Neverending Song! Mojo and More!

Happy Saturday!  I so need to finish cleaning my house and wash and fold some more clothes, but why work when I can craft?   These things I pondered, but only briefly.  I decided I really needed to get my Mojo on and play in my crafty space for a few first, then clean!

For today's card I am using Mojo Sketch 201!   While in my craftroom, I did straighten up a bit and while doing so I found my stash of Graphic 45 Romantique papers that I had put in a basket and totally forgotten about.  I took a look and thought I could use these for this fabulous sketch.   I really love the vintage pink damask pattern piece.  I really did not want to cover it up totally with the horizontal bottom panel in the sketch, so I went with a cuttlebugged textured vellum bottom which I vintaged up a bit with some chamomille and chai inks.  The vellum gives a subtle covering, but does not show up at all hardly in my picture.    I stitched around the frame and left the  vellum as a pocket for my background picture panel.  I distressed these panels and try to make them look like old pictures.   I am using Verve's  One Person stamp set.    I used the Charming Oval dies for my tag.  I finished with some lace, seam binding bow, black flourished gems, gold pearls, and ornate gold button from my stash!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by!

It is time for ODBD Stamping In Time Challenge(SNTODBD40)! The assignment is to use Our Daily Bread Design stamps. The challenge this rotation is to use a doily! The skies the limit with this one as long as you add a doily or two! Remember, the more you play the more you increase your chance to win! We look forward to seeing what you create using ODBD stamps!

For my card I am using ODBD Scripture Collection 5.  I used a mixture of some My Mine's Eye scraps and some Pink Paisless scraps for this card.  I stitched the background and added some layered Spellbinder's.   It was placed perfectly with the stamp a ma jig.  I finished with a silver doily and seam binding bow with flowers.  My seam binding was dyed using Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Mustard Seed.

Happy Tuesday! It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC128)!   Maki Jones is the challenge host this week and it is all about Christmas.  We are celebrating Christmas in July!  All of the Flourishes Christmas stamp sets are on sale for 20% off.    So, let's get Merry and knock out a few Christmas cards....in July!  Looking forward to seeing your festive creations!

For my card I am using Flourishes Rejoice set.    I stamped the image using versamark on to Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock   and gold embossed.  I  used colored glitter in some soft green and crystal that I adhered with the Quickie glue pen.  I layered the image with Spellbinder's Fleur De Lis Rectangle.  I finished with a cream colored seam binding bow, cream cotton lace trimming,  and a gold star button.  I have tried to take a picture that shows the gold embossing and sparkle on the Rejoice image.  A little hard to capture.

Thankful and a little Blog Candy!

I made another card for  ODBD Stamping In Time: On Assignment Challenge(SNTODBD39)! The assignment is to recycle.  I was cleaning my crafting space and found this butterfly on the floor that I know I used on  a card before.  Oh, dear!   Anyway, it works great for this challenge. I am choosing to recycle it!

I am using Chupa's weekly sketchbook 20.  Look....no bow!  I kept my card pretty much clean and simple!  Trying to follow the sketch was not easy. I so wanted to add a bow!     I did sew on it, rock and roll, added some glitter, and used the stamp a ma jig for the perfect placement of my "Thankful" word.   All in all still pretty CAS for me!    I am using ODBD Butterfly single, butterfly die, Vintage Border Background, the newly released Large Scrapbook Words, and ODBD Exclusive Elegant Ovals Spellbinder dies!  I am really enjoying these big words!  While the title says scrapbook words, I love them on cards, too!  Also, look how beautifully the Vintage Border Background coordinates with the SU pattern paper.

I have a little blog candy offer for you!  I am using the new SU In Color Island Indigo on my card!  I just got my little order a few days ago.  I bought two  paper packs.  I got the NEW In Color Collection and the First Edition Specialty dsp!  I always cut my 12 x 12 papers into 6 x6 squares.  I thought I would give a 6X6 section of both packs as some blog candy as a little thank you to all my blog supporters.  That is 64 sheets of 6 X 6 pattern papers.  For this little chunk of candy,  I will also throw in a few yards of some hugs snugs seam binding.  All you have to do is leave me a comment here on this post!  You have until 6pm Wednesday,  July 27th!  I will announce the winner next Thursday on the new ODBD Stamping In Time Challenge post here on my blog!

A True Friend! Viva La Verve and MORE!

Happy Sunday!  I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend!  I made this card for this week's Viva La Verve(VLVJUL2011) sketch challenge.   Maureen(aka Moe) is this week's sketch host.  Moe has designed a fun sketch for us!   It was fun to the different papers to add to the sketch.   I chose to use some of My Mind's Eye designer papers For A Girl.  I really tried to stay as close to the sketch as possible.  I did have to turn my rectangle element alittle since I made it an little envy with a tag inside.

I am using Verve's Hundred's HeartsText Objects, Sweet Scallop Tag, and New Mercies stamp sets.  I am also using Verve's Jotted Heart die, Sweet Scallop die, and Charming Oval dies(small oval for tiny tag).

Here is a close up of the pocket and the tag!  All pictures can be seen larger by clicking onto them.  I die cut the heart out of glitter cardstock.

As always, thanks so much for stopping by!

ODBD Stamping In Time Challenge and more!

It is time for  ODBD Stamping In Time: On Assignment Challenge(SNTODBD39)! The assignment is to use Our Daily Bread Design stamps. The challenge this rotation is  to reuse or recycle.      Remember, the more you play the more you increase your chance to win! We look forward to seeing what you create using ODBD stamps!

