Thinking of You!!! Sneak Peak!!!!

This card is for today's SCS Feature Stamper Challenge(FS134)! Congratulations, Darlene!!! Wonderful gallery!!! Here is the card I chose to case.

I changed the colors, the images, and some of the layout. I kept the stamped background panel, I did corner punch detailing like Darlene. Two of mine rounded with a punch and the other two with a corner punch added. I stamped my image and added some gold pearls. I combined the image and sentiment into one.

Today, I am showcasing a sneak peak of ODBD new September releases. I am using Thinking of You and Get Well. I used the Get Well image to stamp my background. I used the other image and sentiment from the Thinking of You set.

Thinking of You! VERVE VLVSEP01

This card is for today's SCS Inspiration Challenge(IC195)! Thanks, Anne for hosting!!! Our inspiration site is "Creative Wall Coverings. " As soon as I saw wallcoverings, I thought background stamping. I used two inspiration pics for the backgrounds and one for the focal image.

Here are the three links to my inspiration pictures.
ONE, TWO, THREE.

Also, want to give a shout out to Julie(juliemlacey)for the wonderful color combo she used on her card here.

This card is also for Verve (VLVSEP01) sketch challenge. I am using Verve Bountiful Backgrounds, Budding Blossoms, and Enjoy stamp sets.

For the background panel, I stamped the fleur de lis from the bountiful backgrounds set. using soft suede. I stamped off so the image was lighter. I sponged ranger antique linen over the whole piece and used soft suede on the edges.

For the MS border punch lower panel, I sponged scarlet jewel onto this after punching.

The soft suede section, I used an EK border punch and sponged the soft suede panel. In keeping with the round theme, I used my cuttlebug swiss dots folder on the reverse side.

The next panel is the vertical lines with dots image from the Bountiful backgrounds set. I stamped in scarlet jewel, sponged with ranger antique linen, and soft suede on the edges. I added the same EK Success border punch, but did not allow the dots to show this time just the tiny scallop.

I stamped my focal image stem using ripe avocado and rocked and rolled a touch of soft suede. I stamped the flowers twice. I colored both with copics, but cut out and added one over the top of the others for some added dimension. I stenciled antique linen and some soft suede around border. I added a circle punch sentiment which I sponged with some ranger antique linen.

I finished my card with scarlet jewel satin ribbon and gold pearls.

Christmas Blessings!

This card is for this week's SCS Sketch Challenge(SC243)! I am using ODBD Joy to the World stamp set. I colored the image with copic markers.

I am trying to make a few Christmas cards a week now. It was so nice last Christmas to break of my already made stash and sit and decide which one went where. I love doing a mixture of different ones.

I used so saffron and elegant eggplant cardstock. I used a SU texturz plate and a cuttlebug ef to create some visual interest. I sponged all of the so saffron pieces with so saffron ink. I added a MS border punch and an EK Success border punch.

I finished my card with a little ribbon bow and layered 1/4" circle punches with gold pearls.

Here is the picture of the inside of the card.

A Parade of VLVAUG sketches with a Twist!

I added this card in with a post from the other day. However, since I was able to complete all of the VLV challenges for August, I decided to post all of the them in one post.

I made this card for the Viva la Verve challenges that I just found out about. Not sure I can do all four for August, but here is VLVAug01, at least. Thanks, Amber for a great challenge. We were to case a Verve Diva. The Twist...if the card uses dp, we could not and vice versa. Well, I chose Laurie's(lauraly) card here.

Laurie uses dp so I set out to stamp my OWN dp using the few Verve sets I own to mimic Laurie's look. I used
Kindred Spirits for the top background portion and I used Bountiful Backgrounds the vertical lines one double stamped for the vertical line look of paper that Laurie chose.

I used the newly released To Risk Plain Jane as well as the Enjoy sets as well. I used the image as a butterfly. I did add a paper flower because I do not own the Verve flower Laurie used which is why I topped it with a butterfly image. I did opt for gold pearls and no charm just because I did not want to case exactly. Laurie actually used a sewing maching for her card..wow, I faux stitched mine.

You're the Best!

