Thinking of You! Flourishes FTTC49 and SCS CC253!

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC49)! This week Silke Ledlow is hosting. Silke is challenging us to a sketch she has designed. As far as sketches go, there is not much explanation necessary. You can turn it and enlarge the sections to fit your card size. However, in the end, it should still look like the sketch. Good Luck!!!! Looking forward to seeing what you create with it!!!

For my card I am giving you a sneak peek at a new Flourishes set to be released at the SCS Forum Friday night. I am using Flourishes Thinking of You and Falling Leaves stamp sets. The new set is called Lace Edges. I stamped my entire background using this set. I just love the many different lace edges and shapes that come in this set. I chose to go with subtle detailing for my background this time and used pretty in pink ink. I sponged the edges with some Ranger antique linen and vintage photo inks. I finished my ard with a chocolate bow, gold cording, and gold pearl accenting!

This card is also for today's SCS Color Combo Challenge (CC253)! We are using Pretty In Pink, Chocolate Chip, and Rich Razzleberry. This week's dessert option is houndstooth print or texture!

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge!

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC16)! This week Silke Ledlow is hosting the challenge!!! It is all about shapes this week. Silke is challenging us to go square with our cards. A square has four right angles and fours sides the same length. We are stepping away from the standard A2 card and going square!!! Go square with us this week!!! We would love to see what you create!!!

Since I generally make most of my cards square, I chose to go smaller. This card is only 4.25 squared. A big difference to me from my normal 5.5 square. I am using the newly released DIY Topiaries and Many Sentiments sets. Instead of using one of the topiaries as my focal point, I opted for one of the smaller groupings of topiaries in the set to create a stamped background. It was super easy and fast to do with clear images to see where I stamped. I outlined each of the mini topiaries with a copic shadow marker(C1) to give the topiaries some definition.
I inked a spanish script background image in dark chocolate. I stamped off twice then stamped over the whole background. I sponged the background with Ranger antique linen and the edge with vintage photo to create an aged look. I wanted to use the sentiment as the focal image, yet have some topiaries in the background. I stamped off image once so the topiaries behind the sentiment are very subtle. Again, I sponged the the sides and edges. I finished with some gold pearls and tiny butterfly punches. I love the way it turned out!!!
Be sure to check out the other Friends of Flourishes Blog team

Someone Special

This card is for the Papertrey Inspiration Spring Fling Challenge going on at the PTI blog. Each designer chose an inspiration picture to inspire us to create a card. I chose Becky Oehler's picture. I just love some reds, greens, and blacks!!! Here is the link to the inspiration picture.

I am using two PTI sets. The flowers are from Flower Garden and the sentiment is from Mailbox Greetings. I stamped all the flowers in Palette Noir ink and then did the two step stamping with PTI pure poppy, hibiscus, spring moss, and ripe avocado. I also used some SU yoyo yellow and only orange. To create the look of the bedding I sponged all the spring moss cardstock with spring moss ink to make it richer. I stamped the lines using a CHF fine lines backgrounder in versamark to create the striped sheets. I kept my card pretty simple in kepting with the bright clean colors of the inspiration picture. I used a small long scalloped frame for my sentiment to give the look of the scalloped edged pillow in the center of the bed. I finished my card with some black double stitched ribbon and assorted colored buttons since buttons were used in the picture as well.

Blessings!

This card is for a couple of challenges!!! First it is for today's inspiration challenge. Thanks Stef for the wonderful choices on the Kleenex boxes. I chose this one for my inspiration.

This card is also for yesterday's Limited Supplies Challenge(LSC217). We were to create a card inspired by the colors of a room in our home. Thanks, Jeanne for this cool challenge. I chose my living room which is painted Thunderbird by Benjamin Moore. It is really a soft sky or aqua mist color. I have chocolates, mochas, and blacks...with a few pops of reds. For my card, I tried to stay in the chocolate and aqua mist hues since those are the primary colors in my living room.

I am using ODBD set called The Cross of Christ. I used one piece of some new K & Co dp I picked up at Micheal's the other day. I thought this soft floral dp looked a lot like the print on the Kleenex box. I also created the piece of paper on the right using some background stamps. I tried to keep things limited so my embellishments are two brads and a piece of ribbon.

PAPER

Merry Christmas

This card is for SCS Feature Stamper Challenge (FS93) Congratulations, Kendra!!!!! You have a fabulous gallery with so many wonderful creations to choose from. Here is the card I chose to case
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1128414?cat=500&ppuser=1321
I tried to keep the layout the same…….arched half circle on the left. I did stamp my sentiment going up the side instead of across the bottom.
I focused on dp just like Kendra as well. The focal image is all a section of glittery dp by My Mind’s Eye. I just love this vintage and very sparkly Santa!!! I love that I could make a few fast Christmas cards. I stamped the sentiment from my CHF Christmas Expressions set.
I added cream organdy ribbon, gold cording, and two small gold brads to each card. On one of the cards, I heated up the organdy ribbon to give it a crinkle effect.
That is it....call it done!!! Woo Hoo!!! Sometimes it is all about the sentiment and dp!!!!! What do you think of my FAST Christmas cards!!!!

I just want to add that it is RARE that I find a stack of dp that I really like at Micheal's. I just happened across the My Mind's Eye collection that I thought looked wonderful. I also had a 50% off coupon so I got it. There are pages of wonderful glittery Christmas patterns and styles. I really love using glitter without the mess!!!! Wow!!!!
