Sweet 16 Masquerade Birthday!

Popping in with a fun card to share today.  A couple of weeks ago my son went to a Sweet 16 Masquerade Ball Birthday Party.  He had to dress up in a suit and tie as well as don a mask for this very special party.  Naturally, he needed to take the perfect card for the occasion and I had the perfect stamp and die set to create this special card!

I am using Verve's Masquerade stamp set and Mask die set.  I started with some fun papers from Echo Park.  I die cut the mask and stamped the image.  I inked the entire mask with versa mark and clear embossed.  I layered the mask on a and slightly lowered it to give some added dimension and depth without looking dark like a shadow.  I love the way it makes the whole image pop.  Next, I stamped the mask handle in black and die cut the handle from the Mask die set.  I embossed the handle in a pale pink.  It sits nicely inside the blacked stamped image to give an outline around the handle for some added depth and dimension.

I stamped the word "Sweet" from Verve's Sweet Treats stamp set.  I added the numbers from a die cut in white for contrast and to keep the card fun and light.  I stamped the Birthday sentiment from Verve's Birthday to You Plain Jane stamp.  I added a few clear gems along with Verve's Pink Sparkle Sequin Mix.  I finished the card with a feather....not the whole feather....just a touch.

I included a picture of my son, Dawson.  It is hard to get him still at this age to take pictures.  I was able to snap a few pictures before he left for the party.  I actually got him to strike a serious mask pose for me.    He is 15 and already almost 6'2"  tall.   He is already something I will never be.....tall.  It was difficult to take the shot.  I did not want him to squat for me.....lol.   He did have a great time at the party!

I am playing along with Simon's Monday Challenge (Anything Goes).

As always thanks so much for stopping by!
