ODBD For the Love of Backgrounds HOP!

Welcome to Our Daily Bread Design's  Alumni Team's bi-monthly For the Love Blog Hop.  This week the Alumni team along with some of the ODBD designers are featuring a hop for the Love of ODBD Backgrounds!  If you get lost along the way, go to ODBD Blog for the full link list.  One of the post is a hot spot and a name will be drawn from that list of comments to win a $15 ODBD store gift certificate.  So, all you have to do is hop along and see all the creations and leave a little love!  So, get hopping and enjoy all the inspiration using for the Love of ODBD Backgrounds!   If you got here from Silke's blog you are in the right spot.

For my card I am using ODBD Vintage Border Background stanp and Scripture Collection 7. I stamped the background in Memento tuxedo black ink onto kraft cardstock.  I ink distressed the edges and use a brown copic marker to color inside the open spaces of the background for some added dimension.  I  layered a Labels 20 Spellbinder's die.  I sponged inside the frame with some Ranger Vintage Photo.  I used the stamp a ma jig to position the scripture perfectly.  I added a seam binding bow topped with a pink paper flower and green leaves clipped from another flower stem.  I finished with a few tiny gold pearls.   I love the added depth and dimension the background gives without competing with the focal scripture.

As always thanks so much for stopping by!
Next on the hop is Fran!

  38. Hi Betty~

What a beautiful card! I love the colors...and I just love that Vintage bg! I certainly need to invest in some background stamps after working my way through this hop! I love how you used your Copic and colored the open spaces in the bg. The flower is lovely...and to make it more masculine, one could just hang some charms. Easy to change it...beautiful the way it is. And, I love that Proverb!
