Happy Thursday! I am playing along with this week's Papertrey Ink Make It Monday Challenge. This week Michelle challenged us to simple stitched stems. I decided to to stitch the stem of a branch.
I started with some rustic cream card stock. I used the branch layout from Spring Woods die set to trace the outline of my branch stem. Next, I punched holes and stitched up each side with some brown floss from my stash. I debated stitching inside the branch, but this is supposed to simple stitching so I colored inside with copics instead. I added some wink of stella for added sparkle as well. I die cut using the stitched oval die from Noted: Scalloped A2 Vertical die collection.
Next, I die cut and stamped the smaller flower and leaves cluster from Stitched Garden stamp set and Stitched Garden die collection using stampers select white card stock. I like the contrast between the white and the rustic cream. I arranged and popped up with foam tape my flowers and leaves on the stitched branch stem. I used Tim Holtz stamping platform for stamping. I die cut and stamped one of the larger birds from Brushed Birds stamp set and Brushed Birds die collection and nestled him right on the branch.
For the sentiment I die cut the sentiment strip from Wine Bottle Tag 2 die using true black card stock and heat setting with white embossing powder the sentiment from Keep It Simple: Encouragement stamp set. I popped this panel onto a piece of the pattern paper from Make It Market Kit: Herb Garden. I love the vibrancy and contrasting greens. I added all of this to a stampers select white card base. I finished my card with a few clear sequins.
