Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC60) and CC264!

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC60)! It is the last Tuesday of the month so we have us a challenge host. This month's challenge host is Denise Marzec(Peanutbee)!   Denise is challenging us to an Inspiration Challenge! Denise has chosen three gorgeous pictures to get inspired by for our cardmaking. Pick one or do all three during the week. We would love to see what you create!
I am using Flourishes Damask background, Thank You, and Gerber Daisies stamp sets!  I alterd the background panel of one of the Webster's Pages dp.  I used Spellbinder's scallop square for center square panel.  I layered it with another Webster Page's dp.   I only sponged it with some scattered straw ranger ink.  I added silver  pearls, a satin ribbon bow, some flourished gem accenting and my sentiment. For my sentiment, I used Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock.  I used the Spellbinders Label 10 die cut for my sentiment framing.

This card is also for today's SCS Color Combo Challenge(CC264)!   Today, we are using Bermuda Gray Saffrons with crushed colorful flowers for dessert option!  The crushed, layered, punched, distressed flower, or vintage flower inspiration came from Betsy Veldman and Mercy Kerin's blog tutorials.  I sort of mimic the looks...sort of morph them a bit.    I am still practicing!

Please check out the other blog team designers did which inspiration picture they chose and what they created with the inspiration!

As always thanks so much for stopping by!  Comments are greatly appreciated and I do try to return all that I receive!

Stamping In Time: On Assignment (SNTODBD6)!

It is time for Stamping In Time: On Assignment Challenge(SNTODBD6)!  This week's challenge is all about Monochromatic cards!  Choose a color of choice with any neutrals and go for it!  Check out the ODBD SNT blog link to find out how to play along!

I am using ODBD I am the Way... stamp set. I just love this lily that comes in this wonderful Easter set.  Along with some wonderful Easter sentiments are scriptures.  There is also another smaller flower in the set, too.  I am using SEI designer papers.  I combined this wonderful textured paper with the Spellbinders Lattice Pendant and Nestabilities Label Twelve.  I colored my lily with copics.  I added a layered sheer ribbon border and sheer bow with a layered buttons and pearl accent.  I finished my card with touches of pearls in the layered corners.  Also, this card is for this week's ODBD Shining the Light Challenge(ODBDSLC6)...to think Spring! I think my soft lime green card is definitely screaming Spring!

I am wanting to know if anyone would like to host a Stamping In Time challenge and make a sample to be featured at the ODBD blog post along with me.  All interested people, please let me know via pm at SCS!  Thanks so much!

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC59) and CC263!

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC59)! This week I am hosting!  I am challenging you all to "fake it"! We are using faux techniques this week on our cards and projects. There are a list of many amazing faux ideas in theTutorial section at SCS. Check them out here. So, create something faux fabulous with us this week. We would love to see what you create!

I chose to make Faux Silk.    I am using Flourishes Sweet Peas and Tag Lines stamp sets.  I used regular tissue paper that I would put in with a birthday gift bag.  I stamped my smaller sweet peas onto the white tissue paper using Momento Tuxedo Ink.  I colored the image using Flourishes Copic Color Collection in Hollyhock and Meadow.  I had a difficult time with the copics only because the tissue paper had a tendancy to bleed a bit.  Of course, I left it because this is what real silk would do, too.  So, this bleeding sort of gives it a real faux finish.  Makes it more plausible.

I cut out the image with a circle nestabilities.  I cut out the same image using Flourishes Classic White cardstock.  I put glue stick all over the white cardstock and adhered my tissue.   It is very important not to smooth out all of the wrinkles as that is what gives it the faux silk look.  I ran both back through with the same die cut only together this time to get rid of any frayed edges and unevenness.  I think it sort of set the creases for me too.  I love this technique and would love to try it again.  It is definitely one of the more easier techniques to try.

This card is also for SCS Color Combo Challenge (CC263)!  This week is all about Pink Creamy Durangos!  Pretty In Pink, Creamy Caramel, and Dusty Durango!  You have to see the link and picture to believe this one!  This week's dessert option is LEAVES!

Please check out the other blog team designers did with the fake it with fauxs!

As always thanks so much for stopping by!  Comments are greatly appreciated and I do try to return all that I receive!

A little ditty.....hold onto 16...again? I have a PTI card, too!

