Birthday Blog HOP!

Let’s light the candles and strike up the music!! The owner of Flourishes – Jan Marie Caruso – is celebrating a birthday and we’re helping her by getting the party started with just about the entire Flourishes Crew!  Why not leave some love on her blog HERE and while you are hopping around, pay a visit to the Flourishes team members who are honoring her special day!

For my card I am using one of my all time favorite Flourishes sets.  I am using Birds and Vines stamp set.  I chose to use the smaller image in the set.  I inked with Tuxedo black Memento ink  and stamped on Flourishes Classic Ivory card stock.   I sponged the edges.  I highlighted the flower images with some glitter using a Quickie glue pen For the sentiment I am using the Hollyhocks set.  I chose the sentiment It's Your Day!  I used the next to smallest die in the Spellbinder's Doily Heart Circles for my sentiment tag.  I finished with some black lace and cream seam binding bow topped with a flower and natural colored memory thread curly que.

In honor of Jan’s special day, the worker bees behind the scenes decided to have a COLORFUL sale to help celebrate! TODAY and TOMORROW only – all Copic Markers will be on sale 15% off. Just use the code COPIC15 in the coupon code box at the time of check out to get this fun discount! So, join us in singing her a special little birthday song! Be sure to check out all the fun and festive wishes and grab some great ideas for birthday cards along the way!

Happy Birthday Jan!
We hope your day is the absolute BEST
and cheers to an even better year ahead!

The Mighty Ocean Shining the Light and MORE!

Happy Tuesday!  I have a CAS card to share with you today. At least it is CAS for me.  I am using ODBD newly released  The Mighty Sea set along with Eternity stamp set.  I am playing along with ODBD Shining the Light Challenge to create a scene!  I love this new ocean image.  While this image looks fabulous colored, it still looks just as good just inked to me.  I did rock and roll it a bit to give it some hues of blues and tans to mimi a more ocean, sand, sky look.  Love the results.

I then stamped the quote directly to the image to finish the focal point.  I layered with Simple Stories Generations dp.  I  finished with some brown seam binding, button, and a few brown gems and metal photo corner.

I did give a subtle stamping using some vintage cream ink with a french script background to the petite gingham background.  It is subtle, but offers a little extra detail.

As always thanks so much for stopping by!

Sunny Days VLV Sketch!

Happy Friday!  I had time this evening to play in my craft room.   I have a card to share  using this week's Viva La Verve Sketch!  Laurie is the host this week!  Awesome sketch, Laurie!  I am using Verve's Great Friend and Sunny Days stamp set along with Verve's Cut Above Leafy Sprigs and embossed oval die.

I stamped my flowers with vintage cream ink onto my new pack of Teresa Collins Fabrications Canvas designer paper.  Love these colors, the look of textures, and awesome patterns.  I then white embossed and cut out.  I layered each layer with some foam tape and scrunch the flower a bit for added dimension.    I added some stamped sprigs that I also die cut and tucked in under the flowers.  I finished with a seam binding bow.

As always thanks so much for stopping by!

Where Hope Grows....Viva La Verve Sketch and More!

I am popping in to day with a quick card.  My hubby celebrated his Birthday over the weekend and I cooked and hosted a dinner party for 16 people.  While that may not seem like a lot, I felt like I cooked all day.  Plus, I had very little leftovers.  Which is a good thing as my family does not do leftovers.   Needless to say, I was exhausted.

I am using Viva La Verve Week 1 sketch.  Amber is the host.  Great sketch, Amber!  I tried to stay true to the sketch and keep it clean and simple; however, I did flip it to make a vertical card.  I am using Verve's Abundant Blessings, Miracle Blossom, All Aflutter Plain Jane and Verve's Cut Above All Aflutter die set.   I finished with some touches of glitter and some faux glittered circle accents in the top right corner.

As always thanks so much for stopping by!

Flourishes Bring Back Beautiful (BBB19)!

Happy Monday, everyone!  We are here to  Bring Back Beautiful (BBB19)  for February!  With Valentine's Day   quickly approaching I am sure there is one last card that needs to be made. Create a project based on Love.  It does not have to be Valentine related. It can be just because you love someone.   This month's challenge is all about the beauty of love!

For my card I am using Flourishes Hearts & Flowers stamp set.  I  stamped the floral heart with Flourishes Classic Ivory card stock.  I colored with Flourishes Copic Color Collection.  I cut out and added some touches of clear gems.  I attached to the seam binding bow like a hanging floral heart tag.   I topped the seam binding bow with a matching button and rose colored memory thread curly ques.  I used MME Vanity Fair designer paper for the card background.  The layered with some tonal textures with a folder and die cut.    Finished with a corner sentiment in keeping with the sketch from Card Patterns151.

Check out what the rest of the team created with the
Beauty of LOVE theme!