After a busy day of clothes shopping with the kids, there is nothing like stamping to release the stress. LOL!! I decided to create a card for the Verve Sketch Challenges. This one is for VLVAUG02. The twist was to use border punches in addition to the sketch.I am using dark chocolate and sweet blush.
I am using Verve Kindred Spirits and Bountiful Backgrounds sets. I stamped the fleur de lis image using versamark for the background. I used a cuttlebug embossing folder for the other background panels. I added ribbon and few few gold pearls. For the twist, I added the border punch detailing at the top and bottom of the background panel.
Stamps
Verve Kindred Spirits and Bountiful Backgrounds
Paper
dark chocolate, sweet blush, vintage cream
Ink
dark chocolate, versamark, sweet blush
Accessories
foam squares, MS border punch, cb ef, glue dots, chocolate chip satin ribbon, sponges

Simply Amazing!

This card is for the Verve VLVAUG03 challenge! I cannot believe I have completed three. Woohoo!!!The twist to this sketch is to add a tag. I did not know if the smaller circle was part of the sketch or the tag. I added a small tag to be sure. LOL!!! I did not want to add anything really to the tag so I just added two tiny MS butterfly punches.
I think it is cute and alittle whimsical. For this card I am using Verve Bountiful Backgrounds. entire yellow background was stamped in versamark and white embossed with the dotted image from this set. I then sponge over the whole thing in some sunflower ink.
My simply amazing sentiment comes for this set as well. I am also using Budding Blossoms set. For this particular flower that comes in this set, I actually inked the base with the ripe avocado ink holding the ink pad so I just touched the part I wanted inked. I did the same for the flower using scarlet jewel.

You Brighten My Day!

This card is for today's color challenge(CC233). Thanks, Peggy for a fabulous color combo. I love everything kraft lately. This card is also for the Verve monthly sketch challenges with a twist. We are to use our favorite colors. Well, chocolate chip, kraft, red, and cream are in my tops(VLVAUG04).
I am using Verve Budding Blossoms stamp set and Thoughtful Florals for the sentiment. I did add a touch of some ripe avocado ink then I rocked and rolled some dark chocolate onto the edges to soften the look. I stamped the kraft background panel with vintage cream using the SU en francaise bg. I let it dry and sponged the edges with some dark chocolate. These colors are making me think of chocolate covered cherries. Oh, dear!!! I added a few gold pearls for accents and a sentiment.

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC30)!

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC30)! It is the last Tuesday of the month so we have a guest challenge host this week. Our challenge host is Liz Williams(lazylizard). Liz is challenging us to use pearls on our cards. Whether you want to use pearlized papers, pearlx, pearl paints, halfback pearls, or actual pearl beads, whatever you choose to use we would love to see what you create.

I am using Flourishes newly released Gerbera Daisies set. I am using Flourishes classic white cardstock. This cardstock is wonderful for coloring with copics. I am Flourishes Copic Color Collection in Dusty Rose, Daffodil, Tiger Lily, Fields, and Evergreen. This set is beautiful and fun to color. For the pearl challenge, I added a few pearls to the opposite corners. I also added three to the main panel to create some balance.

This card is for two other challenges as well. The sketch is part of the Mojo100 Anniversary Sketch Challenges. This one is for the MOJOJANETTE. I am also using only SU NEW in colors which is the challenge issued by Loretta at the OCC. I used melon mambo, crushed curry, and razzleberry dp. I did sponge some Ranger ink vintage photo onto the pattern papers to tone them down quite a bit so that my beautiful gerbera daisies would be the focal point. I left the focal panel crisp white for added contrast with these colors and the flowers.

Be sure to check out the otherFriends of Flourishes Blog Team Designers

to see what they created for you this week.

Rejoice!

This card is for today's FS133 Challenge!!! Congrats Joanne!!! Gorgeous gallery. I chose this card to case of Joanne's here.

I pretty much kept the same look, but changed the exactness when I did not have the same item. I did change the colors.

I am using an ODBD set called Worship the Lord. I embossed the image in white detailed embossing powder on to smokey shadow cardstock. Instead of using the cuttlebug folder, I used some of last year's stash of MME Festive and Frost collection. I love the shimmery look of the snowflakes.

