DAY 3 - Saturday, 8/26/17

Welcome to Day 3 of the Anni-VERVE-sary Spotlight Hops!  It's time for another day of spotlighting the Verve release with the Verve Divas and special guests! We're super excited to have a couple very special Diva Alumni joining us for the hop today. Everything previewed this week will be available to order in the Verve online store on Monday, August 28. If you just can't wait, you can pre-order the entire release now as the August 2017 Buy it All Bundle at a 30% discount through August 27.

Today we're sharing our first projects featuring the Cake and Candles stamp set, another fusion of old and new. This birthday themed compilation includes some brand new birthday sentiments with a classy modern font pairing, as well as a few re-introductions of previous sentiments and plain janes.

I created a shaker card using That's My Boy Echo Park pattern paper and Cake and Candles stamp set.  

 I stamped the focal sentiment using Versafine Onyx black ink.  I used a variety of Verve's Sequin Mixes in my shaker.  

I colored and fussy cut the cupcake and added some wink of stella for some sugary shine.   I finished with a few gold sequins.

Today we're sharing our first projects featuring the Bloom Brighter stamp set and coordinating, Blooming Die Set. A fresh take on the flower from the retired commemorative set Beautiful You, this beautiful encouragement set is perfect for a vareity of cardmaking occasions.

I started with a 4.25 x 5.50 piece of white card stock.  I stamped both of the small leafy images in the Bloom Brighter stamp set in different shades of warm colors.  For added filler I used the tiny dots images from Poppy Birthday stamp set.  

Next, I die cut and stamped one of the bold sentiments from the set and embossed in white using the Stitched Pennant die set.  I added two stamped and die cut leaves using Blooming Die Set to the focal sentiment for added detail. 

I popped up the focal sentiment using some foam tape.  I added some loose threading for added detail.

Day 1 - Verve's 10th Anni-VERVE-sary Spotlight Hops!

DAY 1 - Thursday, 8/24/17

Welcome to our 10th Anni-VERVE-sary Spotlight Hops! Verve is celebrating 10 years of bringing stamps to the world with a release of new and classic Verve! For the next few days we'll be shining our creative spotlights on the new Verve sets and dies that will be releasing Monday, August 28. We hope you'll join us as the design team, special Guest Diva Kelly Lunceford, and some fabulous rockstar alumni Divas share their inspirations with the new goodies this week.

Today's feature is on the Little Ones stamp set and coordinating Little Ones Die Set. A fusion of old and new, this baby themed set brings back some of Verve's most popular plain janes, mixed with a few new designs to tie it all together.

For my card I just had to ink up this adorable chick from the Little Ones stamp set!  I die cut with coordinating Little Ones Die Set and colored with copics.  

I paired this chick with some fun pattern papers. I added the sentiment using versafine onyx black included in same stamp set.  

 I added some wink of stella to the chickie for some added sparkle and shine.  I completed the card with a few of Verve's Shine Bright Sequin Mix.

Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge: Hibiscus!

It's time for a new Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge!

The LEAD of this challenge will be invited to be a guest designer in an upcoming challenge!

For my card I started with some PTI stamper select white card stock base.  I cut another panel at 3.75 X 5.5.   To follow along with this week's CASE this Sketch Challenge, I die cut a circle and used the negative space for a mask.   I brushed the inside top with some Ranger Broken China ink and the bottom with PTI Fine Linen to mimic sand color.  

Next, I die cut and stamped PTI Some Like It Hot stamp and die set.  I used Pale Peony, Hibiscus Burst, and Raspberry Fizz inks on the hisbiscus flowers.  I used spring moss and simply chartreuse on the leaves.  I  arranged the flowers.  

I cut a strip of diagonal strip vellum and adhered to right side hiding the adhesive underneath the panel.  I added the smaller panel with the flowers using some foam tape.  I embossed the sentiment from PTI Vintage Picnic sentiments.  I finished my card with some clear sequins.

Happy 80th Birthday!

Happy Monday!  I am popping in here with a card to share.  Today is my mom's birthday!  My mom is 80 years young today!   I needed a card for her.  I figure to reach such an important milestone that it should be proudly displayed.  

I am playing along with Papertrey Inks Create Along With Us Challenge.   I really love this card from Stephanie Gold.

I love the layout and the different elements on Stephanie's card.  I chose to follow the same layout and look varying the colors and stamps as needed.   The traditional colors for 80th Birthdays are gold and black.  I started with  harvest gold chicken scratch gingham pattern paper for the background.  

I used a paper heart doily from a pack from my stash.  I layered a gold foiled Mix and Mat Pretty Bracket Frames die.  I die cut the By the Numbers in black and used foam tape to pop them up. 

  I used one of the dies from Fabulous Frames for the sentiment.  I stamped the sentiment from the Friendly Flowers stamp set in versamark.  I tied true black twine to the card and tag.  I finished my card with a few clear sequins.

Thank You So Much!

Happy Wednesday!  Popping in with a quick card to share for this week's Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday Challenge.  This week is Monochrome Color Pop! 

 I started with Stampers Select White and Paper Clippings: Thank You stamp set.  I stamped the sentiment a few times using Versafine Onyx Black.  Next, I stamped the little birds.  I chose to use yellow for my color pop.  I added a few touches with some copics to give the birds some definition.

  I used a fine point black marker for their eyes.  I colored each birdie with some wink of stella for added shine.  I finished my card with a few clear sequins.

Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge: Herb Garden!

It's time for a new Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge!

The LEAD of this challenge will be invited to be a guest designer in an upcoming challenge!

For my card I started with PTI Meadow Greens stamp set and coordinating dies to mimic the look of herbs.  I die cut and stamped the leaves in shades of green parakeet, spring moss,  and ripe avocado inks.  

I die cut the largest of the stitched rectangles dies in stampers select white.  To follow along with this week's CASE this Sketch Challenge,  I threaded Baker's Twine True Black using the stitch holes as a guide.  

 I used foam mounting tape on the front panel and a couple of the leafy greens.  I stamped the sentiment from PTI Vintage Picnic Sentiments set in versafine onyx black ink.  I finished my card with a few clear sequins.
