Gardening! C4C146 and MORE!

Happy Saturday, everyone!  It is time for another challenge with the crazies at Crazy 4 Challenges(C4C146).   KelliJo is the hostess for July.     She has challenged us to real or faux stitches this week!  Check out the blog because Kimmie Stamps is our sponsor this week!

For my card I am using Kimmie Stamps.  This image is from the Springtime Lulu stamp set by Cheryl Alger.  Isn't Lulu adorable in her gardening gear!  Fun sentiment, too!

I colored with copics and stitched the background panels.  I kept my card pretty clean and simple to let this adorable girl get all the attention!

Check out what the rest of the team did with the sketch!

As always thanks so much for stopping by!

Check out each link and leave a comment. If you get lost along the way, check the ODBD blog for full list of links.  One of the post is a hop hot spot and a name will be drawn from that list of comments to win a $15 ODBD store gift certificate.  So, all you have to do is hop along and see all the creations and leave a little love!  You have until Wednesday, August 1st at 6 pm.   Enjoy all the festive inspiration using For the Love of ODBD embossing plates!
If you got here from Tosh's blog you are in the right place.

For my card I am using ODBD Vintage Border Embossing Plate along with Bird and Butterfly Labels and Mini Tags 3 stamp sets.  I am also using the coordinating Spellbinder's Label 18 die.

For this card I chose to use the faux letterpress technique.  This technique is so easy.  Just add ink to the plate, cardstock, and emboss.  The ink sinks into the debossed portion of the plate.  I love the finished look.

I finished with one of the Bird and Butterfly images stamped in the same ink with a sentiment from Mini Tags 3.  I added a seam binding bow and a few touches of bling.  These spellbinder frame card toppers can be made up ahead of time and added to a card when in a pinch or for a card set for gift giving.  The added embossing plate touch gives it that extra something special touch.

Just so you know...ODBD is having a CHA Show special that is running through the 20th, of this month, at Midnight EST. Here's the info:

Orders of $100.00-$149.00 may use code CHA10 to receive 10% off the order!

Be Still! C4C, and MORE!

Happy Saturday, everyone!  It is time for another challenge with the crazies at Crazy 4 Challenges(C4C145).   KelliJo is the hostess for July.     She has a sketch for us this week!   Great sketch, KelliJo!

For my card I am using ODBD Scripture Collection 3 and Flourished Verses stamp sets.   I am playing along also with ODBD Shining the Light Challenge (ODBDSLC115)!    It is tearing or distressing.  I chose to go with ink distressing.   I used an older paper pad from MME in my collection.  Most of these older paper pads of mine hardly have any paper left so it is like a fun challenge to use what is left. I layered the circles, added some stitching, and finished with a few gold pearls and flower topped seam binding bow.  To me the scripture says it all!

Check out what the rest of the team did with the sketch!

As always thanks so much for stopping by!

Kind Words, Mojo, and MORE!

Happy Thursday!  I have a card to share today using this week's MOJO Monday 249 Sketch.  Lately I have been sorting through and using some of my older paper pads.  It is sort of a challenge in itself to use the papers that are  remaining in one pad.  For this card I am using some MME Be Happy dp.

I am using Verve's Kind Words stamp set and Verve's Cut Above Loopy Blooms die set.
I stamped the sentiment directly to designer paper.  I added a fun loopy bloom border then layered one for the top corner accent.  I finished with some buttons and a seam binding bow.

As always thanks so much for stopping by!

Heaven & Earth, ODBDSLC115, CC383, and MORE!!

Happy Tuesday!  I have a card to share with you today.  This card is for today's SCS Color Combo Challenge(CC383)! Raspberry Pirouette Cakes! Check out the link to play along and to find out about our dessert option.

I am using ODBD
Scripture Collection 3 set along with the newly released Calla Lily set.  I am also playing along with ODBD Shining the Light Challenge(ODBDSLC115)  tearing or distressing.  I guess I did a little of both.

