ODBD and FTTC!!!!

This card is for today's SCS Color Challenge(CC212)!!!! Thanks so much Emily for a fabulous color combo. We are to use chocolate chip, pink pirouette, and riding hood red.

I am using one of the Anniversary Design team scripture sets released this month at ODBD. I love the size and mixed fonts of these scripture stamps. I am using some of my SU Bella Rose dp with some variety of punches and nestablities for my card. I finished it with some sizzix corner details and a ribbon slide. I am also using an Ornare Paper Piercing template. These templates are amazing. I would say it is truly necessary to get the piercing tool...learned this lesson the hard way...lol. The piercing tool has a really fine long tip and glides through the pierced holes like butter.

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC9)!!!!

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC9)!!!! This week Dee Jackson is hosting the challenge. She is challenging us to Go Green!!!! What does that mean? Well, it means that you have to find something to redo, to reuse, so you can say you recycled!!! I know you have many items that were created that did not quite make it on a card and you stashed it away for another time. Also, there are all kinds of non-craft items in the home waiting to be reused for something crafty. So, the time is now!!!! Let us go green and recycle those items!!!! We can hardly wait to see what you do!!!!!.

I am using two stamp sets. One of the new releases this month Timeless Quotes and I Love Roses. I am using just the rosebud image and I have paired it with the friendship quote. I have used some of the Basic Gray Porcelain dp in the background. For the go green challenge, I am using a jeweled hairpin that used to belong to my daughter. I tucked it in behind the ribbon knot. I did add little pearls in the center of the jeweled flowers to coordinate with the accent pearls I used.

For my card I have chosen some ripe avocado and berry sorbet cardstocks with some basic gray porcelain and ripe avocado bitty dot dp. I am using the curved rectangles and petite oval spellbinders and lots of foam dots for dimension. This card is stacked and piled high. I colored my rosebud with copics and sponged inside the oval nesties with some cameo coral. I used the cuttlebug swiss dots on the two-toned curved rectangle piece. I finished off my card with the scallop border punch detailing and some halfback pearl detailing in the corners. I wanted to include a picture of the card from the side so you can see just how thick this card is with all the layers and foam dots. WOW!!!!

see what they did with the Go Green Challenge!!!

From ATC to CARD!!!!

A few weeks ago, I did an ATC for a SCS challenge. I am having some computer issues the past few days so I cannot add the link at the moment. Below is the ATC I did and you can find it in my SCS gallery. Well, actually, I did the oversized ATC using the top note die for the size. My excuse for enlarging the ATC was that most of my cards are 5.5" or 6" squared. So, the regular sized ATC gets lost. This top note ATC is the perfect size for my size cards.

I wanted to used my oversized ATC for a card. For this ATC to card, I used some Kiwi Kiss, PTI dark chocolate and PTI dp for the base. I just added the top note ATC to finish the card. Now, a part of me wants to add something above and below the ATC to create some balance, but for the sake of ATC to CARD....I am leaving it alone. I would like to thank Lesley(marleygo) for sending me some stamped images for me to color.

Hopefully, I can get my computer issues straightened out soon. As always, thanks so much for stopping by!!!!

Timeless Tuesday!

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC8)!!!! Thanks so much for all who played with us last week!!!! This week I am hosting the challenge. I am challenging us to Emboss It!!! There are a lot of different types of embossing options to choose from. In addition, there are many different techniques to combined with embossing. We would love to see what you all create.

I am using two stamp sets Timeless Quotes and Spring Ephemerals. The quote set is a new release this month. My sentiment is stamped directly to the new vintage Jenni Bowlin mini papers. I am LOVING these mini papers!!! The images are scaled to the paper's size so they are so easy to work with. I am using 5 patterns from two packs Black Line and Red/Black Line. I love the vintage look to these papers!!! Each piece has distressed sponged already around the edges. How cool is that!?!? For each pattern I chose, I embossed each panel with a similar patterned cuttlebug embossing folder. I am using a typed page from a book(script folder), a mini vintage damask look(textile folder), a mini black polka dot(swiss dot folder), and a mini houndstooth print(houndstooth folder). The main piece in the center has the bird on a branch with little outlined flowers. I stamped the leaf image from the Spring Ephemerals set around the edges in Antique Linen. I then sponged more antique linen to the edges of the main panel only. I stamped my quote in riding hood red. I tried to make the image not look too perfect as well. I sort of smeared the edges of the letters to create an old worn effect. I added my frayed gingham ribbon with flower and vintage button detail as well as some assorted vintage buttons to opposite corners. I added two ribbon tabs to create some balance. I love the patterns, textures, and shabby chic vintage feel to this card. I also think I have a NEW favorite paper!!!! I want them all!!!

see what they did with the Emboss It Challenge!!!

Wishing You a Wonderful Day!