Remember the song by then...John Cougar(Mellencamp)  "....hang onto 16 as long as you can cause changes coming round real soon to make us women and men."    We leave our teen years behind, go to college, get us a cool car only to trade it in on the minivans and family SUVs.  Then, one day...our little babies grow up and want cars of their own.  My dh came in the other day nearly breathless with excitement.   I thought he had been running.  He said, ".....it was a fabulous deal and he picks it up at 7."  What?  I ask.  He replies, "....A JEEP for Erica!"  Watching the two of them together with this vehicle is amazing.  I do not know which one is more stoked about it.  Really, this jeep is for ERICA?   This top photo I took just before Erica zipped out of the drive.  Greg said, "...hurry and take the picture I am getting a cramp."  I burst out laughing.  Thank goodness he has a chauffeur for a bit...at least until she actually turns 16 and kicks dad to the sofa.  LOL!

Erica with her NEW RIDE!

This card is for a challenge Anne Ryan is starting called Queen for a Day!  This week we are honoring Peggy(Marilynpreston) at SCS.  Here is the card I chose to CASE

My card is green and brown with ivory because I initially thought I could combine this card with this week's CAS58 challenge which is to use these colors. However, about 15 minutes into making it, I decided that the little layered crushed flowers were giving me a fit(simple part no longer applied). This is my first experience with the crushed layered flowers. Not sure how to feel about mine. I think they would look better in another color, but I tried to comply with the CAS color challenge. I used basicgrey origins dp for the flowers.

I stamped the background using dark chocolate and stamped off to make it lighter using one of the script text in the background textstyle image.  I rocked and rolled the larger leafy image in the Turning Leaf set.  I sponged heavily.....outlined my leafy image in C1, and added my crushed layered basicgrey origins flowers!  I got my inspiration and aspirations from Betsy Veldman.  Check out her AMAZING flowers!    WOW!

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC58) and SCS (CC262)!

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC58)! This week Silke Ledlow is our challenge host! Silke has designed a sketch for us to try. Actually, Silke designed two sketches. Are you are feeling the round or the square? You could be feeling a bit of both and play twice! As far as sketches go, you can turn them increase or decrease the sizes a bit, but in the end, it should still look like the sketch. We would love to see what you create with us this week!

I chose the square sketch!  Big stretch since I always do square, huh?  Oh, well!  It is a choice!  I did have to turn it a bit to fit my stamp choice!  I am using Flourishes Summer Blossoms and Many Sentiments stamp sets.  This set is starting to become one of my go to sets when I need a quick card with lots of impact!  I know it comes with wonderful flowers, but sometimes you need quick and easy.  I stamped one of the many stems that come in this set.  I added some dp punched flowers with gold pearl centers and ta da!  My focal image was complete.  Now, the rest of the card gave me a bit of a fit, but I finally got all the pieces and parts, textures, and ribbons the way I wanted and called it done!

This card is also for today's SCS Color Combo Challenge with dessert option(CC262)!

Please check out the other blog team designers did with the sketches!

Thoughts of You! H{ippity} Hop Monday!

This card is for today's H{ippity} Hop Monday! I bought me some Unity Ippity stamps. This set is called Regal Greetings. I used one of the images and one of the sentiments to stamp my background paper(DP by ME)! The DP by ME is also today's SCS Technique Challenge TLC264)! I know how to do this technique! Thanks, Holly!

For my dp, I started with a 4.5 square of ivory cardstock.  I stamped sort of straight, but not too focused on precision one of the smaller medallions in the Regal Greetings set.  I used dark chocolate ink and stamped off to give me this lighter shade of brown.  I sponged the edges a bit using Ranger antique linen and vintage photo.   I used the Thoughts of You sentiment and stamped at an angle  using Pretty in Pink.  I repeated this step alittle more off center from the pink with the dark chocolate.  I layered an EK Success border punch and added the sentiment as the focal point along with my chunky bow with button accenting.  I played around with covering up some of the image with something else, but decided I liked this simple look!

Thanks so much for hopping by!  As always, your comments are greatly appreciated!

Today!

Today's card is for a couple of challenges! It is for today's SCS Feature Stamper Challenge(FS162)! Gorgeous gallery, Kristen. Here is the card I chose to case.

