Verve June 2015 Release Spotlight Hops

Welcome back to Day 2 of Verve's March Spotlight Hops!  The Verve Divas and special guests are back for another day of spotlighting our new release! Everything previewed this week is available to order in the Verve online store. So come hop along and take a closer look at the Coffee Helps and Cup for All Seasons die set.

If you got here from Amber's Blog you are in the right spot, otherwise, you may want to start at the very beginning at the Verve Blog so you do not miss a thing!

For my card I chose to watercolor a background using some warm tones of Ranger Distress Inks.  I die cut the tag using Verve's Flourished Tag die set from the watercolor paper before I started coloring, then when all of the coloring was dried, I used some foam tape to pop up the tag and put it back in its cut out slot.

For the tag, I decided to keep the watercolor in the center creating a white frame around the edges so it would stand out against the background.  In keeping with the white detailing,  I decided to emboss the sentiment from Coffee Helps in white as well.  Love this look!  As for the coffee mug, I  die cut using Cup for All Seasons die set, stamped and watercolored the coffee mug in a cool shade of turquoise to pop against these warm tones.

I added a touch of shading to the cool whip and accented with some wink of stella for a sugary glow.  I embellished the tag with a tiny clothespin.  I added some loose threading and a few sequins and my card was complete!
