Stamptacular Sunday Challenge, Blog Candy Winner, Color Throwdown, and MORE!

Happy Sunday!  It is tme for Stamptacular Sunday Challenge!  This week's challenge is "Whateva!"  I love these kind of challenges because the sky is the limit.  Cill is also doing a Design Team call!  Check out the link to find out how to play and to enter for the DT call!  We have a wonderful sponsor this week.  Skipping Stones Design is the sponsor.  I am using Skipping Stones Design Dandelion Dreams.  This set has so many wonderful solid image designs and fabulous sentiments.  I chose just one of the images in this set.  I rocked and rolled with some Memento pear tart and bahama inks.  I  stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment to make two separate words for my sentiment tags.  I added a few MS butterflies and my card was done.  Check out the link and play along with us today!

I am using the colors from The Color Throwdown #126.  I have to admit that oftentimes four colors throw me a bit...hence the throwdown part I guess.  However, the greens really did me in. Making sure I used both.  I am using some Webster's dp which looks a lot like old olive.  I am also using Memento pear tart ink on my image which looks like kiwi kiss.  So, I hope I at least achieved those colors.  I hope the other two are quite obvious.

I used somebodies sketch, but I cannot remember whose?
Sketch and Stash:  Sketch!
OSCC:  Anything Goes!
SSDSC: Get Punchy!
Totally Gorjuss:  As YOU Like It!
Just Add Ink:  Inspiration Challenge
Crafty Cardmakers:  Flowers
Crafty Catz:  Flowers
Inky Impressions:  Emboss It!
MTTCC:  Emboss!

I just had to share!  I am totally smittened with seam binding.  I used cream on my card today.   This cream color is just as it comes off of the spool....bottom right of photo.  I spent a little bit of time today dyeing this wonderful stuff with various reinkers.  I only did a few yards at a time.  I just screamed with delight when they were dried.  I am IN LOVE with this stuff.  WOW!  Thought I'd share!

The Winner Is......
As promise the winner from my Flourishes FTTC Blog Candy!  Chosen by random.org is Glennis #36  Glennis please email me at gbedwright@gmail.com to claim your sel and send me your addy.    Thanks so much for everyone who commented!

Stamptacular Sunday Challenge, CTD, ODBDSLC, and MORE!

It is time for another Stamptacular Sunday Challenge!   "Who says three's a crowd?"  This week we are using three designer papers, three ribbons, and three flowers!                                                                          I am using the sketch for ODBD Shining the Light Challenge(ODBDSLC44)!  I just love sketches.  I also love color combos.  With these two in your hands your card is half done.   I  am using the colors from this week's Color Throwdown 125.  A trio of pear pizzazz, blushing bride, and kraft.  I added expresso as my neutral.   For my card I am using ODBD The Lord Has Risen stamp sets.    I am happy dancing at my latest Mike's find.  While perusing the many isles in Mikes that I forget to check out because I hang out in the paper crafting section mostly, I came across a marked down bag of long stemmed roses in three colors.  Hmmm.  Got me to thinking you know.

I thought as many times as I have added little roses to my card how about some long stremmed ones.  And, if that was not enough the stems are covered and I can make curly ques!  Don't you just love it when something like that comes together for you in unknown kind of ways.  Brace yourself because you will see this one again!  I chose three of the faintest pink roses from the pack.  I curly qued the stems.  I tied together with some natural May Arts twine.  I then added my pink floss bow to the top and adhered my arrangement to the top of my ribbon bow.   I really love how it turned out.

I was not able to make a card for last week's SSC challenge because my sister and I were working on and carrying out our mom and dad's 50th Wedding Anniversary Party!  Here is a picture I snapped of the two of them.  Aren't they just too cute?

Happy 50th Anniversary, Mom and Dad!

On Sunday my son started running a fever of 102.    After a trip to the docs on Monday came back with negative strepp...and something viral.  I pushed the fluids and fever reducers for a few days. Still running fever on Wednesday so headed back to the docs.  He tested positive for the flu!  Oh, JOY!  Since I was around him all week, I woke to a temp on Friday and feeling like someone drug me behind a truck.  Luckily I already had today's card sample made.   It is late Saturday evening and I am feeling a bit better.  No high fever today...just a lowgrade one.   Hopefully, I will be back to my normal self by Monday!

I have entered my card in  few more challenges.
Belli Challenge:  Letter P!  Pattern Paper, pearls, pink, pear pizzazz
Simon Says Challenge:  Bingo (die cuts, embossing, ribbon)
Truly Scrumptious:  Brown Pink and Green
AI Factory:  Anything goes
One Stitch At A Time - as you like it
Penny's Challenge - anything goes

I will try to do some blogging today.  I apologize for being absent with that this week. I was a bit occupied.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

TWO-FER Thursday with MOJO, VLV, and MORE!

Okay, I am home from work today.  Actually, I have been home almost all week with a sick kid.  My son tested positive for the FLU!   Yucky stuff the flu.  Being home gave me a little extra time to play in my craftroom.  I should have cleaned more, but I just could not help myself.  LOL!  The top card is for this week's MOJO 174 Sketch Challenge as well as the CR84FN11 Challenge!      For my card I am using some Verve stamps.  I also found in my designer paper stash while cleaning/straightening up some My Mind's Eye designer paper which I combined with some SU.  I used one of the script sentiments from Verve O Christmas Tree set to added touches script to the background.

Stamps:  Verve Accent Notes, Abundant Blessings, O Christmas Tree sets
Paper:  Ivory, MME, and SU designer papers
Ink:  Memento rich cocoa and rhubarb stalk, PTI camomille
Accessories:  Seam Binding, buttons, metallic dew drops, sponges, sewing machine, gold pearls

Next up is a card I made for Verve's VLVJA2011 Week 3 Sketch Challenge.  I combined it with the colors from this week's Curtain Call Act 65!  I found this amazing double-sided Scenic Route dp in my stash and while there is not much of the pacific point color in there, it is there.  I usually do not do bright colors very often in combo, but I thought I would give these a try.  While brights are not within my comfort zone, I really do like how it turned out.  I again chose to use some of my Verve stamps for this card!  I used Framed Wishes.  I embossed the frame in gold.  I used the quote from Blue Skies!  That Mark Twain was a smart guy, huh?   I used a glue pen to add some sparkle to SMILE!  I stamped one of the flourishes that come in the Blue Skies set using Memento sprout ink.  I added a few touches of gems and realized that the sketch called for both strips to go over the rectangle center. Oh, dear!  Not paying attention!  I improvised and decided that my flourished image was a horizontal point going across on the top.  Ta da!  I really must keep a picture of the sketch in front of me at all times so I can keep up!

Stamps:  Verve Framed Wishes and Blue Skies
Paper:  Ivory, Scenic Route dp
Ink:  Memento rhubarb stalk and sprout, PTI camomille, versamark
Accessories:  MS border punch, red seam binding, PTI button, sponges, sewing machine, gold ep, gold pearls

I entered a few more blog challenges with these cards!
Craft Your Days Away - anything goes
Craft Your Passion - anything goes
Crafty Card Makers - red & a die cut (red both cards, nesties, butterfly punch)
Glenda's Random Amusing challenge - use red(both cards)

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge FTTC101 and MORE!

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge FTTC101!  First of all, I just want to thank all of you who played along with our FTTC100 Celebration Blog Hop!  Gorgeous creations!  Those winners will be announced soon!  This week's challenge is hosted by Dee Jackson!  Dee is challenging us to go BIG!  5 X 7 big that is!   So, go big and make a 5 x7 card with us!  We would love to see what you create!

For my card I am using Flourishes Cherry Blossoms stamp set.  I am using one of the sentiments.     I have been challenging myself to making manly cards lately.  I have several male birthdays coming up and I just thought I would get a head start.  When I saw the WMS30 sketch I just knew it would be perfect for a manly card.  I used various paper pieces and patterns to follow the SCS CC306 Color Combo Challenge. CC306: Bravo Pizzazz Breezes!  Love these colors!

I have included this card in a few blog challenges.
Tip Top Tuesday:  All Sentimental!  Sew Many Challenges: Birthday Celebration!
Craft Your Days AwayAnything Goes  Crafty Pad -  SomethingNEW!  New brads...had but not used
OSAAT- New!  Stamp with the dragon:  For my STUD!The Crazy Challenge:   Buttons(I inserted my decorative brad into the center and created a vintage looking button)! Pile it On:  Anything Goes
Paper Sundaes: Anything but square!Simons Says Stamp and Show:  Polka Dots
Creative Inspiration:  Birthday! Secret Crafter: with LOVE!

TIP:  I am giving new life to my decorative brads by either inserting the prongs into the button holes or cutting the prongs off and adhering with a glue dot to a button.  Makes the button look more expensive and gives a more vintage feel!

I am also including the card that I made for last week's SCS Color Challenge, but have not had a chance to blog yet.  For this card I used Flourishes Warm Winter Wishes set.  I just heart this little snowman(woman)!  I dressed her all up in pinks!   From my post last week at SCS you could not see the sentiment as my big bow covered it up. And, the wonderful touches of sparkle on the snowlady was not visible from the initial picture.

The  right photo shows you where the sentiment lurks under the pink bow.  I added a clear gem to the center of the "O" for a touch of sparkle.  The little snow lady shows a few touches of glitter added with a glue pen.  Love the glue pens.  Let's you put touches of glitter exactly where you want it.

As always thanks so much for stopping by!  Check out the other Flourishea blog team members and see what they created with the Go Big Challenge!

Flourishes FTTC100 Celebration Blog Hop!

Welcome to Flourishes Timeless Tuesday 100th Celebration Blog Hop!  To celebrate 100 Flourishes FTTC Challenges, we are having a hop and it starts NOW!  Check out the link to find out how to play along with us!  Everyone can play and anyone can win!  You have until midnight tonight to link up and all weekend to hop around!

For my card I am using Flourishes Sunflowers stamp set.  I stamped the flower using Memento tuxedo black onto Flourishes Classic ivory cardstock.(My favorite in either white or ivory).  I colored with Flourishes Copic Color Collection.  For this particular card I was going for more muted tones to coordinate with the inspiration photo.  I chose the sketch from Sweet Sunday Sketch(SSCC99)!  I am using color inspiration from the Play Date Cafe Challenge 64!  To add to  my list of favorites, I really love large flowers.  My favorites are hydrangea, hibiscus, and sunflower.  I love coloring with copics, cutting out, and popping up big flowers.  I am  using some of my favorite Webster's Pages designer paper.  While this pack has Christmas patterns, many still work since the paper is double-sided.  I am a also adding  as part of my patterns some BasicGrey manilla dp.  I added my favorite gold pearls, layered Spellbinders, embossing folder(swiss dot), dimensionals, and seam binding.  I also used some wonderful BasicGrey kraft brads to dress up my button on my bow.  I just insert the brad prongs into the button holes and wrap and you have instant vintage buttons.  Love this look!
This may be a new favorite!  I also love to add some sponge detailing.  Here, the focal image gets some Ranger Ink scattered straw accenting.

Thanks so much for stopping by and enjoy the hop!

The assignment is Our Daily Bread Design stamps.  Sarah Nelson is our challenge host this rotation.   Sarah Nelson is challenging us to  "All Creatures Great and Small!"  Any creatures great and small work for this challenge.  So, without too much direction, we want you to interpret it the way you want.    We looking forward to seeing what you create using Our Daily Bread Design stamps

For the top card I am using ODBD Sing for Joy stamp set.  My little creature is the newly released butterfly stamp and buttefly die cut.   I am using the sketch from SFYTT January 2011.  The colors are from Stacey's Curtain Call Act 64
Check out the samples made by the ODBD designers and challenge host! Randi Grace  Angie  Chrissy Fran Lorelie and Sarah

I also made another card.  This card uses the newly released ODBD set called Faith. I am using the sketch from Midnight  Madness MMSC86.  I am using the colors from Color Throwdown 124.    For this card I was going with more of a CAS styling, but using the colors from the challenge as the dominant colors with very little white showing.  For the image, I stamped it and cut it out with ODBD Tag Die cut.  I decided to color the background only.  I used soft hues of blues.  I added a touch of my copics C1 to the branch and to the butterflies.  I next topped them off with some glitter.  I love the final effect.  I finished my card with some texture, button and bow, and some flourished bling.  Here is a picture of the butterflies up close.  I was trying to capture more of the sparkle.

Happy Sunday everyone!  It is time for Stamptacular Sunday Challenge!  This week we have a wonderful sketch challenge.   Check out the link to find out how to play along with us!

I am super excited because I was chosen to a guest designer for this week's CR84FN Challenge!  This week Mona has chosen some gorgeous colors!   The colors for this week are lavender, aqua, yellow, and green (CR84FN10)! Gorgeous selection! Makes me think of spring!  For my card I am using Waltzingmouse Labels 10 stamp set and PTI sentiment set.   I layered on my Spellbinder's Beaded Ovals, petite oval scallops, petite ovals, and my Label 10.  All cut with my Grand Calibur which makes cutting multiple standard sized die cuts in one pass a dream!  My patter papers are a mixture of Memory Box and Webster's Pages.  I was actually able to find some aqua thread in my stash and used it to add a touch more aqua.  I stamped the WMS Label 10  frame in aqua mist and stamped the sentiment in Memento grape jelly.  I sponged inside the Spellbinder's stencils with a soft yellow ink.  I finished with some soft green butterflies and seam binding.

I also played along with a few other blog challenges! Back in a few to link those!
