Muse: Christmas Visions Challenge MCV16!

Happy Wednesday!  It is the 3rd Wednesday of the month and time for my
MUSE:  Christmas Vision Card Club Challenge!

For my card I am also playing along with this week's Viva La Verve Sketch Challenge.  I started with a smooth white card base.  I layered it with some Fancy Pants Beloved patterned papers.   I added a silver doily.  For the next element in the sketch, I wanted a contrast with the silver so used Verve's Jotted Heart die to die cut  a gold glitter card stock heart.

I added Verve's Flourished Tag die stamped with Verve's Joy to the World Plain Jane stamped in an electric red. I love this pop of red in contrast to the sour apple, silver, and gold.  I finished my card with a few of Verve's Shine Bright Sequins Mix.

I hope my card inspires you to create a Christmas creation of your own.  I can't wait to see what you create.  Make sure you link up your creations HERE!

Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge- Mason Jar!

It is time for another Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge!

masonjarcraftslove.com

The LEAD of this challenge will be invited to be a Guest Designer in an upcoming challenge!

I love the colors and elements of the inspiration picture.  I started with a white card base.  I layered a PTI snow white linen panel for some texture.  In keeping with the school themed elements, I added a text background using BB Inspiration set in harvest gold ink onto a lemon tart panel for added contrast.  I added red flowers using Vintage Linen flowers.  I added some wink of stella to the center of the flowers for little touches of sparkle.

To create some interest in the stems, I used my MISTI and stamped new leaf and touches of pinefeather that I softened with a sponge.  I then stamped the image again with just new leaf ink.  Gives some depth to the stems and leaves.  I layered two flower stem die cuts together for added dimension and stability.  I opted not to glue the leaves together to give some added interest.  For the sentiment, I  used PTI Sentiment Splits embossed in white to a black fishtail banner.  I finished with a few sequins.

I am using this week's Freshly Made Sketches sketch.

Hello and Thanks!

Happy Sunday!  I had some time to get crafty this afternoon.  I have two cards to share.  For the first card, I started with PTI stampers select white for the base.  I die cut a hawaiian shores panel that I very lightly sponged with white pigment ink for added interest.   I die cut a circle frame using the bitty dot pattern vellum.

When I saw this sketch, I just knew I was going to have to ink up the PTI Flower Favorites again.  I love these beautiful Lupines.  I layered the flowers with a few touches of loose threading behind.  I added a few of the butterflies from the same set.  In keeping with the colors from the challenge, I chose to stamp the flower stems in the neutral tone of fine linen.  I used Bitty Bouquets for the sentiment.  I finished the card with a few clear sequins.

I am playing along with Cardabilities Sketch Challenge, Just Us Girls vellum challenge, and  Colour Q  Color Challenge.

Thanks for Everything!

For my second card I started with MFT kraft.  I cut a smooth white panel of smooth white.  I stamped the diagonal background stamp in different directions to get the sno cone grid pattern.

I layered a pierced rectangle frame that I die cut using the inside/outside stitch circle from Blueprints 18. I stamped the frame with MFT Linen background in natural ink.  I die cut and stamped the Watercolor Flowers.  I die cut a gumball green fishtail flag.  I  assembled card.  I stamped the sentiment using Fall Foliage stamp set with hybrid black licorice.   I used some foam mounting tape to give the center circle some dimension.

I am playing along with The Color Throwdown and Sweet Sunday Sketch.

For my card I focused on the gold and the chalkboard frame in the inspiration photo. I really like the contrast of the kraft with sparkly gold.  I started with a white card stock base.  I layered a snow white linen panel for some subtle texture.  I used Verve's Award Banner Trim die in gold glittered card stock to add banners behind the chalkboard panel.  Next, I wanted a fun, whimsical feel with the lettering and sentiment.  I used the distressed words in Verve's Happy Days stamp set.   I added the words in a random crooked pattern to give the look that someone really did write the words on a chalkboard.  I thought it added to the whimsy feel a bit.   I stamped the greek key border from Verve's Deco Borders stamp set.  I embossed everything in white.   I sponged some white pigment ink on the frame and wording to add to the chalkboard feel.  I  added an additional stamped sentiment on the corner using Verve's Poppy Birthday  with Verve's Flag It die set. I finished the card with a gold glitter card stock chad that came from the Award Banner Trim glitter card stock cutting placed on the flag.

Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge: Orchard!

It is time for a new Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge!

thedesignfiles.net

The LEAD of this challenge will be invited to be a Guest Designer in an upcoming challenge!

I love the rich colors in the inspiration.  The deep rich greens give off a blue green hue.  I started with some Pebbles Lakeside designer papers.  I love the mix of tonal houndstooth with plaid.  I feel they add to the overall orchard vibe.  I added some stitching and twine to add to the rustic feel.  I added two juicy red apples to the card.  I die cut two apples from Verve's Apple die set.  I stamped the coordinating image in hybrid black licorice using Teachers Count stamp set.  I colored both apples with copics.  I used the sentiment from Get Together stamp set.  I love this sentiment.   I guess every teacher feels this way during the summer.  I added a couple of pieces of Verve's Stormy Skies Ribbon Collection(I used the color Deep Sea) tied with some natural hemp cord.  I finished my card with a few Verve Shine Bright Sequin Mix.  I use these sequins ALL the time!  I am using this week's Mojo Monday Sketch.