For my card I am using ODBD Scripture Collection 6, Porch, Serve the Lord, and Dahlia stamp sets.  Today's card is more about reusing and using items a bit differently than before, as well as using items for something other than there intended purpose.

Whenever I craft, I oftentimes cut out lots of different dies and play around with looks for my cards.  I never throw away a die cut piece of cardstock so I keep a stash of precuts in a basket to pull out for a later use.  Today's assignment is perfect for using and reusing some of my precut stash.

After looking at some of the Spellbinder's new release blog frenzy this week, I decided to play around with my Spellbinder's Fleur de Lis squares, Fancy Tags Two, Fancy Tags Three, and Nested Lacey Pennants.

Grand Calibur cuts all these wonderfully detailed die cuts out beautifully and with one pass.  Like butter I tell you.  The picture at the top shows the Square Fleur de Lis  die cut in half and put on the card front saloon door styling.  It is open from the top and the bottom with a slight overlap in the center.  The center focal panel is die cut and I centered.  I used the strip in the Nested Lacey Pennants and double ended cut it to create a V cut tab at both ends. I used the sentiment from ODBD Serve the Lord set to stamp inside this pennant.  It was placed perfectly with the stamp a ma jig

The center insert was double ended die cut with one of the tags from Fancy Tags Two.  See picture.  The black cardstock and ivory cardstock are 3 3/8" wide and tucked under and cut to create a new look for a frame.  I staggered the top and bottom just a bit to show the black coming out from behind for added detail and definition.  I stamped the vintage border image from Porch across the top of the panel and the bottom with some chamomille ink.  I cut a square and stamped one of the scripture from ODBD Scripture Collection 6 in the center and once again used the stamp a ma jig for perfect placement.  I added some touches of the dahlia flower using some berry sorbet ink stamped off for a more subtle soft look.

The cameo and circle flower were reused jewelry items purchased from Micheal's.  I cut the circle off of a fabric collar and attached on top of my seam binding bow.   I cut the cameo off of a bracelet item.

As always thanks so much for stopping by!  Check out another sample for the challenge designed by Grace Nywening.

Flourishes Bee My Honey and a New Release Challenge!

Hello everyone!  It is Wednesday and me and a few of the Flourishes designers have a new set called Bee My Honey  we are showcasing today along with a  challenge!   It's one where -- if you play along -- you could win Flourishes entire release for July! Pretty exciting, right?

Today's challenge is a sketch!  Cool and easy peasy!   It has been ages I tell you since I created a horizontal A2 sized card.   I am using the new Bee My Honey  stamp set.  I am using some of my Webster's Pages dp along with some of Pink Paislee Sweetness dp.  I stamped the floral image using Memento Rhubarb ink onto Flourishes Classic Ivory Cardstock.  I layered some Spellbinder's dies.  I added some sparkle using a must have glue pen, a few pearls,  and finished with a seam binding bow.

Check out the Flourishes blog to find out how to play along!  Check out the other designers creations using the new Bee My Honey  set and the sketch!

I am using the wonderful colors from CRE84FN33 Challenge!

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC126)!

Happy Tuesday! It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC126)!   Cindy Haffner is the challenge host this week.  She is challenging us to wet or dry embossing!  Easy and fun!  Looking forward to seeing what you create!

For my card I chose to go somewhat clean and simple today. I am using the Thinking of You and Vintage Wallpaper background stamp sets.  I stamped the Vintage Wallpaper onto Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock with versamark and heat embossed with black embossing powder.  I added a border punch, some houndstooth ribbon, and topped with a wrinkled ribbon bow.  Wrinkle ribbon to me is a fancy name for seam binding.  It does have a slightly more silky feel and  seems thicker.  It is wonderful and fabulous!  I am using the rich burgandy color on my card.  It is a must have and needed in all colors. Try wetting it for a more shabby chic look.

Check out the other blog team designers to see what they created!

Viva La Verve! Winnie the Pooh says.....

Happy Sunday! This card is for Week 2 of the Viva La Verve July sketch challenge (VLVJul2011). Tosh is the host this week. Great sketch, Tosh!

I am using Verve
Thankful Accents and Smallest Things Plain Jane sets. I layered some spellbinders with Verve's Vintage Oval die.

It has been a tough week this week.  Our dog Lex died suddenly.  We think his stomach flipped.  It happened so fast.  He is quite a large dog.  From the time he was not acting like his chirper self to collapsing and passing was less than 50 minutes.  It was so sad!  In addition to that, my computer crashed and I had to do a system recovery.  I cannot open my files I thought I saved so I have no picture on my computer to even post a pic of Lex.   Anyway, I have not blogged like I should and for this I apologize!  I will try to get caught up this week!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by!

Give Yourselves Fully!

Happy Saturday!  I had a busy week and finally had a chance to play in my craftroom today!
Inspiration Challenge(IC292)! I chose this item for my inspiration from the Posh Vintage site.

I just had to ink up this newly released single Hydrangea image from ODBD.  It is the perfect size and easy to color and cut out.  I colored with copics and added a few touches of sparkle which do not show in this picture. I layered two of the hydrangea images here and chose to let the flowers with the scripture from Serve the Lord be the focus.  I did use the Crocheted Background stamped lightly with versamark onto the craft to create a bit of pattern along with the framed cuttlebug background.   I layered Spellbinder's Beaded Oval with petite scallop and petite ovals to complete my card.

I am entering this into the following challenges:
