Happy Birthday, C4C and MORE!

Happy Saturday, everyone!  It is time for another challenge with the crazies at Crazy 4 Challenges(C4C156).   Andrea is the hostess for September.     This week she challenges us to use leaves on our creations!   Check out the link to see who the sponsor is this week and for a chance at prices!

For the challenge I chose to make a Happy Birthday card just to show you a fun way to add leaves to any theme really.  I am using Verve's newly released Borderline and Doodled Occasions along with Sunny Days stamp sets.  I am using Verve's Mini  Classy Label and Leafy Sprigs die sets.  I am using this week's I Spy Sketches 35.  I am also playing along with the Kraft Journal:  Make it Monday "Clean and Simple Challenge."

I am using some Echo Park For the Record 2 Documented designer paper along with an embossed kraft card stock background panel that I not only inked distressed but also added versamark to rich it up a bit.   I try to keep the card pretty simple in keeping with the sketch.  I did add some rustic twine with a few textured corrugated leaves and a number for a charm.  I added two additional die cut leaves in black that I stamped with the coordinating leafy sprigs stamp using versamark for a more subtle look.  I stamped the Classy Label die frame and layered with the companion mini die cut which is slightly larger.  I used a sentiment from Doodled Occasions where the font I think is in keeping with a whimsical Birthday card for my nephew who is turning 4!

Check out what the rest of the team did with this week's challenge!

As always thanks so much for stopping by!

For my card I am using ODBD You Are the Potter stamp set and Vine background stamp.

I am using some Echo Park For the Record 2 Tailored designer papers.  I combined four different patterns in keeping with the sketch.  I inked distressed all panels and stitched.  I stamped the focal panel background with the Vine Background in a golden color for a subtle background and to add another color and pattern.

I stamped the clay pots that come in the set and colored with copics.  To add a just kiln look finished I clear embossed them twice using versamark and clear ep.  I cut out and adhered to the Vine background circle.  I added a few touches of shadow with a C1 copic marker.    I added an ink distressed coordinated seam binding bow top with matching twined knotted button.   I finished with a scripture pennant tag that I stapled with with a criss cross pattern for a stitched look.  I am using this wonderful sketch from Sketch N Stash.  I chose to use an A2 size instead of square.  My stash is something new.  I am using a new Vine background stamp.

For the challenge I chose to make a thank you card.  I am using Verve's newly released Treasured Words  along with Love Notes, Making a Statement, and Kindred Spirits stamp sets.  I am using Verve's Rounded Scallop Frame, Classy Label, and Loopy Blooms die sets.  I am using this week's Mojo Sketch 259.

I am using BasicGrey Clippings designer papers. I layered my elements, ink distressed, stitched the background, and added my layered framed sentiment panel.  I added two offset layered pennants one in corrugated card board the other in patterned paper.  I finished with some nail heads, seam binding bow topped with felt loopy bloom and button all adorned with two corsage pins.

ODBD Shining the Light Challenge, DP by ME, and MORE!

Happy Thursday!  I finally got a chance to play in my craft room this afternoon.  I have been busy this week doing some fall cleaning.  My card today is for this week's ODBD Shining the Light Challenge(ODBDSLC123).  We are to stamp our background with either a background stamp or use one stamp repeatedly.  I chose to do both for my background design.

I am using ODBD newly released Scripture Series 3 stamp set along with God's Love, God's Hands, and Randi's Song.

I combined some kraft, ivory, and wisteria card stocks.  I stamped using a fine linen ink the grunge butterfly image from God's Love all over the back.  This shade gave a more tonal look on the kraft and is hard to capture on camera.  I also stamped the wisteria with some lavender Memento ink, but ended up covering up most of that panel with an ivory panel stamped in the same linen ink.  This panel shows a little better, but the other elements on the card sort of cover it up, too.  LOL!  Trust me when I say all panels were stamped.  The wisteria fishtail was stamped with the script stamp from Randi's song with lavender ink.  Again, since it is so tonal hard to capture on camera, but all looks great in real life.

I am using Deconstructed Sketch No. 69. I layered the focal image with the God's Hand image stamped in  linen onto ivory.  I then stamped the scripture over with Memento black.  I ink distressed all the panels, added some stitching, a coffee dyed seam binding bow, button, and two corsage pins to finish the card.

As always thanks so much for stopping by!

Wonderfully Made, C4C, and MOJO!

Happy Saturday, everyone!  It is time for another challenge with the crazies at Crazy 4 Challenges(C4C154).   Andrea is the hostess for September.     This week she challenges us to  'Anything Goes with a Fall Twist'Check out the link to see who the sponsor is this week and for a chance at prices!

I am using Verve's newly released Wonderful Made and Borderline stamps along with Love Notes.  I am using Verve's Mini Bookplate die set.  I am using this week's Mojo Sketch 258.

I am using Echo Park designer papers.  I chose the stitch pattern for its wonderful rich fall colors.  I also was thinking that in the fall we go to area fall festivals and see all the wonderful handmade crafts and quilts created by the locals.  I chose this sentiment, too, because it went with my take on the anything goes with a fall twist theme.

Check out what the rest of the team did with this week's challenge!

If you got here from beautifully talented Tosh's Blog you are in the right place.

I have two cards to share with you today both using ODBD Blessings  stamp set.  For the top card I combined the sentiment with some Glitz Yours Truly designer papers.   I added some ink distressing, paper distressing, and finished with an ivory twine topped with coordinating button.  I am using this wonderful sketch from ISPY Sketches ISSC32.

For my second card, I am using October Afternoon's Woodland Park dp.  I am also using the sketch from Retro Sketches RS#28.  I have to say this card came together so quick and easy I felt like I needed to make a second one.  Which is why I have two.  This sketch is so clean and simple.  A different look for me, but I so love how it turned out.  I really had to control myself not to add any embellies.    I recently purchased Spellbinders Matting Basics A & B.  For this cool cut out frame on my card, I combined one of the A dies with a regular spellbinders square die.  The sentiment is stamped on a piece the A basic cut in ivory.   Then I created the cut out frame with the two dies to pop up over the top.

For my card today I am using Verve's Bright Spirits stamp set.  I am also using Verve's Cut Above Pennant Trim and Winter Fun dies.
I realized the other day that I had no Christmas cards made yet this year.  Usually I have several completed by now so when December rolls around I have a stash ready to mail.  Makes for one less thing to have on my Christmas "to do" list.  Yikes!   I must get busy!

For this card I broke out some new MME Christmas papers.  I chose to go with more neutral muted tones for this card and let some of the paper's images work for me.  I let the sentiment and sparkly accents be the pop this Christmas card needed for completion.  I am using this week's Mojo Monday sketch257.  I layered my papers, glittered card stock die cuts, added my sentiments, and finished with a seam binding bow.  I totally love the pennant trim die, but I love it even more cut with this glitter card stock.  And, while this tree die cut has a stamp to go with it, it is still beautiful cut with just the glitter card stock.

As always thanks so much for stopping by!  Enjoy the hop!  Next up is the super talented Jen d.'s Blog!

Hello!  I am Betty Wright!  Welcome to the United States of America!   I live in the state of North Carolina!   For my card I am using Flourishes Medallion Motif, From the Heart, and Tiny Flowers and Tags stamp sets.  I am using Flourishes Classic White card stock.  I stamped the medallion motif with Memento tuxedo black ink.  I colored with Flourishes Copic Color Collections  in Evergreen.

I die cut the medallion motif with Spellbinder's Label 22.  For the center I used Spellbinder's Beaded circles die.  I then used two smaller Spellbinder's Circles for the dotted frame that comes in the Medallion Motif set as well as one for the Miss You sentiment that also comes in this set.  For the sentiment circle I also used the tiny leafy image from the Tiny Flowers and Tags set.  I just stamped it over and over til circle was full.  The background was stamped using the small flourished image in the From the Heart set.  I stamped it to some avocado paper using Memento tuxedo black in as well.  The edges of all the white and avocado papers was ink distressed with Ranger Brushed Corduroy ink.  I finished with a cream seam binding bow topped with a flourished gold button from from stash.

I hope you've enjoyed your visit in America!   The next stop on your Beautiful World Tour is....

For my card I am using the new set called Scripture Series 3.   I combined it with some new October Afternoon Woodland Park dp that I received in the mail just this week.  I chose these two fun patterns for my card today.  I chose to focus on corals and pinks with these papers.  I ink distressed and stitched the panels.  I added the largest of the Spellbinder's Nested Hearts that I heavily stenciled.  I used this shape because it goes so beautifully with the scripture.  I used the stamp a ma jig to position the scripture perfectly and finished it off with some touches of pearls.  However, when my card was complete,  it still looked like something was missing.  I played around with some papers and finally decided that this decorative oval doily worked beautifully behind the heart for a fun scalloped frame design.  It took two to complete the look.  I love its grand appearance.

As always thanks so much for stopping by!
From here I’ll send you on to Julie's blog!

Without You! C4C152 and MORE!

Happy Saturday, everyone!  It is time for another challenge with the crazies at Crazy 4 Challenges(C4C152).   Andrea is the hostess for September.     This week she has a color challenge for us.  We are to use  Halloween colors purple, orange, and green. I do not think it has to be a Halloween themed project or card unless you want it to be.

I am using Verve's Tag Time, Always on My Mind, and Dream Big stamp sets.  I am also using Verve's Scalloped Flowers, Tagged Rectangle, Dreamy Leaves, and Pennant Trim Cut Above Dies.

I sort of got carried away with all these fun colors.  I stamped the focal tag frames with both Marmalade and Dusty Concord Ranger inks.  I softly stamped onto the green colored felt the Dream Big leaves and die cut with the Dreamy Leaves dies.(Not sure if one should ever stamp onto felt, but the ink police were nowhere in sight. Ha!  Besides, I love the soft look).    I layered the larger scalloped flowers die using purple felt with a corrugated cardboard smaller scallop flowers die that I heavily ink distressed to coordinate with the tags background panel.  To the textured felt and corrugated cardboard scallops I added some chunky jumbo coordinated buttons topped with some twine.  I must use my chunky jumbo buttons more.  Love this look!   The pennant trim was die cut with polka dotted gold glitter card stock that I inked with marmalade and dusty concord to die to match.  This trim is actually pretty sparkly in real life.  I finished the card with a big loopy twine bow attached to the layered Tagged Rectangle die.  I am using Deconstructed Sketch No. 67.

Check out what the rest of the team did with this week's challenge!

As always thanks so much for stopping by!
