January Papertrey Ink Blog Hop!

Happy Thursday!  I have a card to share today for this month's PTI Blog Hop Challenge!

For my card I focused on several of the elements in the inspiration photo.   I started with some soft stone bitty big pattern paper.  I chose the large plaid pattern which I die cut using the largest of the stitched rectangle dies. To this I added the Mix and Mat:  Pretty Brackets die. stamped this frame using harvest gold, sweet blush, aqua mist, and spring rain inks Background Basics: Celestial Skies to mimic confetti.

Next, I die cut and stamped the dogwood branch from Warm Regards stamp set. .  I love this set! I used PTI pale peony, hibiscus burst, berry sorbet, simply chartreuse, green parakeet, and prairie grass inks.  I layered two of the  die cut sprigs for added dimension and stability. Next, I add PTI spiral notebook page die in kraft and stamped repeatedly with the "happy birthday" from Birthday Strings Mini stamp set using PTI kraft ink. I added a die cut from Doily details die in aqua mist bitty big pattern paper.

I just had to add a couple of the small Brushed Birds stamp set.  I die cut and stamped both using PTI harvest gold, bright buttercup, and a touch of saffron spice for one and spring rain and blueberry sky for the other.  I die cut the sentiment strip using Wine Bottle Tag #2 die and stamped the sentiment from Never Enough Birthday stamp set.  I finished my card with a few clear sequins.

I am also playing along with the Tic Tac Toe Challenge!  I used the top row!

As always thanks so much for hopping by!

You Fill my Life with Love!

Happy Sunday!  Popping in with a card to share.  I am playing along with a couple of blog challenges.  I also sort of have a self-imposed challenge.  I try to use everything I order from one Papertrey Ink order til the next time I order.  Meaning no new stuff can be left unused before new stuff arrives.  I have a PTI package arriving tomorrow.  Yikes!   I know....first world problems and all that.   However, I realized I had not even used my Mix and Mat: Heart die.  How did I miss that?  By the way...Love it!

I layered the large heart frame with the lovely lady bitty big striped paper in the background.  I die cut the hearts in red.  I inlaid all of the hearts.  In some areas I actually double layered the red hearts.  Also, at the very last.... for an extra finishing touch, I added some tiny white glitter hearts to three of the already stacked hearts.

I die cut the wine bottle tag #2 large sentiment strip and stamped it with a sentiment from Pen and Ink stamp set.  I popped it up with some foam tape.  I did add a few clear sequins to finish the card. Even with the inlaid pieces, my card is still clean and simple.

I am playing along with this week's The Paper Players,  and Inspired by All the Little Things(I was inspired by all the icing hearts with overlay elements).

Happy Birthday: Viva La Verve Sketch Recap!

Happy Friday!  I am popping in with another card for this month's Verve    Viva La Verve Sketch.

This card is just screaming with primary colors and patterns.  I needed  a male birthday card so I think this works.  I started out with some fun pattern papers from my stash.  I used Verve  Falling LeavesFlourised Tag,  and Starry Die die sets to create the balloons. For the main balloon I used Verve's Small Packages  stamp set to stamp the sentiment.

Next, I die cut a few of the and Wavy Hearts  stars to embellish a few of the balloons with star accents.  I added some 1/4" grosgrain ribbon and frayed the edges for some added detailing.  I finished my card with a few clear sequins.

I am playing along with Seize the Birthday and Tic Tac Toe Challenge

Hover in the Moments!

Happy Wednesday!  We were out of school today due to impending snowstorm.  We do have some snow, but it is the South, so any amount incapacitates us.  We are just not used to it. Schools out tomorrow, too!   Anyway, I had a chance to get crafty today.  I am playing along with this month's Papertrey Ink Create Along With Us Challenge.  I was inspired by Melissa Phillips card HERE.

I started with the Mix and Mat Postal die.  I die cut some stampers select white along with some Chicken Scratch Gingham.  I created a pocket with the gingham piece.  I added lace detailing as well as some twine.  I sponged Pale Peony onto the background using the smaller of the Dots Stencils.  I created my tag using a Half and Half die cut down to fit inside the pocket. I stamped it using a text background set that I cannot find in the store.  I used versamark.  Next, I die cut and stamped the floral sprigs from Spring Woods.  I die cut and stamped the butterfly from Pretty Peony and layered with butterfly from Love Lives Here die.

