I had just a few moments to play in my crafty space today. On my way outside now to paint some bookshelves for my classroom. I am hoping the clouds stay back long enough for the paint to dry. Oh dear!
This card is truly out of my comfort zone. It is quirky and whimsical. I am playing along with this week's Papertrey's Make It Monday Challenge. We are to use crayon resist technique. I generally love this technique; however, I had some issues with my crayon. I have a white twist up crayola crayon. I am thinking the wax content is either really low or really old at this point. A lot of my ink just absorb over the crayon area anyway. I used white crayon on all the back frames so the white would show through. I used the crayon on the accent images as well as the focal sentiment area. Luckily, that showed pretty well.
I do prefer to do this technique with high gloss paper, but I did not have any. I made my focal point quirky and try to keep the whole card whimsical. I searched my stash of PTI images and realized I have very few if any outlined stamps. Hmmm. In keeping with the whimsical, quirky theme, I cut some pom poms off of a roll of pom pom fringe and added to my seam binding bow. Finished with a couple touches of gems.
Cute and fun! Makes my heart SMILE!
As always thanks so much for stopping by!
Betty
Betty, this makes my heart simile too! Love the bright colors and that you stamped the 'handmade' on the top. The pons were the perfect accent!
