ODBD Special Birthday Blog Hop!

Happy Monday!  Today, the ODBD designers are celebrating a very special lady's birthday!  Happy Birthday, Randi Barrett!  You can read about Randi's story here.

If you just hopped over from Debi's blog you are in the right spot.  If not, you may want to start at the ODBD Blog!

Randi has a stamp set in the store dedicated to her called Randi's Song For my card today I used elements from this set along with the poppy image from Mother's Day and the sentiment from the Happy Birthday set.  I used ODBD Custom Poppy die.  This image and die come with stem included.  I just snipped the top of the poppy off and colored with copics. I added some gun metal stickles to the centers.  I stamped the scripted verse in Randi's Song set inside the large scalloped August Release Bookmark Collection of  ODBD Spellbinder's Exclusive Bookmark dies.  I lightly sponged inside.  I did cut this die down.  For this card the bookmark die is used as more of a tag than a bookmark.  It is adhered to the card.

Next, I stamped the two step leaves that come in Randi's Song with Memento Pear and a couple with New Sprout inks.  The veining stamp was stamped with ripe avocado inks.  I cut those out and inked the edges a bit.  I then arranged my three flowers and the leaves to create a fun and colorful arrangement to coordinate with my background paper.  I finished with a double ended fishtail sentiment, seam binding bow, and some gold metallic memory thread curly que touches.

As always thanks so much for stopping by!  Next on the hop is Sandee's blog!

Dreams! Verve MOJO, Color Throwdown, and MORE!

Happy Wednesday!  I had a chance to play in my craft room this afternoon.  I decided to use this week's MOJO Monday Sketch 192 and the colors from Color Throwdown 143.  I am using Verve Blue Skies, Bloom and Grow, Bountiful Backgrounds, and Text Objects stamp sets.  I am also using the Elegant Leaves Die and the Flutterby Die.

I found the Crate Paper Emma's Shoppe Collection paper pack to have all of the colors for the Color Throwdown challenge.  I really love this book binding print.  It is cute and fun.  For my leaf die cut.  I chose to lay a couple of the bountiful background strips side by side on the acrylic block.  I inked up with Memento Pear ink.  I took the solid leaf image from the Bloom and Grow and kissed the inked background  and stamped onto my cardstock and die cut.  I then inked the solid image up and stamped off and lightly stamped onto the kissed stamped image.  I love this patterned effect.  I decided to use another designer page from the pack to die cut my butterfly.  The little tag was created by stamped the stitched heart from Text Objects set and cutting out and distressing slightly the edges.

As always thanks so much for stopping by!
