Hi: PTI Create Along with Us Challenge!

Happy Wednesday!  I have a card to share today.  I am playing along with this month's Papertrey Ink Create Along With Us Challenge.

I chose to use Betsy's card HERE!  It is so beautiful.  I chose it because I really like the challenge of recreating a look using what I have.

I started with PTI stampers select white card stock I die cut three times the frame from Mix and Mat: Snowflake die.  I then cut out the oval centers using the Noted Scallop: A2 die collection.  Next, I  tried to mimic the stitched border that Betsy used by double stamping a row of the stitched element from Plaid Builder stamp set using Saffron Spice ink onto one of the frames and stacked three together for some dimension just like Betsy did to hers.

For the center oval, I used only one.  I sponged some aqua mist ink into the center.  I die cut and stamped three of the Bitty Bouquet stamp set flowers and Bitty Bouquet dies.  I tried to mimic the colors Betsy used.  I used harvest gold, bright buttercup, prairie grass, sweet blush, amethyst allure, berry sorbet, and pale peony inks for the flowers.  I added them to the center to create the nested bouquet.  I used foam tape on the back to add some depth and dimension.  I added some wink of stella to the flowers.  I  stamped the sentiment from Bold Blossom stamp set.  I tied a rustic cream twine bow to finish this portion of the card.

I used a white card base and added an amethyst allure card stock panel behind the Mix and Mat panel.  I thought it looked a little too plain given that my frame stamping is less ornate than the images that Betsy used.  I chose to use the hello word stamp from Penned Elegance stamp set and stamp at an angle using versa mark to create some background texture and much needed balance to the entire card. I finished my card with a few clear sequins.

As always thanks so much for stopping by!

  10. Plaid builders for the stitching? Aren’t you clever, Betty? Love how to recreated Betsy’s Card in your own way. It’s delightful, and the floral bouquet really pops inside that gorgeous frame. Love that Amethyst Allure layer, too!
