Thinking of You! Viva La Verve Week 2, SCS Inspiration, and MORE!

Happy Saturday!  I have a busy day with my son who is participating in the regional Odyssey of the Mind Tournament!  I am so proud of him and the entire team!  The longterm portion of the program was this morning.  This afternoon is the short.  Then, the awards program later today!

I had to squeeze me a card in just to help with my nerves!  It calms me to play in my craftroom.
I am using the Viva La Verve Week 2 Sketch.  Charmaine is the host this week!  Great sketch, Charmaine!  I did turn it!  Check out the link to find out how to play along with us for a chance at some Verve stamps!

For my card I am using Verve Kind Words!  I just love this flower. I stamped the flower then used my glue pen to add some glitter from Stampendous that is very similar in shade to the color I stamped the flower.  Love how that turned out.

Since my card is a 5.5 square, for the circle portion I used my grand circles die.  I just love my Grand Calibur for the ease of cutting.  I find myself using it to cut multiple shapes out at one time if I am not using a grand die cut.   Anyway, I layered some My Mind's Eye Gertie papers for this fun card!  I also finished with some of my dyed seam binding, a button, and gold pearls!

Stamps: Verve's Kind Words
Paper: PTI vintage cream, The Paper Company kraft, MME Gertie dp
Ink: PTI ripe avocado, berry sorbet, camomille
Accessories: Grand Circle nestabilities, dyed seam binding, sewing machine, may arts ruffle edge lace, gold pearls, glue dots, spellbinders, nestabilities, rectangles, stampendous coral glitter, sponges, foam circles

I am playing along with a few blog challenges.

As always, thanks so much for stopping by!

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge, Mojo, and MORE!

Happy Sunday, everyone!  It is time for Stamptacular Sunday Challenge!  The challenge this week is "You've Been Framed!"  Any kind of frame on you cards works this week! Check out the link and play along with us!

For my card I am using  Verve Love's Flower and Thankful Hearts stamp sets.  I layered some coordinating MME totally girl designer papers together for this card.  I am slightly addicted to this paper pack at the moment.  So many colors, patterns, and options!  I started out with my flower in the teal shade to match one of the background flowers and ribbon, but after looking at it for awhile, I decided to redo the flowers in a buttery yellow.   I used the Verve Embossed Oval die for my sentiment tag.  I die cut it and punched a hole in it with my CAD.  I stamped the sentiment and another flower from the Love Flower set that looks like one of the ones in the papers.

I am using the Mojo Monday sketch179. I am also playing in a few other blog challenges!  ABC Challenge:  "O" is for ovals(small oval diecut sentiment),  Creative Cottage:  fabulous florals,  AllSorts:  Make your own flowers(stamped, colored, cutout, and layered), Crazy4Challenges(C4C76):  flowers,  Fairy Fun Fridays:  Song  Tuesday Trigger:  Inspiration Picture(Flower Power)! I decided to use this dark paper with flowers all over it.  Instead of focusing on the colors in the picture, I just took the flower theme and ran with it! OSCC:  Spring Flowers,  Crafty Catz:  For a Friend,  Delightful Challenges:  Use your scraps(yellow flower punch outs and the purple layer were scraps,  Crafty Sentiments: Spring,  Stamp Something: Something with Flowers!

*************************************

Here is a card I did last week, but did not have a chance to blog til now!  For my card I am using Verve's Birthday Surprise, Vintage Oval Frame, and Merry Wishes stamp sets. I am also using the coordinating Vintage Oval Die.

Stamping In Time: On Assignment Challenge(SNTODBD29)!

Welcome to Our Daily Bread Designs Stamping In Time: On Assignment Challenge(SNTODBD29)! The assignment is Our Daily Bread Design stamps. The challenge this time is "Christmas Cards!"  I know many of you feel that you just packed away all your Christmas decorations.  However, we are going to start working on our Christmas 2011 cards.  It is such a joy to keep my Christmas cards that I make throughout the year in a special place and pull them all out in early December for mailing.  If you do not own any ODBD Christmas stamp sets yet,  you can get creative with the ones that you do have.  I am sure you can work some Christmas spirit into your February creations!   We look forward to seeing what you create using ODBD stamps!

For my card, I am using ODBD Blessed Christmas and Christmas Verses stamp sets.  I also used the beautifully detailed Poinsettia die.  This intricately designed image is gorgeous alone, but to have the intricate die to go with it is amazing!  I am using some My Mind's Eye Totally Girl paper pad.  I went with three soft blue patterns that have touches of lavender.  I layered some spellbinders dies and threw in a silver doily for fun!  I finished with some dyed lavender seam binding and silver pearls.  My main image has touches of dazzling diamonds glitter all over it.

Check out FRAN's Christmas card, too!

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC106), SCS CC311, TSTR, and MORE!

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge!   This week Tammy Hershberger is our challenge host! We are making "Birthday" cards!  Fun and Easy!  So, play along with us!  We would love to see your Birthday cards!

For my card I am using Flourishes Cherry Blossom and Kids Play stamp sets.  I stamped my image onto Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock and used Memento tuxedo black.  I colored with Flourishes Copic Color Collection.  I used various patterns and spellbinders to create the finished look.  I am using the colors from SCS Color Combo(CC311) Always Perfect Roses!

I created the mini pom pom flower/accent. I purchased some all white mini pom pom fringe and dyed it with coffee.  I just love this rich aged mocha patina I got just from letting it soak.   I cut a piece and spiral rolled it to create a little mini pom pom flower/accent for my dyed seam binding.  I love the way it looks and think it is different and unexpected.

Happy Sunday, everyone!  It is time for Stamptacular Sunday Challenge!  The challenge this wee is "S.O.S."  We are making cards for "someone special."  Check out the link and play along with us!

For my card I am using ODBD The Lord Has Risen and Cross of Christ stamp sets.  I decided to play again with ODBD Stamping In Time Challenge.  The challenge is "Distress Call."   I stamped the flower image and colored with copics.  I colored and cut out and adhered with some foam dimensionals.  I added some clear, blue, and green glitter for a wee bit of sparke accenting.  I finished the flowers with some gold pearls.  I layered SU vintage springtime paper collection and chose to color my flowers to coordinate with the paper.  I added some lace, ribbon, two different stitches with sewing machine, decorative pin accents, and a sentiment tag tied with twine.  I love how the card turned out.  I distressed all the edges with some distressing ink in camomile.

I am using the colors from the Color Throwdown and the sketch from SFYTT(February2011)!  I am also playing in a few other blog challenges!  Charisma Cardz:  Spring, Dutch Dare:  glitter, ABC Challenge:  "O" is for ocean blue,  Creative Cottage:  fabulous florals,  The Pixie Cottage:  Embossing (folder), AllSorts:  Inspired by Nature, Crazy4Challenges(C4C75):  diecuts