When it came to the embellishments, I did not have snowflakes as big as Joanne's so I created a bigger look. I punched out and stamped the snowflakes with my versamark pad, then added the kaleidescope embossing powder. I tried to photograph my card so you could see the sparkle of this KEP.

For the sentiment, I stamped the sentiment in adirondack pool, used the spellbinder's die cut and while it was still in the die cut, I stamped with versamark, added the KEP and removed. I then heated it. I love this shimmery look. I finished both embellishments with dew drops. I also used a different corner punch for the edges.

Two more MOJOs plus a VLV!!!

Okay, I have finished Thursday's Mojo100 Anniversary Sketch Challenge!! This sketch I had to alter a tad to get all the elements in plus to adapt to my normal 5.5 squared card.
This card is also for Sharon's ssnotime101 polka challenge.

First, I want to say that no designer papers were used in the making of this card. Everything you see is either stamped or dry embossed. I won a Verve stamp set from playing in all of their Anniversary sketch challenges last week for release week.

I am using all Verve stamps for my cards. I chose as my FREE set the Bountiful Backgrounds. I stamped the square base background using one of the images in this set. I stamped in onto 5 inch square cream cardstock at an angle. I used ranger inks to soften the look.

I am also using a set called Thoughtful Florals. I used one of the flower images to stamp the horizontal background panel. I chose not to color this particular image. I opted to add just some tiny gold pearls, instead. Also, I did opt for an oval instead of the circle to give my square card some balance. I added gold beading instead of horizontal strips across the horizontal background panel to give the illusion of gold beads going all the way across. Plus, after stamping the background, I did not want to cover it up.

I used ranger antique linen, old paper, and walnut stain to give my cream and avocado cardstocks some depth.

Stamps
Verve Budding Blossoms, Bountiful Backgrounds, Thoughtful Florals, Thanks so much

Friends Forever

This is card is for today's Mojo100 Anniversary Sketch Challenge! In addition to this being a sketch challenge, I also challenged myself to pastels and a standard A2 card. I have been making larger cards for so long, this size is really hard for me. Also, generally, when I do pastels, I think I always add a dark color with it. I did not here. This card is also for Sharon's ssnotime101 polka challenge.

I used the Verve newly released set Bountiful Backgrounds to make the soft pink dotted background panel as well as the focal image panel. I used hibiscus burst ink. I stamped off to give me a very light shade. For the focal image, I also stamped off some spring moss ink to add a section varied colors.

I also stamped the lemon tart half circles with the tonal fleur de lis image that is in this background set. I do not know if I have mentioned that I love this background set. In case I have not....I love this background set!!!

In addition to the background stamps, I am also using a set called Kindred Spirits. I finished my card with some ribbon, button and white twine detailing, and two dew drops.

Three MOJOs with Verve completed!!! WooHoo!!!

My first Verve order ever arrived in the mail yesterday. It came fast!!! I am blogging the first three of the Mojo100 sketches together!!! So, this post is quite long.

This card is for yesterday's WT232 and Mojo100 sketch challenge. Okay, I just have to say that I searched for what seemed like forever for something fuzzy. All I could find were dust bunnies and some lint. LOL!!! No, I did find some silk vellour flowers from a flower arrangement I put out at Christmas. I layered two of the flowers. I am not sure I am going to keep the fuzzies on the card, though.

I won a Verve stamp set from playing in all of their Anniversary sketch challenges last week. I chose as my FREE set the Bountiful Backgrounds. If you know me, you know I have a thing for background stamps. I did NOT use any designer paper in the making of this card. The top and bottom panels were stamped and sponged. The bordeaux ink blended with the ranger antique linen. It was not expected, but I loved the results.

One of the sets I purchased from Verve is called Enjoy. This is the coolest set!!! This flower which looks like an Iris can also be a butterfly!!! Love that!!! I stamped the solid image, stamped off, then rocked and roll to make the edges darker, I then stamped the outline stamp in same hue. Cut out and added to my card. I finished with some bling!!!

Stamps

Blossom!