This card is for SCS Feature Stamper Challenge FS111!!! Congratulations, Beate!!! Enjoy your day!!!! You must know your gallery just ROCKS OUT LOUD!!! Here is the card I chose to case. I love to recreate looks whenever I can. I chose this card because I wanted to use Flourishes Home Tweet Home and Mixed Greetings sets.

I decided to stay as close to the layout and design as well as the colors a possible. I did add a few more layers. I used a different stamp image, different flowers, and punch border. I used three flowers, but instead of felt and spreading them out, I used paper and I layered them. I added a button instead of a brad.

I have a small damask stamp image that I purchased at Targer dollar spot a few weeks ago. I also have SU sanded bg for the added distressed texture effect. However, Beate's soft "corrugated look" made me think a bit. I stamped all my background images, then I corrugated the piece. To soften the corrugated look, I ran it through my Bigkick with embossing matts to smush it so to speak. I love this softer look. I will have to do this effect more.

STAMPS

Dirty Girls "Then and Now" Case Yourself!!!

This month all of the Dirty Girls were issued a challenge to case one of our first uploads!!!! The purpose is to see a "then and now" growth to our stamping style. We all have to start somewhere, right? I absolutely love the idea of this challenge, however, once I visited my 2005 album, I became alittle nervous....lol!!! I decided to choose this card because I just used so much green galore?? Thanks a Bunch

As part of the challenge requirements, we could change three things???? ONLY THREE? LOL!!!
I changed colors for sure!!!! I changed stamp image, and I change embellishments/accessories!!!!

For this card I am using chocolate chip, aqua mist, vanilla cream cardstocks. I am also using Basic Gray Marrakech and MB Poppyfinch dps.
I am using the newly release ODBD Scripture Collection I set.

I distressed all of the edges of the aqua mist and vanilla cream cardstock and dp with Tim Holtz distress inks in antique linen and tea dyed.

I added more layers to this card.

I used nestabilities and cuttlebug embossing folders.

I added larger eyelets this time to the belt. Instead of cutting into the cardstock to make the belt loop(s), I used some dark chocolate twill. I did use some brown permanent marker to make this twill dark enough for this card.

I added few embellishements. The layered stamped flower with button, and the jumbo brad with cross charm. I have been doing a lot of flower stamping of late. I love the look and the effect. Here, I stamped the same scripture that I used in palette dark chocolate ink. I sponged all of the flowers with antique linen.

I used an accent stamp from Laundry Line called Bloom with some aqua mist around the scripture. It is a tiny solid flowers design.

ODBD Anniversary Blog Hop and FTTC!!!!

It’s a Celebration!! Yes, you may be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day, but I am also celebrating the One-year Anniversary at Our Daily Bread Designs! It was one year ago today that owner Kelley Holland began her adventure. What a fun adventure it has been and look where we are a year later! Great products and inspirational stamps!

Thanks for stopping in on your way through our first
ODBD Blog Hop. If you didn’t know about the ODBD Blog Hop and landed here by chance, there are goodies for you along the way and it’s important to hit the blogs in the order of the Hop. You’ll want to start out with Dina at Mama Dina’s Stamperia. If you followed me here from Lorelie's My Paper Adventure, then you are in the right place! There is blog candy along the way and even I don’t know where it is, so be sure to start at the beginning of the Hop so you don’t miss it!

For a special grand prize, we are playing “Scripture Scramble!” Each blog has one or two words that you can collect at each stop and put together to make a scripture verse (NIV edition). Once you have collected all the words, send the completed verse, along with the scripture reference by EMAIL to our
DT Coordinator, Judy Rozema, at lidaroseroz@gmail.com.

Correct entries will be put into a hat and the Grand Prize winner will receive a set of their choosing from
Our Daily Bread Designs AND a selection of cards made especially for this celebration by some of the Design Team members. How cool is that?! Entries must be received by MIDNIGHT CST on March 19th.

Here is my Scripture Scramble word: neither

Speaking of scriptures, today is the release of two new scripture sets: Scripture Collection I and Scripture Collection II. Each of the Design Team members chose a verse that is special to them and Kelley made it into special anniversary sets that are available for purchase today!

For my card I am using the CPS107
sketch hosted by Our Daily Bread Designs
. I decided to use some of the new MB Brandywine dp. I love this color. It is so rich and I thought it would look great showcasing my favorite scripture. I chose the verse II Timothy 1:7 because it tells me that God did NOT give me a spirit of FEAR. He gave me a Spirit of Power, of LOVE, and of a Sound Mind. So, if I ever feel fearful, I repeat this scripture because that feeling is NOT from God.

Now, to continue on, next you’ll be visiting Judy at
Joy in a Jar . You will not want to miss what she has to show you!

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday

Challenge(FTTC7)!!!!

