December PTI Blog Hop!

Happy Saturday!  I got some new PTI goodies for Christmas so I just had to get inky!
I am playing along with this month's Papertrey Ink's Blog Hop.  I started with the distressed dotted background in pure poppy.  I popped up this panel using fun foam.  I die cut the Tag Sale: Quilted die in pure black.  To give some new life to an older die, I used the Mat Stack 4 die as a stencil and just outlined the edges with a white gel pen to recreate the look of the white frame from the inspiration photo.  I white embossed the scripture sentiment from Phrases & Praises stamp set.  I sponged some white pigment ink around the edges and over top.  I added some foam tap to this tag as well as some black and white twine.  To ground this frame tag a bit, I used half of a doily die cut placed at a slight angle behind it to create some balance on the right side.

I used three of the same stamped sprigs from the Spruces and Sprigs set.  Two have new leaf ink the other one simply chartreuse.  For the flowers, I layered the tiny flowers from Graceful Greetings.  I finished my card with a few random white gel dots.

Muse Christmas Visions Challenge CVC33!

Happy Wednesday!  It is the 3rd Wednesday of the month and time for  MUSE:  Christmas Vision Card Club Challenge!

For my card, I die cut a PTI Fresh Snow Linen card stock panel with Stitched Rectangles die.  I masked off an oval in the center using PTI Shakers and Sprinkles Oval die.  I used Mustard Seed Shimmer Mist and just flicked all around the card this golden shimmery specks.   I stamped the Navity from Petite Places: Nativity Mini Stamp set.  I added a bit of shimmer pen to the night star.  I love the simplicity of this design.

I hope my card inspires you to create a Christmas creation of your own.  I can't wait to see what you create.  Make sure you link up your creations HERE!

Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge: Milk & Cookies!

It's time for a new Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge!

 ( brit.co)

The LEAD of this challenge will be invited to be a Guest Designer in an upcoming challenge!

For my card I decided to make gingerbread snowflake cookies.  I started with some kraft card stock.  I die cut the snowflakes using Verve's Snowflake Tidings die set.  I used Verve's Glad Tidings set to stamp the snowflakes and white emboss.  I used Ranger Distress inks in Brushed Corduroy and Vintage Photo to create the look of gingerbread.  I die cut a tag from Verve's Flag It die set to stamp the sentiment from the same stamp set.  I finished my card with a few die cut hearts from Verve's From the Heart die set. I even used a few of the chads from the die cuts to add a few touches of embellishments to the card.  I am also playing along with Retro Sketch#194.

For my card I chose to create a fun and colorful background to mimic the cup of colorful ornaments in the inspiration piece.  I chose four colors of ink and used my round blending tools to create the concentrated color circles.  I added some doodles to add a bit of whimsy.  Next, I die cut Verve's Flourished Tag die set.  I stamped a sentiment from Verve's Get Together stamp set.  I die cut a cup from Cup of Cheer die set in black card stock and embossed this fun white polka dotted coffee mug.  I finished my card with a few tiny stars from Verve's Hocus Pocus and Aqua Skies Shaker Mixes.

Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge: Dear Santa!

It's time for a new Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge!

 ( blesserhouse.com)

The LEAD of this challenge will be invited to be a Guest Designer in an upcoming challenge!

When I saw the inspiration piece I just knew that the PTI Holiday Folk set would be perfect.  Instead of using the actual stamp set, I decided on a piece of the patterned linen paper.  I literally trimmed the paper, added a layer of gold foil card stock behind and popped it all up onto a pure poppy card base.  I added a couple of sequins and my card was finished.  I really love the clean simplicity of this festive card.

Muse Christmas Visions 25 Days of Christmas Tags!

Welcome to Muse:  Christmas Vision 30!  Today, MCV is sponsoring Day 24 of Tracey's The 25 Days of Christmas Tags event. There are prizes to be won on Tracey's Blog "In My Creative Opinion" and also at MCV. Make sure you go and check out the details!

The whole MCV Design Team (and some special guests) are playing along today. The MCV Tag theme is red and green with a tree element.

Here is my tag!

I started with a die cut watercolor paper tag.  I watercolored the background and let it dry.  I added a coating of Wink of Stella all over the background.  Next, I stamped my sentiment from Verve's Christmas in the Air stamp set several times using my MISTI.

I die cut two Verve's Winter Fun die set Christmas trees in red and green glitter card stock and added to the tag.

I added some red and white twine, two bells, and a few of Verve's Shine Bright Sequin Mix, and my tag was ready to go.  I just love all of the sparkle!

Muse Christmas Visions Challenge CVC29!

Happy Wednesday!  It is the 3rd Wednesday of the month and time for  MUSE:  Christmas Vision Card Club Challenge!

I die cut the Sentiments Splits:Curve Vertical die in pure poppy.  I only used the top portion. I glued it to a PTI  white card stock base.  I then die cut and stamped Spruce and Sprigs onto stampers white card stock using pinefeather, pure poppy, and new leaf inks.  I die cut a few of the sprigs with gold foil card stock.

I created the arrangement and popped a few pieces up using foam mounting tape.  I stamped the "Merry" in black using the Christmas Cheer stamp set.  I die cut the "Christmas" using Christmas Cheer dies in gold foil.  I love the card as it is and felt it really did not need any further embellishing.

Whether you are inspired by the colors, the gold, the spruce and sprigs, or just the festive layers, I hope my card inspires you to create a Christmas creation of your own.  I can't wait to see what you create.  Make sure you link up your creations HERE!

Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge: Foxy!

It's time for a new Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge!

 (modcloth.com)

The LEAD of this challenge will be invited to be a Guest Designer in an upcoming challenge!

This challenge has perfect timing.  I needed an Anniversary card for my hubby of 22 years!  I knew he would just LOVE this one.  I started with some ranger inks and watercolor paper.  I did the smooshing technique with a kick.  I used vintage photo, brushed corduroy, scattered straw, tea dye, and peeled paint inks.

For the most part, I used my heat gun to dry the colors in between so it would not get muddy.  However, I did not thoroughly dry the last color before I added the versamark splatters with a watercolor brush.  Next, I heat embossed the versamark splatters in gold.  Some of the splatters ran once they hit the wet watercolor paper giving this really cool look when embossed.   I tried to get a picture of the effect.  I die cut and stamped the fox using more watercolor paper then actually watercolored the fox.  He is very clever and sly this one.  He blends in to the background.  So very Foxy!  I am playing along with this week's CAS(E) this Sketch!
