Smile Sunshine!

Happy Sunday!  Finally had a chance to get crafty.  With school starting back last week for teachers and family in town, it was a busy week.  I am playing along with a couple of blog challenges.

I am playing along with PTI Create Along With Us Challenge and The Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge.

For my PTI inspiration, I used Betsy Veldman's card seen HERE in more detail.

I love the colors and sponged detailing around the edges along with the focal detailing in the center.  I also love the added touch of red with the coral tones which I used with the word die.

I started with some strathmore watercolor paper.  I ink blended some ripe persimmon, fossilized amber, squeezed lemonade, and worn lipstick.   I spritzed on some water and blotted for added dimension.  I also used some Copic Opaque white with a touch of water to added some white splatters which eventually absorbed the color of the background tones.  Love this effect.

I die cut PTI Yellow Sunshine Die and popped up this panel using foam tape.  I added it to a top folding PTI select white card stock base.  I added a separate inked squeezed lemonade with a tiny touch of fossilized amber to the interior for contrast.

For the sentiment, I die cut the word "smile" from the Bold
Borders:  Prism die four times and glued together for added stability.  The top panel I used watercolor paper.  I inked the top with abandon coral distressed ozide and the bottom with barn door distressed oxide ink.  I inked blended some scarlet jewel inkto the bottom as I did not think it was dark enough.  Once it was dried I added it to the top of the card with some loose thread behind for an added detail.  I then brushed on some Windsor Newton Irridescent Medium for some sparkle and shine.  I finished my card with a few clear sequins.

As always thanks so much for stopping by!