This week Cindy Haffner is hosting. She is challenging us to use ribbon. You may think…ribbon? I use ribbon all the time. Of course, you do!!! We all do!!! I mean there are just so many ribbons out there to choose from. There are lace, organdies, ric rac, satin, twill, and grosgrain just to name a few. Then, there are polka dotted, printed, and stitched patterns to be had. And, if that is not enough, many of these come in different widths.

Like I said, there are just so many to choose from. However, you may only use a certain type of ribbon all the time…yet you hoard a boat load of others. It is time to cut those ribbons that bind you….lol!!! Try to venture from your normal comfort zone or try to use ribbon in a different way. Do not fret, though. If you are not feeling awfully adventurous, any card with some ribbon will do!!!! We would love to see what you create either way!!!!

I chose Summer on the Patio set for my card today. When I chose this set at the Flourishes store, I chose it for the assortment of summer beverages, the patio table and chair, and the chandelier. However, once I got the set in my hand, I was amazed at the number of pieces in the set and designs. There are 35 images and sentiments in this set!!!! WOW!!!

I chose this pot of flowers to color for my card today. I added a layer of MB Fernbrae dp. I used a border cuttlebug for the top and adorned it with some halfback pearls. I colored my flowers with some copics and a couple of permanent markers. I added the So Very Thoughtful sentiment from the Many Sentiments set. I venture out and use some pink ribbon. I rarely use pink ribbon.

Do not forget to check out the Flourishes Blog Team's blogs to see what they did with the ribbon challenge!!!

I Thank God!

The ODBD Anniversary Week blog hop and blog candy continues!!! ODBD started last year on March 17th!!! We are celebrating a wonderful year with fabulous daily prizes, tutorials, and card samples of sets released during the year. I am showcasing ODBD Flourished Christian Symbols. I love this set because it offers some wonderful sentiments and scriptures as well as three flourished silhouette images.

I wanted to keep the card clean and simple(CAS) and not add any additional layers, so I stamped the flourished dove that comes in the set directly to the dp. I love how it sort of is there, but blends in, too. Between this dp and the dove image it almost looks like there is movement. Like the dove is really flying. I wanted the scripture to stand out alittle more so I stamped it in Palette Vanilla Cream. It is not embossed. I just gave it time to dry. Next, I stamped several of the sentiments and the same scripture in Palette Noir onto the flower. I love this look. I added one cream button with some closely matching hemp cording. Adds a bit of rustic flair. I added a pierced scalloped border for some detailing as well as pierced corder in the bottom right of the card.

Be sure to check out Dina Kowal's blog!!!! She has blog candy from ODBD!!!!

For ME!!!!

Last week was a busy mail delivery week at my house. Love it!! I wanted to take a few moments to thanks several people who sent me stuff in the mail!!!! Woo Hoo!!!
First up is Stacy(twinshappy). She knows I have a little obsession with Twilight. LOL!!! I may not be as obvious as some (you all know who I am talking about...lol), but I do have my moments. She sent me some Twilight conversational hearts. These are so cute with comments like Bite Me, I (heart) EC, Lamb, etc. The flavors are fabulous, too. I know I was supposed to wait to eat some with the dvd release on March 21...which is what Stacy was reminding me about, too. But who can resist with expressions like "Bite Me." I just thought the gift was so thoughtful and absolutely sweet of Stacy!!!! Thanks so much Stacy!!!! I love it!!! I love the card she sent me, too!!!! The spotlight technique is wonderful!!!! Beautiful, Stacy!!!!

Next up is Angie(duckwaddlequack). She and I are own the ODBD Design Team. On the ODBD message board, I mentioned that I did not own a paper distressing tool. I wanted one, but everytime I tried to buy one anywhere, they are always sold out. I must be the last person not to own one....lol. Anyway, Angie mentioned that she had a few and would send me one. WHAT?!!??! I am always just blown away by so much giving and sharing among crafters. I love my paper distressing tool, Angie!!!! You are so kind!!!! Thank you so much!!!! Yes, I need to leave my house and meet you for lunch and trip to Archivers...among a few other Raleigh, NC craft stores!!!! LOL!!! Thanks so much for the card, too. I love the colors and design. This card swings open. It is really cool!!!!

L
oretta(lorettal) sent me this beautiful card in the mail. We started chatting a few weeks ago. I did not make the connection that Loretta is from Canada. I am always amazed how one site like SCS and our blogs can bring people all over the world together. It is so nice to have someone to converse with about spiritual growth. As women in Christ, I think many of us feel we beat ourselves up all the time by not being "perfect" or feeling like we are not as good as we should be. I love this quote in the ODBD The Cross of Christ set. It really does put our spiritual growing into perspective. I thank you so much, Loretta!!! Blessings to you and yours!!! Your card is beautiful!!!!

