Happy New Year! SSC and MORE!

Happy New Year!  It is time for Stamptacular Sunday Challenge!  This week we have a gorgeous inspiration picture.  I decided to go all kraft and ivory.  I stamped my beautiful corner image using ODBD Butterfly Corner, Butterfly single, and Butterfly die cut.  The scripture is from ODBD Faith set. I stamped the corner image using vintage cream ink directly to the kraft cardstock and let it dry.  I then stamped vintage cream ink to vellum and let it dry.  The ink portion of the butterfly is underneath.  I think this butterfly is just exquisite.   I added a few gold pearls and considered my card complete.  A very CAS styled card for me, but I really do love it just the way it is.

I entered my card in a few challenges!
CES Challenge:  Anything Goes!
MAWTT:  Birthday and Circles!
Sew Many Challenges:  New Things (new stamps)!

Incy Wincy:  Distressing

Stamping In Time(SNTODBD25), Mojo, Curtain Call, and MORE!

It is time for Our Daily Bread Designs Stamping In Time: On Assignment Challenge (SNTODBD25)!     Our Daily Bread Design stamps!   Chrissy Dickinson is our challenge host this rotation.  Chrissy is challenging us to "Ring in the New!"   The theme can be interpreted in many ways, such as.....new stuff, new year, new baby, new home!  Or, the focus is can be on ring and think circular items.  Ring can also be about music.  All forms of celebration ideas like Birthday, Anniversay, etc. are there.  Lots of possibilities

For my top card I am using ODBD set that was released last month called Blessings!  I am also giving you a tiny peak at an image and die cut that will be released in January.  I am using the colors from The Curtain Call Challenge 62! These were some gorgeous colors to work with. I broke out my stash of SU papers for this card. I played off of the image a bit, too, by using my silver doily and silver accessories.

Please check out the other ODBD Designers to see what they created with the  scripture as focus challenge!    FRAN, SABRINA, CHRISSYANGIE, and PATTER!

I decided to make another card using some of my leftover Christmas designer paper that I feel could still be used in a nonChristmas card way.  I mean the font is so small I just love the way it looks.  This card is for the MOJO Monday 171 sketch!   I am also using Mona Pendleton's  Color Challenge CR84FN8!   I am using ODBD Lift Up Our Hands stamp set.  I made it the focus of the card.  I also used the lacey spellbinders frame to create a swing frame with the hidden sentiment underneath. The sentiment underneath is another one from the Blessings stamp set!  Gorgeous fonts and fabulous inspiration!

I entered my card into a few more blog challenges as well!                         Stamps Insanity:  Sparkle (both cards...butterfly glitter and second card I outlined areas with sakura gel sparkle pen)  Fresh Brewed Challenge: Celebrate!   AiFactory:  Elegance!  City Crafters:  Stamp It Out  Aud Sentiments:  Anything Goes!    For Fun:  New Year's(celebration)! Stampin B's:  Celebration!  Sew Many Challenges:  Anything Goes!  I used some hot pink thread today!  I am so loving playing around with thread colors and sewing!

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC98), CC303 and More!

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC98)!  I am the challenge host this week.   I have an easy one for you, too.  I am challenging everyone to pearls. You can add individual, colorful, big, small, flourished, or swirled pearls to your cards/projects. We look forward to seeing what you create!

I am using Flourishes Apple of My Eye and Forest of Trees stamp sets. Both of these sets are currently out of stock at the moment, but should be in stock shortly.  Flourishes is having a big 25% off  Year End Sale on EVERYTHING in the store so stuff is flying!  Hurry over and check it out!

For my card,  I was going for a masculine themed card using pearls. Is it possible? I think I did it! Masculine Elegance is a good thing. I am using some
Webster Pages Petite Papers Combo Pack - Hollywood Vogue & WonderFALL.
I love the blend of patterns and textures looks that can work beautifully for girly cards or, in this case, masculine. I added some machine sewing stitches along with a rich navy satin bow and touches of gold pearls to finish the look.  My colors are navy, olive, with a touch of some daffodil delight.  This trio of colors is for today's SCS Color Combo Challenge CC303.  Check out the link and find out how to play along.

My card is also for a few other blog challenges!
365 Cards:  Day 18 Plentiful Patterns!
ABC Challenge:  K is for keep it simple (way simple than most of my cards)
Tip Top Tuesday:  Embellishing(pearls, ribbon, buttons, dew drops, sewing)
Tuesday Taggers:  Old Father Time (quote and tree add to theme of growing up)
Incy Wincy:  Distressing!  I sponged the edges!
Sew Many Challenges:  Anything Goes!