For my card I knew I wanted to distress it a bit in keeping with the dessert option as well as.  I thought it would look great to stamp and color the new Calla Lily set around the edges and lightly color.  I ink distressed the edges.  To make sure I had room for my scripture I thought it would look cool to add a more modern feel with the pennant tag stitch to the top left topped with a button and twine for a more vintage distress feel.    I really love how it turned out.  I think the ink distressing really toned down the boldness of the colors a bit.

American Proud! C4C and MORE!

Happy Saturday, everyone!  It is time for another challenge with the crazies at Crazy 4 Challenges(C4C144).   KelliJo is the hostess for July.  The first challenge she has for us is "Show your Country's Pride"  Use the colors of your Country's Flag and use that as your jumping off point.

For my card, I am using Verve's American Hero stamp set.  I am also using Verve's Cut Above I Heart U die set.    I am using the sketch from this week's Viva La Verve Week 2.  Charmaine is the host.  Great sketch, Charmaine!

I am using some MME  On the Bright Side designer papers. I decided to go for an All American themed look with lots of textures and patterns.  I actually love the finished look.  I love America and I am Proud to Be an American!  WooHoo!

If you got here from Tosh's blog you are in the right place.

For my card I am using His Gift stamp setFor this card I chose to go with a soft slightly distressed cream color.  I just love this sentiment quote that comes in the set.  This is one of those cards that you can make a few as you go in different colors.  I kept it pretty simple with the background pattern, added a pretty ornate Spellbinder's frame, then softly sponged inside the sentiment oval.  I finished with  a few gold pearls, seam binding bow, and topped with a pearlized gold framed button from my stash.  I just love the richness and the simplicity of this card.

As always thanks so much for stopping by!  Enjoy the hop!  Next up is Angie' blog.

Sing a New Song! Flourishes Bring Back Beautiful Challenge (BBB24)!

Welcome to another month of Flourishes Bring Back Beautiful Challenge!  (BBB24)!   This month's Challenge is  The Beauty of Winged Things!  Birds, butterflies, even lady bugs -- let your creativity flow on this challenge aimed at honoring those creatures with wings on your card or creation!

A big welcome to Geri who won last month's Flourishes challenge and joins us this month on the BBB Challenge team!

For my card today I chose to go all rose with a touch of bluebird!  I am using Flourishes Spring is Sprung stamp set.  I used Flourishes Classic Ivory card stock.   I used Ranger Brushed Corduroy ink to slightly ink distress the edges of all my card  stock and designer papers.  I layered the focal image with  Spellbinder's dies.   I used the Spellbinder's Nested Pennants for the sentiment.

I decided to do Outline Color Stamping for the focal image.   To make inking a stamp with multiple colors easy, I used Ranger Ink Blending tool, replacement foam. For the colors I used Ranger Peeled Paint, Memento Rose Bud, Memento Summer Sky, and Memento Bahama inks.    I cut up one of the replacement foams  into several pieces.  I placed it in the corner and dabbed at the ink.  I then inked the stamp according to the color I wanted for that area.  I love the finished results.  Definitely want to try this look more.

I finished the card with some sewing machine stitches, paper distressing, and seam binding bow topped with gold trimmed with white centered button from my stash.  I did add two corsage pins to complete the look.

As always thanks so much for stopping by!  Make sure to check out all the other beautiful creations from the Bring Back Beautiful Designers!

For my card I am using the newly released set called Flowering Faith.   This set comes with some wonderfully designed sentiments and one solid  flowering image.   I decided to use one of the flourished FAITH sentiments today along with a layered Spellbinder's Blossom 3 flower die.

I die cut the flower layers with this fun pattern paper, ink distressed each one and crinkled(technical term;)) them up a bit and added the wonderful FAITH sentiment attached with stick pins like a little pennant.  Love the carefree look and colors of this card.  Just like Faith.  Free! No worries!   To worry or to have faith?  It is a choice.  Great quote for sure!