I stamped a sentiment form Pen and Ink onto the top butterfly as well as a different sentiment onto the tag using versafine onyx black ink.  I tied some seam binding ribbon to my tag.  Since my postal portion is smaller, I chose to add it to a kraft card base which I stamped with the Background Basics: Birch in versamark.  I inked around the edges in versamark to create some depth.   I finished my card with some clear sequins.  I used PTI pale peony, autumn rose, cocoa bean, prairie grass, and harvest gold inks.

Wishes on Your Birthday!

I am popping in with a card to share.  I had several things going on today so between making a card, taking pictures, and doing a blog post, it has been an all day event.  I wanted to play along with this week's Papertrey Inks Make It Monday Challenge.  I am also using the sketch for CASE this Sketch.

I started with PTI  Woodblock Stencil collection.  I created a gradient background with the two-step stencil blending inks from darker to lighter from bottom to top.  I white embossed the top stencil.  I used a portions of Fresh Bouquet stamp set to create my floral clusters, or, in this case, buds.

I layered the wishes sentiment using stampers select white and lovely lady card stocks.  I added some autumn rose to the bottom for added detail and dimension.  I added some wink of stella to all of the berries and the die cut sentiment.  The stamped sentiment is from Huge Sentiments.  The stamped frame is from Pretty Peonies Anniversary set(retired).  I finished the card with a few clear sequins.

You Are Just My Type!

Happy Monday!  After several days of snow and freezing temperatures, school resumes tomorrow on a 2-hour delayed schedule.   It sure has been fun getting crafty over the past several days.  I have a card to share today playing along with a couple of blog challenges.  Fusion Card Challenge 4th Anniversary Celebration, and The Paper Players Punny Valentine.

I created a water smooshed background.  I used PTI  Be Mine, Valentine stamp set and coordinating dies.  I also used the the Bitty Big True Black pattern paper with a strip of gold foil.  The sentiment strips were used using elements from Wine Bottle Tag #2. The white embossed hearts and some of the red splatters in the background are from PTI Free set You Are Loved.  The tiny accent hearts are from Mix and Mat Hearts die.  I finished with some loose thread and clear sequins.

God's Love, Wisdom, and Grace: Viva La Verve Sketch!

Happy Friday!  It is a new year and a new month for Viva La Verve Sketch Challenges. I have a card to share using January's  Viva La Verve Sketch.

For my card, I used some distressed 12X12 pattern papers that I have had in my stash for a long while.  I combined Verves   Be BlessedMore than LoveNew MerciesBetter Together stamps for the background, heart, and sentiments on the focal image.

I used Verve dies in  Wavy Hearts Die SetHeart Quartet and the Falling Leaves.  In keeping with the sketch, I layered a piece of pink and white twine that I frayed the ends of once I ties them to go along with the distressed feel of the background paper.  I finished my card with some clear sequins.  I am playing along with DiesRUsChallenge.

Everyday is a Fresh Start!

Happy New Year!  I just had to post a card today.  Crafting more is one of my new year's resolutions.  I am playing along with a couple of blog challenges today.  I made a card for Papertrey Ink Make It Monday Challenge A La Carte.  I found a challenge(several actually) that I did not get to play during the year.  I chose challenge #284: Background stamping with sentiments.

I  started with some dark indigo pattern papers.  I stamped the sentiment from Pen and Ink at an angle using dark indigo ink.  I next die cut and stamped the flowers and leaves using PTI Farmer's Market Florals and Farmer's Market dies.   I arranged the florals around the scalloped frame(which I cannot remember the name nor can I find at PTI...if you know, let me know).  I stamped the same sentiment in dark indigo.  I finished the card with a few clear sequins. I am also playing along with Freshly Made Sketches.  I chose to use a circle instead of a rectangle for the focal image.  I am also playing along with Dragonfly Journeys Fresh Start Challenge.
