For my card I am using Verve's Borderline and newly released Birthday Bots stamp sets along with Verve's Cut Above Mini Bookplate die.  Who said robots are for boys?  For a more girly robot I opted for some sparkle and bling.  I added some silver glitter with a quickie glue pen.   I combined some patterned papers, added some stitching, and finished it all off with a pink seam binding bow topped with a button.   I am using this week's Mojo Monday Sketch (Mojo314).

Happy Saturday!   It is time for another Crazy 4 Challenge with the Crazies!   Check out the C4C blog for more challenge details at Crazy 4 Challenges(C4C201).

This week's challenge is all about buttons and bows!

For my card I created a masculine birthday card using a button and a bow.  I am using Verve's Sunny Days, Take Note, Scroll Plain Jane, and Graph Paper Plain Jane.   I combined the stamps with Verve's Cut Above Rounded Scallop Frame, Scroll, and Flag It dies.   I am using some Simple Stories dp.  I added some stitching, gold toned dots, and added a bow using Verve's  Stormy Skies Ribbon Collection in Blustery Day.  I top the bow with a wood accent button with red/white twine.

Crazy 4 Challenges: It's School Time!

Happy Saturday!   It is time for another Crazy 4 Challenge with the Crazies!   Check out the C4C blog for more challenge details at Crazy 4 Challenges(C4C198).

This week's challenge is all about
Back to School!

For my card I am using Verve's Teachers Count, Calendar Countdown, Happy Days, and Time to Blossom Plain Jane  stamp sets.  I combined these sets with some Verve's Cut Above Apples die set.

I combined the Teachers Count set with the Apples die and Calendar Countdown set and created an Apple Clock!  For my sentiment, I used Happy Days and Time to Blossom PJ to create some ransom-like letters to create the title for a Back to School card.

Crazy 4 Challenges! Beautiful Just the Way You Are

Happy Saturday!   It is time for another Crazy 4 Challenge with the Crazies!   Check out the C4C blog for more challenge details at Crazy 4 Challenges(C4C197).

This week's challenge is all about
paper piecing!

For my card I am using Verve's Beautiful Plain Jane, Bountiful Backgrounds, Blue Skies, and Love Notes stamp sets.  I combined these sets with some Verve's Cut Above Occasion Frame, Classy Label, and All Aflutter die sets.  I am playing along with this

For the paper piecing challenge,  I decided to take a different paper piecing approach.  I just love all the quatrefoil dies that are popping up all over.  If you have had a chance to play with one of these dies, you know that it is fun fun to paper piece all those little sections back into the frame in various patterns.  That is exactly what I did here.  I combined various patterns from Simple Stories Vintage Bliss dp.   I die cut a frame using my Lifestyles Trelis border die.  I then added all the little die cut paper pieces from the various pattern papers.  I stamped and layered my Verve frames.   I added a copic colored Verve All Aflutter butterfly topped with some sparkle.  I finished with a seam binding bow topped with button using Verve's Cut Above Spring Fling Ribbon Collection in Aqua.

I am playing along with a few other blog challenges this week.  I am playing with the Curtain Calls Color Inspiration Challenge.   Thought these colors worked perfectly with the inspiration picture.   I am playing along with Moxie Fab Worlds Tuesday Trigger:  It's Collagical!  I think this trelis background with the patterns I chose work perfectly for a modern take on a colligical feel!  I am also playing along with the Friday MashUp!  It is all about polka dots!

July 2013 Papertrey Ink Blog Hop!

 Blog-hop-logo

Happy Thursday!  I am playing along with Papertrey Ink's monthly blog hop today!  This month's challenge is all about Color Inspiration!

Fruits-of-Summer-2

Pencil Pouch!  I chose the inspiration colors to the right for my card.  I tried to venture outside of my normal flowery cards to do something a little different.  In about  a month it will be time for school again.  After seeing that new jumbo Mat Stack 7 die, I just knew it would make the cutest chubby pencils.  Then, after I assembled the card, I realized this chubby pencil was big enough to make a pencil pouch.  I chose to add a sentiment panel, but a gift card or even a treat or two could easily slide into the pouch.

I used the the largest Mat Stack #7 die and cut out rustic white, summer sunrise, melon berry, and new leaf card stocks.  I cut the rustic white all the way across the "V" center.  I then inked up the pencil tip using the Background:  Woodgrain stamp and inked with harvest gold.  I added a smudge of black ink for a graphite point using the tip of my Memento dew drop in Expresso Truffle.  For the jagged sharpened pencil barrel I used the 1 3/4" pinking edge circle.

My pencil inspiration came from Ticonderoga Pencils.  I have always loved these pencils so the green band at the top was perfect.  I did opt for a little dimension so I used the grid image from Background Basics: Geometric stamped in New Leaf on New Leaf.  For the eraser, the melon berry was the perfect eraser color.  I did enhance the depth a bit with some more melon berry ink sponged on the edges.  All the pieces were ink distressed just a bit with some Rangers Brushed Corduroy.  I just love the chubby pencil look.  The fact that it can be a pencil pouch makes it even better!