I did want to add that the little acrylic charm Loretta added to this card I thought was store bought. When I emailed her about it, she mentioned she made it. HUH?!?!!? I really need to get out more!!! Here is the link she sent me showing how she did this charm.

http://timholtz.typepad.com/my_weblo...s-of-c-10.html

Wouldn't you know it!!!! It is something Tim Holtz!!!! I am all about some Tim Holtz products lately!!!! I need to get some of these and give it a try!!!! Fabulously done, Loretta!!!!

Last up is Kimberly Crawford!!! I won a craft magazine from her blog!!! Woo Hoo!!! I rarely win anything...lol!!!! So, when Kimberly notified me that I won I was thrilled!!! I am thrilled because I do not own any card craft magazines. What? I am not sure why, though. I have looked through the magazine several times and love it!!! It is so cool to see names of people in the crafting world showcased...including, Kimberly's work!!! She sent me my magazine with a lovely card!!!! Beautiful, Kimberly!!! Thanks so much!!!

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge!!!!!

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC6)!

This week Kimberly Crawford is hosting the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge. Kimberly has provided us with a sketch to test our card making skills. As far as sketches go, there is not much explanation necessary. You can turn it and enlarge the sections to fit your card size. However, in the end, it should still look like the sketch. Good Luck!!!! Looking forward to seeing what you do with it!!!

For my card, I am using the Signs of Spring set. I added layers of the Basic Gray Porcelain dp. I love these colors and patterns. I am combining this challenge with the Flourishes Getting Sentimental Challenge which part of Flourishes release week. More info on that in a bit. I love this quote and the flower is the perfect size. I am using the small daffodil that comes in the set. I added some soft sponging around the edge of the oval to create a subtle framing effect for the sentiment. I finished my card with a die cut flower, a button, and some dew drops.

Do not forget to check out the Flourishes Blog Team's blogs
to see what they did with this sketch challenge!!!

The Potter!

This card is for today's Feature Stamper (FS109) Judy Rozema!!! Congratulations, Judy!!!! WOW!!!! What a fabulous gallery!!!! Here is the card I chose to case.

I changed colors and stamp set. I pretty much left the layout the same.
I am using ODBD new release You are the Potter.

I just love coloring these clay pots. I chose a very bold color combo. I am using some basic gray ambrosia dp. I think there are some great patterns in this paper pack, but some may be hard to match with cardstock. Never fear, because Prism by Prismatics cardstock has a shade that will work with any color out there!!!! Here I am using Classic Red, Intense Orange, and Mystic Medium Prism cardstock. I must admit these are NOT colors I normally use, but I love the Basic Gray Ambrosia. The bold bright look is growing on me!!!!

Our Eyes!

This card is for today's LSC210. We had to make a card in 30 minutes or less. I had to make sure the colors and layout were down before I started the timer. I am also combining this with Sharon's(notimetostamp) challenge ssnotime77. We are to heat emboss. I heat embossed the scripture and the cross. I am also using the OCCC sketch, too. Wow!!!! I combined a lot of challenges here.

This card is using Our Daily Bread Designs The Cross of Christ set. Love the fonts and the three different size cross that come in this set.

I stamped the scripture in versa mark, added black ep. I cut it out using nesties petite ovals. I kept the die cut on the image and sponged within the oval in aqua mist and spring moss. I layered ovals and a scalloped oval for the focal point. I used a new EK success border punch to add a little detail edge on the side and used a cb ef to add some subtle texture. I punche a dove and embossed the small cross in the bottom right corner and my card was complete. I love this color combo.

Timeless Tuesday Challenge!

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC5)!!!! Thanks so much for all who played along with us last week. This week Becca Feeken is hosting the Timeless Tuesday Challenge. She is challenging us to use our Spellbinders's!!!! If you have any of these products I am sure they need no dusting off. For many they have become as necessary as the trimmer and adhesive. If it is a cutting edge, petite, scalloped, long, short, framed, flowered, or all of these, you are to make a card using your Spellbinders's. No Spellbinders? Do not fret you can use your favorite punches.

For this challenge I had to borrow my SIL cuttlebug!!!!! Thanks so much, Nicole for letting me use your cuttlebug until I get mine back.

I am using the Flourishes Summer Blossoms set. I was in the mood for bold and dramatic. I have combined Memory Box Fernbrae and Basic Gray Marrakech paper packs. Both are available at Flourishes . The colors work so beautifully with riding hood red and pacific point. Love the print patterns, too. I think the colors work great with this dainty flower image as well. I stamped one of the stems that comes in the set. I then stamped several flowers and colored them using copics and permanent markers. I love this blue color. I use my ink essentials pen for the little dots in the centers. I cut each flower out and colored the edges with a blue marker. I added dimensionals and arranged my flowers. I am using layered oval nestabilities, layered ribbon labels, and one of the little pieces in the decorative frames as a butterfly look. I finished with some gold domes/pearls.
