Day 4 of our Anni-VERVE-sary Spotlight Hops!

Welcome back to Day 4 of our Anni-VERVE-sary Spotlight Hops! It's an exciting day as there's new Verve in the store this morning! 2 beautiful new sets, 3 die sets and a sequin mix just released and they're all available to order right now. To celebrate our new release, we're putting on another blog hop! Today's featured focus is designer's choice, so you might just sneak a peek at a whole bunch of must-haves!

I made two cards to share today! For my first card, I started with some pattern paper from my stash.

I die cut the Flourished Tag die set tag in white. I stamped one of the scriptures from Scripture Medley 4 in a medium gray ink.

I stamped the heart from Verve's With Love stamp set over in a coral color to coordinate with the paper. I added some black and white twine cut and attached with tiny staples. I finished my card with some of Verve's Shine Bright Sequin Mix.

For my second card, I chose to do some more background watercoloring. I started with watercolor paper. I stamped and white embossed the flowers from Joyful Blooms stamp set. I colored with copics. I added a tumble glass distress ink wash to the background along with some splatters in tumble glass and white. I stamped my scripture from Scripture Medley 4 using a black hybrid ink onto vellum and let it dry.

I wrapped the vellum top to bottom and taped it on the back of the card. I added a touch of leaves across the bottom using the Flourished Tag die set again. I finished with one gold sequin in the center of this leafy sprig using Verve's Gold Package Sequin Mix.

Day 3 of our Anni-VERVE-sary Spotlight Hops!

Friday, August 26. Today we're sharing our first projects featuring the Potter's Clay stamp set and coordinating, Pottery Die Set.

For my card I started with some watercolor paper and did some ink smooshing using peacock feathers and tumble glass distress inks. I added a few splatters from more concentrated inks. I let it dry thoroughly then stamped the sentiment from Potter's Clay stamp set in versafine onyx black in several time using my MISTI.

I die cut the three pottery jars using Pottery Die Set. I stamped each in warm tones to add to the masculine feel of this card. I added a little bit of dimension to only one of the clay pots. I added a few of Verve's Shine Bright Sequin Mix and finished my card by attaching it to a rich teal colored base card stock panel.

Day 2 of our Anni-VERVE-sary Spotlight Hops!

For my card I sponged some warm tones of distress inks onto my background. I die cut the word kindness from the newly release Great Kindness Die Set and used the negative image to sponge in a warm toned distress into across the background of my card. I die cut and copic colored the flowers with the Kindness Matters stamp and coordinating dies.

I die cut the Rounded Scalloped Frame die and layered three of the outer portions of the frame together. I stamped the sentiment in the center. I finished my card with a few of Verve's Shine Bright Sequin Mix.

Verve Anni-VERVE-sary Spotlight Hops!

For my card I started with some watercolor paper. I stamped and white embossed the heart with wings image from Verve's Wings of Love stamp set. I also added a few of the tiny outline heart images. I colored with distress inks. I die cut the word from Verve's Amazing Adjective Words die set. I die cut two words and glued them together for added thickness. I lightly sponged the bottom of the word with some tonal ink for added dimension.

Next, I stamped the sentiment from Scripture Medley 4 stamp set using hybrid black ink onto a strip of vellum and let dry. I wrapped the vellum strip around the card base at an angle and taped to the back. I added a strip of black diagonal stripe pattern paper to the side. I finished my card with a few of Verves Shine Bright Sequin Mix.

August Diva Inspirations Challenge and Blog Hop!

It's time for the Verve Divas to bring you our monthly Diva Inspirations Challenge and Blog Hop!

I started with watercolor paper. I inked the small leafy image from Verve's New Mercies stamp set and did some spritz stamping with distress inks to create my background. Once my background was finished, I added some gold splatters using a gold paint pen mixed with some water on an acrylic block. I set it aside to dry. I took my versamark pad and swiped around the edges and heat embossed in gold. I brushed away the gold embossing powder I did not want before I heated it.

For my flowers, I stamped and watercolored a trio of flowers using the flowers from Verve's Beautiful Things stamp set. Once the flowers were dry I die cut them using the coordinating Beautiful Flowers die set. For my leaves I used Verve's Sunny Day stamp set and Verve's Leafy Sprig die set. I did a color wash of distress inks onto the watercolor paper in hues of greens. I let it dry. I die cut the leafy sprig, stamped with coordinating image, then took a waterbrush to softened/distress the leaves.

For the sentiment I die cut a piece of vellum using Verve's Stitched Pennant die set. I embossed in gold a sentiment from Verve's Words of Wisdom stamp set. I added some loose gold threading and a few gold sequins from Verve's Holiday Sequin Mix.

Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge: Snow Cone!

It's time for a new Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge!

The LEAD of this challenge will be invited to be a guest designer in an upcoming challenge!

For my card I started with some water color paper and papertrey inks. I used some masking tape on the sides. I brushed on clear water first. Then I added color using bright buttercup, hawaiian shores, and hibiscus burst. I kept the colors soft. I popped up an hibiscus flower and leaves from the Some Like It Hot set stamped with berry sorbet. I stamped off the bottom layer.

For the detailed layer I stamped it in versamark and heat set in clear for some added shine and subtle texture. I stamped the sentiment using Tropics stamp set in versafine onyx black. I finished my card with some loose threading, clear sequins, and a touch of tonal glitter to the top of the stamen. I am also playing along with this week's CAS(E) This Sketch.
