Thinking of You with Viva La Verve Sketch

Happy Thursday!  We are still snowed in.    This is the third day out of school and I am going a wee bit stir crazy.    I decided to post this card I made a couple of weeks ago, but had not yet had a chance to post it.  I am playing along with Verve's Viva La Verve Sketch Challenges.  These challenges have now moved to their own blog!  Yippee!  Check out the January Challenges here!  You have until February 6 to post for a chance to win!

For my card I combined some BasicGrey Sugar Rush dp from my stash.  I am using Verve's Accent Notes stamp set along with Verve's Cut Above Banner Bundle die set.  I stamped the focal image in soft gray color and accented a few of the elements with a coordinating Copic marker.  I finished with a few clear gems.

As always thanks so much for stopping by!

Crazy 4 Challenges (C4C219)!

Happy Saturday!  We have a new and fun challenge for you this week at Crazy 4 Challenges!   Check out the C4C blog for more challenge details at Crazy 4 Challenges(C4C219).

This week's challenge is
a sketch!

For my card I am using Verve's Bloom & Grow, Lean on Me, Poppy Birthday, and Remember This stamp sets along with Verve's Cut Above Banner Bundle, Elegant Leaves, and Build a Poppy die sets.   I combined some MME designer papers and added some embossing, distressed the edges, and then added some ink distressing for even more added texture.  I combined some regular stitching with some zigzag stitching to create some varied textures.  I stamped the die cut images and layered with dimensionals.    I finished my card with some Pastel Sequin Mix died to match with a copic marker.  I then added some tiny gold pearls to the center.

Check out what the rest of the team did with this week's challenge!

Crazy 4 Challenges, a Thank You, and Blog Candy Winners!

Happy Saturday!  We have a new and fun challenge for you this week at Crazy 4 Challenges!   Check out the C4C blog for more challenge details at Crazy 4 Challenges(C4C218).

This week's challenge is
 make a 3.5 X 5.5 card!

For my card I am using Verve's Sunny Days, With Love, and You and I  stamp sets along with Verve's Cut Above Rounded Scallop Frame, Flag It Die, and Leafy Sprigs die sets.    I die cut the rounded scallop frame.  I clear embossed the scalloped outer frame with versamark and clear embossing powder.  Then, I stamped the sentiment and heart in versamark and white embossed the inner portion.  I smudged some white pigment ink around edges and a dab or two in the center for effect.  I finished my card with some stamped sprigs as well as adding a seam binding bow in tomato using Verve's Truly Madly Deeply Ribbon Collection.  I am using this week's Mojo Monday Sketch 327.

Since I used Fusion Card Challenge sketch last week, I decided to use the inspiration picture this week.  I found some older Basicgrey paper called June Bug in my discarded stash and thought it would work.  I am calling it "Vintage" Basicgrey.

Check out what the rest of the team did with this week's challenge!

As always thanks so much for stopping by!

The year is shiny and new, so let's add shimmer and shine to our cards.
Think glitter, sequins, rhinestones, pearls, heat embossing - anything with some gloss.

Deconstructed Sketch 132During Christmas break from school, I spent some time cleaning my  craft room.  For my card I am using some "vintage" Basic Grey Sugar Rush designer papers that I found while cleaning.  What I had discarded before, I liked now and thought to give it a try.   I am using Verve's Love Flower and No Matter What stamp sets along with Verve's Cut Above Heart die setI embossed the focal image in Zing embossing powder.  I added red glittered card stock heart dies.  I finished with a seam binding bow in cherry using Verve's Truly Madly Deeply Ribbon Collection.    I  am using Deconstructed Sketch #132   turned to make a vertical card.

Need a little inspiration? Check out the blogs linked below to see what our Divas did with the challenge! It's sure to be a treat, and speaking of treats, we've got a prize for one lucky commenter along the hop! Check out the Verve Blog today for all the prize info and deadlines.

an inspiration piece!  Get inspired and create a card or project using the photo below!

For my card I am using Verve's Borderline and Celebration of Thanks stamp sets along with Verve's Cut Above Mini Vintage Oval and Starry die sets.  I die cut, layered, and stamped the frames.  I die cut the stars with black glittered card stock.   I added my sentiment.    I added a golden sun seam binding bow using Verve's Summer Sailing Ribbon Collection  top with coordinating threaded button.  I finished my card with Verve's Pastel Sequin Mix dyed to match in black using a Copic 100.

I am playing along with FUSION Card Challenge.  I chose to use the sketch only since the C4C has an inspiration picture.