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge and a REAL White Christmas!

It is Sunday and time for Stamptacular Sunday Challenge!     I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!  We had a wonderful day with family.  We also got a White Christmas.  It started snowing late day so it was really nice since we rarely get snow in these parts.  The white Christmas works beautifully with this week's challenge theme.  The challenge is to use snow on your card.   Nothing says snow quite like a snowman.  I finally get to use this little guy.   I am using a set from Flourishes called Warm Winter Wishes. I also used a few patterns of BasicGrey Jovial.

Edited:  Well, I finally have internet!  The snow was so bad when we got up this morning that the area phone lines were not working.  It is 4:30 pm and I am just getting online today.  I thought I would share with you a photo from my front door taken this morning.  We have over a foot of snow!  Yikes!  Not the norm at all here!  It is beautiful, though.

It is alittle late in the day to finally get to link my card to some blog challenges, but I had a few I wanted to play along with because they are anything goes!  Can't miss those!

Wishing You a Blessed Christmas, The Shabby Tea Room, and MORE!

Finally, I get to tell you that today is the day that I am guest designing for The Shabby Tea Room!  Debbie sent me one of the prettiest inspiration pictures for today's challenge.             The  theme is Scandinavian Christmas!
By now everyone in blogland must know that I love me some Webster Pages!  I have really used this Webster Pages Petite Papers Combo Pack - Waiting for Santa & Sweet Season paper pack.  I really like that the patterns are so beautiful to layer or to use as a stand alone as you can see with additional cards I posted below.  For my top card I was in the mood to do some layering.  I just got this Spellbinder's Nested Hearts die cuts and just had to use them as they work so wonderfully for the inspiration picture.  I combined patterns to compliment the images on the hearts in the photo as well as added the houndstooth print.  I added some contrasting stitching around the frame of the card.   I added some stenciling to the embossed areas of the die cut heart.   I layered the heart with a layered lacey square die cut.  I finished with a wrapped gold cording bow and a tonal seam binding bow.  The sentiment is from ODBD  Blessed Christmas stamp set.

***************************************************

A couple of weeks ago I did a post here showcasing how I mass produce cards with the same basic elements and sketch, but each still having a different look.  I needed a few more Christmas cards so I completed three more.

This card is using the same pack of the Webster's Pages dp as the top card.  However, the paper is doing most of the work for me. I love the paper just as it is and added a die cut  sentiment from ODBD Luke 2:11 stamp set.  I finished with a fou fou bow and some gold curly que cording.

The card to the right again uses the same designer paper.  However, with this one I am using ODBD custom die frame set Brocade Borders which coordinates with the Brocade Borders frame stamps.  The sentiment is from ODBD Christmas Verses stamp set.  I also added  the smaller snowflake from Peace & Joy to the center. I stamped the snowflake in a sweet blush shade so it is subtle and works with the little snowflakes in the designer paper. I used the die cut sentiment as a tag and added the bow and silver pearls and this card was complete.

The card to the left again uses the same designer paper.  It also uses the same ODBD custom die frame set Brocade Borders and Brocade Borders frame stamp set.  I just used the other frame for this card.  I used the die cut sentiment as a tag again.  I used the sentiment from Blessed Christmas.  I added the bow, gold cording, and gold pearls and this card was complete.

These cards are for a few other blog challenges!

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge and More!

It is Sunday and time for Stamptacular Sunday Challenge!  This week's challenge is another fun one.  All  you have to do this week is to add a TREE to your card or project.  Now, it does not have to be a Christmas Tree it can be any kind of tree just so long as we see a definite tree.  Fun, huh?

For my card I decided to use some more of my Webster's Pages dp that already has a tree on it.  I did alter the dp a little by adding some glitter with a glue pen.  Gives it alittle more of a stamped look.  In order to create a bit of depth I used my copic C1 to add some shadow underneath the branches.   I finished with a bow and sentiment tag.

My card is for a few other blog challenges! Mostly sparkle and winter!

ODBD Stamping In Time(SNTODBD24)! Mojo, Curtain Call, and MORE!