This card is also for ODBD Second Anniversary Challenges (ODBD2AC2)! This is day two of the challenges and there is an inspiration picture. This is where I derived my colors and paper choices.
Kristen focused on the dp, a sentiment, and a few pearls for her card. I did the same for mine. I am using ODBD stamp set called Let Us Begin. I used one of the quotes by Mother Teresa that come in the set. I stamped it directly to my Webster's Pages dp. Every once and awhile a dp comes along that is so gorgeous there is NOTHING else that needs to be done with it. I added a few punched butterflies. Two came from the trimmings of the Webster's Pages. One came from BasicGrey Origins. I finished with my fou fou bow, button, gold cording, and a few gold pearls.

Cheerful Heart!

This card is for a few challenges! It is for today's SCS Inspiration Challenge (IC223)!     I chose the Vintage Playground Fabric as my inspiration at the Warm Biscuit website!

This card is also for ODBD Second Anniversary Challenges (ODBD2AC1)!  Today's challenge is to use cotton!  I am using twill tape.  I stamped the image from the Get Well set onto the twill in ripe avocado ink.   This card is also for ODBD Stamping In Time Challenge (SNTODBD5)!  I am using a couple of new spellbinder die cuts, some NEW Webster pages, and the SU SAB punch!

This card is also for this week's Crazy4Challenges(C4C28)!  We are to make a masculine card.  I know I added a fou fou bow, but really...it is twill!  I do not think twill is girly...at least not this one.  I kept the patterns and colors sort of manly, too.  Plus, the pearls are brown.  I even kept my texture sort of manly.  Do you think it is masculine or boyish enough?

I have used that one several times this week already, though.   I am using K&Company dp.  I used the Martha Stewart butterfly punch and the Martha Stewart Doily Lace Edge Punch at the top of the background panel.   I finished with a satin ribbon bow and tiny gold pearls!  Please check out Stamping to the Wright blog post for more card details!

Flourishes Grand Opening Sneak Peek Sparkle Celebration and a CASE!

Let the Flourishes Grand Opening fun continue! Today, it's all about the *sparkle!* That's our simple challenge for the day. We think our new store shines with fun. So, let's make a card that shows off our glitzy side! Simply create and link up here on the Flourishes Blog and you'll be in the running for a goody bag from Flourishes! If you upload to SCS, please use the keyword FLLCCEL4 and FLLC. You have until Monday, March 15th at 6 PM EST to link up your cards. And, as you make the rounds to visit our talented designers, you'll see a soon to be released set called Lily of Hope. This set will be released right after our Power Hour Release Party Friday night at 9 PM CST in our SCS Member Company Forum!

For my card I am using the soon to be released set Lily of Hope!  This set packs a huge punch!  Wonderful flowers, sentiments, and inspiration!  I am using Flourishes Classic White cardstock.  I colored my Lily with Flourishes Copic Color Collections in Buttercup, Delphinium, Green Grass, and Meadow.  The C1(Cool Neutrals) and BV20(Hyacinth) were use for flower shading.    I am using Basic Gray Nook & Pantry dp.  I have decided that I should NOT be left alone in my craftroom with bling.  I sort of went ALL out on the glitz factor!  I just had a hard time stopping.  Sparkle is so much fun!  I added a little paper pierced butterfly detailing to my card.  I found a template that would work with the butterfly....pierced it...and punched it out.  I need to do this look more often with my shape punches.  The piercing touch qualifies it for the C4C27 Challenge this week...paper piercing!  This card is also for the new Scrap-Creations Basic Gray challenge!

Please check out the other designers to see what they created with the soon to be release stamp set and *sparkle*!

********
This is my card for Wednesday's challenge to CASE a Flourishes designer(FLLCCEL3)!   I was unable to post because my dd decided she would dig up her time capsule she buried a few years ago and ended up cutting the phone line.  Nearly 254 hours later and over $100 in cable guy call, I am back online!

I chose to CASE the NEW FOF member Barbara Anders!  Here is her card I chose to CASE.  I must admit I tried to follow the sketch, but I had to alter it a bit to fit my image.  The basic concept of the layout, pattern choices with different dp, and embellishments are there.

I am using the soon to be released Friendly Reminders.  I combined it with some MB Gossamer dp. I am using Flourishes Classic White cardstock.  I colored my Lily with Flourishes Classic Color Collections in Delphinium, Fields, and Flesh Tones.  I added my fou fou bow with some gold pearls and it was complete!

By the way, my dd could not find her time capsule.  She cannot remember where she buried it!  Go figure!  Thanks so much for stopping by!  As always your comments are greatly appreciate!
