I Believe In You and a Background text style tip!

I am finally getting this week's SCS sketch challenge(SC231)done. Thanks, Dawn for filling in for Roxie!!! Great sketch!!! I guess you could say I slightly modified the sketch to accomodate my 5.5 square card size.

I am using PTI Background Text Style for the script background. I stamped one of the solid flower images from the Life set in the scripted panels. I sponged each of the panels with some antique linen ink. My sentiment came from the PTI Mailbox Greetings set. I added gold cording, gold pearl domes, and little butterflies with gold pearl domes to finish the card. I scored the background spring moss cardstock and sponged it to add some dimension and texture. I love how it turned out.

BACKGROUND TIP: (Two tips in One)! I love background stamps and I am always searching for something that appeals to me. Well, I love script backgrounds....my banner alone designed by Jami Bova should speak loud and clear about how much I love script text. So, when this text style background was introduced from PTI, I had to have it.

After playing around with the images, it became obvious to me that I was going to have to come up with something for my aging vision. These images appealed to me because they are so small. However, when looking at a clear stamp it is difficult when it is so small to know if you are stamping it with the writing reading from left to right. Naturally, a solution to my upsidedown stamping which I did numerous times was in order. I decided to line the top of the back of the image with a permanent black marker so I would always know which side was the top. After I did this, I realized that the black solid line shows through the clear image and the clear block giving me a point to line up my next image so I can make numerous stampings and they are all spaced correctly giving me a smooth flowing text. So, one tip gave me two solutions!!! Two tips in one!!! Since all of the images are probably cut differently, you will probably need to figure out with your own set what point of reference with the line works for you for each stamp in the set. Just thought I would share.

  4. Love this card with all the script and that gold cord. You know what, the very first card of yours that caught my eye had cord wrapped around it several times (the pink relaxed snowman card..remember that one?)...love when you use cord as an accent! :)