This card is for MojoMonday's Anniversary Sketch Challenges. This is for Tuesday's Sketch Mojomaria. This card is also for Sharon's ssnotime101 polka challenge.

I am using Verve sets Kindred Spirits for my background panel and Budding Blossoms for the flower. The sentiment is called To Risk Plain Jane.

For this card, I stamped the fleur de lis background stamp using versamark onto the dark chocolate cardstock. I used the single stem from the Budding Blossoms and only inked up one side of one of the duo flowers. I stamped it directly above the stem. I also stamped another one, colored it with copics, cut it out, edges with permanent black marker and attached to card for a little touch of dimension. I used a cb ef for some texture and added my ribbon to complete. I will say I took alittle bit of liberties with this sketch.

Sending Smiles!

This card is for today's LSC234!!! Thanks, Judy for a great challenge. My dd needed a Birthday card for a male friend of hers at school. Today for the LSC we could not use flowers, ribbons, or bling!!! In other words....nothing girly because we have to make a masculine card. This card is for MojoMonday's Anniversary Sketch Challenges.

This is for Wednesday's Sketch Mojoteresa. I won a Verve stamp set from playing in all of their Anniversary sketch challenges last week. This card is also for Sharon's ssnotime101 polka challenge.

For this card, I chose a masculine color scheme and went from there. I stamped the right side dotted pattern from the Bountiful Backgrounds using spring moss ink onto spring moss cardstock. I stamped the smallest damask image from Kindred Spirits into the corners of the white layer to work with the peaks of the inverted circle spellbinders. I thought this particular Fiskars border punched mimic the peaks and valleys of the diecut and corner stamped image.

For the botanical image, I inked up the whole stamp with ripe avocado and used my enchanted evening cube to ink the little wheat stalks? Not sure what those are. Love the image, though. I stamped it. I colored in the image with copics. I sponged stenciled alittle inside the circle of the focal image to soften it a bit.

I finished with some silver pearls...which are more like silver brads and not girly girly at all eventhough they have pearls in the name...lol!!!

The Dog Days of Summer!

It's time again for another DD/DDA Challenge for the Splitcoaststampers Dirty Dozen team (alum and current). Valerie(11Valerie11) hosted the challenge this month.

Required Element:
Dog images or sentiments and heat of summer color scheme (so think orange, red, mustard, etc.)

Restricted Element:
Flock, or any fuzzy type embellishment

Gallery Link:

Okay, the whole dog part through me a bit. At first I did not think I had a dog image. I realized that I do have one. It is in the Flourishes set called Chairs. Isn't this the cutest little doggie ever? LOL!!!
I am also using Flourishes Gerbera Daisies set for the sentiment. I thought the elegantly written Friend says it all.

As for the color requirement, I am using all basicgray ambrosia cardstock. I did try to tone the hues down a little with some ranger antique linen and tea dyed inks. I think it worked. I was concern it was so bright that if anyone viewed my card they would get retina burns....lol!!! I colored my little doggie image with Flourishes Copic Color Collection using Warm Neutrals, Daffodil, and Tiger Lily. I used Flourishes Classic White cardstock which is wonderful for coloring with copics.

So here is my Dog Days of Summer card!!! As always, thanks so much for stopping by!!!

Let's Rejoice!

This card is for today's sketch challenge(SC242)! I turned the layout so my focal image could be horizontal. Plus, I altered the sizes to adapt to my 5.5 squared card.

I am using some more of the My Mind's Eye Complete Boy paper pad. Like I said before, I almost did not look at it since it was gender specific. I am glad I did because there are a lot of great patterns in there. I am using ODBD newly release Happy Birthday sets.

Instead of stamping the whole watering can with the flowers, I just used a portion of the image in the top opposite corners. I also stamped the butterfly image that comes in the set. I colored my image with copic markers. I added a few tiny pearls to the center of some of the flowers. I added a Martha Stewart border punch. I finished my card with a black gingham bow.

The soft yellow vertical panel is a tonal flower dp of unknown origins. I cuttlebugged it and sponged on some river rock ink to make it not so yellow. I also sponged some river rock ink onto the gingham bow to soften the stark white look in that ribbon. I used the corner rounder on just one corner on the focal panel for visual effect.

