.

My 3rd project today uses the Cup of Love die set.  First of all, I must say I love this set because it cuts out two embossed cups that are scored to fold.  The cup can be used as a shape card, folded to make a pocket, or used as a tag.  It also comes with several other elements which adds to its versatility.

I chose to make a Tea Cup Carousel. The hardest part in making this gift ensemble was taking the pictures. The design itself goes pretty fast once all the elements and components are figured out.

I started with seven colors of Bitty Big pattern papers.  I used Bitty Big: Pure Poppy, Bitty Big: Prairie Grass, Bitty Big: Dark Indigo, Bitty Big:  Lilac Grace, Bitty Big: Harvest Gold, Bitty Big: Berry Sorbet, Bitty Big: Hawaiian Shores.  die cut seven tea cups from the Cup of Love die.  I glued the back of one to the back of another until I had glued all seven colors.

Just make sure when you add your adhesive to do so around the edges of the cups leaving the top of the tea cup without any adhesive.  This way the back of one tea cup and the front of another tea cup die creates the pocket.

I added a circle "saucer" base by die cutting Stamper's Select White card stock 3 times using a 5 inch circle die.  I glued all three together for added weight and stability.  I used Limitless Layers:  Heart dies create a topper for the tea cup carousel. I used a sentiment from the Cup of Love stamp set.  I stamped with versamark and white embossed.

I used red/white twine to add a few tags using the tag die that comes in the Cup of Love die.  I also used the fruit die to create lemon slices.  I sponged Bright Buttercup ink. I cut the slices from edge to center and glued to the edge of the cup.

Here is a list of many of the products I generally
use every time I make a card.

As always thanks so much for stopping by!