It is time for Our Daily Bread Designs Stamping In Time: On Assignment Challenge (SNTODBD24)!    This SNT rotation we are using the scripture as the focus of our cards.  We look forward to seeing what you create using ODBD stamps! Our Daily Bread Design stamps!  I am still working on a few Christmas cards.  I am slightly behind with those.  Yikes!   For my card I am using ODBD Joy to the World stamp set.  I am using one of the scripture sentiments.  I created a medallion flower embellishment and topped it off with a punch out of the gold embossed image in the set of just the baby Jesus!  I layered a couple of different pattern papers.  Added some lace trim and gold pearls to finish my card.

Little TIP!  One of my favorite paper packs right now is the BasicGrey Curio.  I think I need to get another pack of this.  One of the things I really love about this paper pack is the vintage images, distressing, and black framed edge detailing that is on several of the sheets.  However, I have found that with a 6 X 6 paper pack and a 5.5 inch card, I was having to cut off some of the black framing on two sides.  It finally hit me to use my ink pad edge and swipe down the trimmed sides directly to the paper to create my own ink line to finish the frame.  Since the black frame is not perfect in the paper pack itself intentionally, my ink swiping works.  Too cool and so simple to do!  Thought I'd share!

Please check out the other ODBD Designers to see what they created with the  scripture as focus challenge!       FRAN, SABRINA, CHRISSYand LORELIE!

This card is for the MOJO Monday 169 sketch!   Stacey's Curtain Call 60 Color Challenge!  I entered my card into a few more blog challenges as well!

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC97)! Peppermint Fries!

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC97)! This week Maki Jones is our challenge host! Maki is challenging us to a theme! The theme is all about food and drink! Create a card or project that showcases some yummy treats either real or stamped! We look forward to seeing what delicious looking creations you make!

For the food and drink challenge, I decided to have alittle bit of fun with one of my Christmas favorites.  I just love the chalky textured peppermint sticks.  The only place locally I can find them is at the Cracker Barrel.  One day last week, my son and I did the drive through thing at a local restaurant called Smithfield's Barbeque!  We decide to share a small french fry. The fries were served in this fabulous red and white container.  As soon as I saw it, the lightbulb went off.  I thought "peppermint fries!"  I went buy the other day and was only charged alittle over a buck for more than a dozen.  How cool is that?  I am using the Flourishes Sweets of the Seasons for the candy cane cluster and sentiment.  I layered the image with a Spellbinder's lacey circle and used some tissue paper and the project was done.

I also did a separate card for today's SCS Color Combo Challenge CC301!  We are using concord crush, marine mist, and basic/going gray!   For this card I am using Flourishes, Damask bg for the punched out ornament.  I am using Christmas Music to go behind the sentiment from Santa, I Believe stamp sets.

I am using the sketch from Crazy 4 Challenges 67 Cafe Character: Glitter ABC Christmas challenge - Y=yuletide (holly and berries and red and green) Alphabet challenge -G is for glitter (used gel pen and glitter cardstock)Craft Your Days Away - Punch it out Crafty Pad - Heat or Dry Embossing Creative Card Crew - Anything Goes Die Cut Dreams Christmas - A Christmas Carol ("Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas")Fresh Brewed Challenges - Sparkle & ShineLet's Ink It Up - Christmas with sparkle &; bling   Lots to do - GlitzMami Doodles - Anything Goes Opus Gluei - Getting Frosted    Stampin' with the Dragon - make it sparkle  Sugar Sweet Paper Treats - Anything Goes OSAAT-Anything Goes

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC96), SCS CC300, and MORE!

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC96)! This week Silke Ledlow is our challenge host! Silke is challenging us to 3D Holiday Gifts! A card can be made to go along with your gift, but a 3D Christmas gift item is the main challenge! We look forward to seeing what you create!

For the gift challenge, I chose to go with a couple of stacking gift boxes.  I really think it is easier and less costly to create a few of these than it is to buy them.  I can add homemade assorted cookies, candies, notecards, or an actual gift of some sort.  They are fun and easy to do.  I really think the final results is very dramatic and a wonderful finished look!  For my project, I used Flourishes Damask background, Fanciful Flourishes, Holiday Greetings(sentiment), and Fancy Labels(coordinates with Spellbinder die cuts).  I stamped the images onto the cardstock(dp by ME) and assembled the box bottom and top.  I added black satin ribbon and bow. I stamped the label shape, sentiment, then die cut it. I finished with some gold wired curly ques and one gold pearl on my tag.

This card is also for SCS 300th Color Combo Challenge!  It is a Celebration of Color! Check out the link and play along with us!

I am including this gift set with a few blog challenges! Mostly Christmas and gift ones.
