United We Craft Blog Party!

Welcome to Simon Says Stamps United We Craft Blog Party!   A big thank you to Simon Says Stamp for hosting such a wonderful united crafting event!

I am a high school teacher.  When I am not working remotely from home, I am taking care of my mom who has Alzheimer's.  Mom and I go for walks outside around the yard for some sunshine and fresh air.  The azaleas were in bloom this past week.  Mom enjoyed the walk and wanted to stop and see all the pretty flowers.  She was almost childlike with joy.  My card inspiration came from mom.  Be Strong.  Be Beautiful.  Be Fearless.

For my card I started with some Copic friendly white card stock.  I die cut a stitched oval.  I ink blended distressed oxide tumble glass ink around the edges ending with a very subtle soft color in the center.  Next, I stamped the flowers and the leaves from Simon Says Stamps Floral Shapes stamp set using Memento Tuxedo black ink.   I colored the images with Copic Markers.

I die cut the images with Floral Shapes coordinating die set.  I used the mini misti to stamp the sentiment from Sketch Lotus Flower using Versafine onyx black ink.  I set the flowers to the side to work on my card base.  I used Simon Says Stamps Slate card stock.  I die cut two MFT collage cover up die and glued together.

I ink the edges with SSS embossing clear ink for some added definition.  I stamped the top folding card base with You Are background stamp using SSS embossing clear ink.  I added the stitched oval using foam tape for added dimension.  I arranged the flowers.  I finished the card with a few clear sequins.

As always thanks so much for stopping by!