As always thanks so much for stopping by!

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC29)!

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC29)! This week Dee Jackson is our challenge host. Dee is challenging us to a color challenge. We are to use red, olive, and black with one other neutral color. So, the skies the limit as long as you use these hues. We look forward to seeing what you create!!!

For my card I am using Flourishes All that Glitters and Sleigh Ride stamp sets. I am using Flourishes classic white cardstock which is wonderful for coloring with copics. I am also using Flourishes Copic Color Collectionsin Poppy, Dusty Rose, Spring Greens, and Fields. I am using spellbinders diecuts. I finished my card with some warm sponging, gold pearls, and gold cording detailing.

I love coloring these ornaments in this set. For this particular card, I colored each ornament with copics, cut out, lined the edges with permanent black marker, and added crystal effects for added dimension. This card is also for the OCC Challenge this week. Loretta challenged the OCC to Christmas in August. I love how my Christmas card turned out!!!

Verve Anniversary Sketch Challenges!!! I did all 5!!!

1. NOUVEAU CHIC!

This is a long blog post because I am showcasing ALL five sketch cards I did for the Verve Anniversary Challenge!!!

Okay, it is rainy here today and aside from cleaning the house, there is only stamping...woohoo!!! I decided to try one of the Verve sketches for their Anniversary celebration. Honestly, I do no own any Verve stamps, but I really did want to play. Of course, if I want to try and win some stamps, I must hurry because there are 5 sketches!!! LOL!!!I have had this SU Nouveau Chic dp for a few weeks. Everytime I thought to use it I changed my mind. I decided today was the day to use this wonderful pattern paper. I actually show 4 of the different patterns. The funny thing is the SU catty says that apricot appeal is the coordinating color, but I used so saffron. It looked more a closer match to me. Poor lighting, maybe. I did sponge the flowers and the so saffron panel with so saffron to warm the cardstock up a bit. I embossed the so saffron panel with SU elegant bouquet folder. I am using Baroque Motifs stamp set to act as my punched flower whimsical stems. I used MS mini flower punches to create a flower that would work with this dp and stamp. I topped those with some tiny and medium silver pearls. There is no sentiment which is freaking me out a bit....lol!!! Was not sure where to put one on the outside of the card. Oh well, it is what it is.

2. Thank You!

For this card I am using some of MME Complete Boy dp. I am also using retired SU stamps called Best Blossom and Note Worthy. I used SU finial press embossing folder and CB swiss dot ef. I stamped my leaf image in riding hood red because fall is coming and some of the leaves will definitely be this color. I added dew drops to 1/4" circle punches, but from the picture the glue does not look dried. I will try to get a better picture later when it dries.

3. Enjoy!

I know these colors are a bit LOUD!!!! I mixed some basicgray Lemonade with SU Razzleberry Lemonade. I am using SU Peaceful Wishes and Wishing You the Best sets. Both are retired. I know that Peaceful Wishes is technically a Christmas set, but I definitely did not use it that way. I stamped one of the images from the Peaceful Wishes set directly to the RL dp. I used bordeaux ink. I finished with two gold pearls. I really thought these patterns were fussy enough with out much else..kwim?

4. Sassy Friends!

Stamping can be dangerous...lol!!! I have many of my SU sets stacked on top of each other so pulling one from the bottom of a vary high stack causes some to fall. I had to move out of the way fast or get hit in the head with chunks of wood. Not good.Do you remember this Stampin Up set? It is called Sassy Stems and this particular flower was NEVER inked in the set. I KNOW!!!! I thought I would use it today to go with some of these wonderful basicgray lemonade patterns. I decided to call this Sassy Friends because of this set name. The rectangle shape piece with the sentiment on it is a small file folder punch not folded. I have not used that thing in forever. I created the mat for it by punching another in black and cutting a part. With a strategically placed sentiment you do not see the gap in the cutting. Love that. I also used the flat embossing with the swirl cuttlebug embossing folder. My flat embossing idea can be seen here.
