Sweet As Can Be!

Happy Wednesday!  Popping in with a fun card to share today.

I am playing along with a couple of blog challenges.  I am playing along with CASE this Sketch, the Color Throwdown, and

For my card, I started with some select white, new leaf, and pure poppy card stocks.  I die cut each panel using A2 Scalloped Borders set. I layered these three panels together using Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive and foam tape to pop up onto a top folding select white card stock base.

Next, I sponged around the edges of the red card stock with versa mark ink.  I felt like it needed a bit more richness so I used pure poppy ink.  I used these makeup blending brushes or you can use the craft labeled blending brushes to blend around the edges.  These brushes are amazing!

For the focal image and sentiment, I stamped the images from Simon Says Stamps July card kit stamp set, BEE Yourself in Versafine onyx black ink.  While this set is all about some bees, I wanted to see if I can use it other ways.  I inked up the stitched heart image and masked off the tiny bee.  I stamped in its place one of the heart images that come in the set.  I did the same for the sentiment.  I masked off the letter "E."   This gives me a cool and refreshing "sweet as can be" slice of watermelon!

I added some Nuvo Crystal Glaze inside the heart. I finished the card with several of the black sequins that come in this month's card kit to mimic watermelon seeds.

For your convenience, here is a list of many of the products I generally use every time I make a card.

As always thanks so much for stopping by!
