I have a card to share today that incorporates a few blog challenges I wanted to play. First of all, I am playing along with this week's Retro Sketch #70. I love that these sketches challenge me to make more CAS styled cards. CAS styled cards are a real challenge for me. What is too much or not enough? Know what I mean? The bikini of cards. No where to hide. I am also playing along with the Dynamic Duos DD59 color challenge. I love colors and I love designer papers. So, this challenge really test my wits. First, I only get to use two colors?! What? (Dramatic pause here just so the impact really sinks in). I mean my dh asked me once how many different wall colors was he going to be able to see from the kitchen? I asked myself...can I do only two? Well, here is my take on it. This week's duos is basic gray and one other color of choice. I chose to use Hawaiian Shores. I am also playing along with Stacey's Stamping Stage Birthday Linky Party! I am so thrilled that Stacey's Curtain Call Challenge is coming back! Woo Hoo!

For my card I am using some PTI stamp sets and some PTI designer paper patterns that I just bought from a very wonderful stamper in the PTI forum. I just loved receiving all these wonderful colors and patterns. I finally got a chance to ink up the rosie posie set with its complimentary definition set. LOVE LOVE LOVE this set! With the duo combo I decided to stamp one each of a flower in each color. I did combine the gray and hawaiian shores for the leaves which were each stamped off for both the base color and the stem color detailing. Love this look. I stamped the frame around the focal panel. I placed my flowers and leaves adding dimension, then place a threaded hawaiian shores button in the corner. Love the clean simplicity of this card with those beautiful flowers!
My DD is 19 years old today! I am so Blessed! She is a wonderful young woman. Where does the time go?
As always thanks so much for stopping by!
Betty
