Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC72), CC276, C4C42, Tearoom15!

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC72) ! This week Silke Ledlow is hosting. She is challenging us to a sketch she has designed. As far as sketches go, there is not much of an explanation necessary. You can turn it and modify the shapes to fit your size card, but in the end, it should still look like the sketch. Good Luck!!! We cannot wait to see what you do with it!  I am using Spring Bouquet and Fanciful Flourishes stamp sets. I turned the sketch to the right.  I added border punch, fou fou bow, paper roses, and flourishes Line Pearls.  I layered Spellbinders Label Eleven with Big Scallop Ovals.  Love the look of them layered like this.

This card is for today's SCS Color Combo Challenge(CC276)! There is a dessert option, but I totally forgot it! Now... there's a first!
It is for The Shabby Tea Room Week #15 Cottage Comfort Inspiration Challenge.
This card is for Crazy 4 Challenges(C4C42)!  To use either handmade or store bought paper flowers. Well, I have been wanting to buy and to use these tiny roses. They come on wire which I just clip off and use a glue dot to adhere.

Stamping In Time: On Assignment Challenge(SNTODBD10)! cQc33, Cards for Men!

It is time for ODBD Stamping In Time Challenge On Assignment(SNTODBD10)! Silke Ledlow is our challenge host this month! Silke is challenging us with a sketch! It is a high and low card or tall and thin. Your choice! However, it is not an A2 or a square card sketch! Good luck and have fun with it! Check out the ODBD blog link to find out how to play along for a chance to win!

For my card, I chose to go with a 5 X 7 size design.  I am using ODBD Keep My Lamp Burning stamp set.  I am using the colors from the Color Q Challenge(cQc#33)!  For the record, I had a hard time with these colors.  I wanted to make a manly card to comply with the Cards for Men Challenge #10 with an "outdoor" theme.  I really think these colors lend themselves to manly looks and outdoors.  I am not sure which color gave me the hardest time, though.  Maybe it was just that there were four.  LOL!  It is a challenge, though!  Actually, it could be that it is just a manly card that makes it tough.  Always need to stretch my horizons with those.

To keep the sketch from getting too busy for me with the four colors, I opted to keep the panels in the same color with just a hint of soft suede showing.  I also decided to use the same cb ef on them as well. I stamped my image using soft suede and sponged the sun and backgrounds.  I cut out an additional lighthouse to adhere over the top for added dimension.  I thought it needed something else so I added Ranger Crackle Accents and let it dry.  This stuff is amazing and cracks on its on.  Once it is dry and cracked I added a little bit of soft suede over it to seep into the cracked pores a bit to highlight those.  It is really cool to see how it looks from start to finish.  Once my card was complete I added some gold pearls.  I backed a few with my 1/4" square punch to look a bit more manly and to ground them.  I added my scripture tag.  I was thrilled that the scripture fit this punch.  I added a bit of linen thread and sponged the edges.  I like how it turned out.   Now, as for the man part of the card, I really wanted to put a flower or big bow on it! Go figure!

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC58) and SCS (CC262)!

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC58)! This week Silke Ledlow is our challenge host! Silke has designed a sketch for us to try. Actually, Silke designed two sketches. Are you are feeling the round or the square? You could be feeling a bit of both and play twice! As far as sketches go, you can turn them increase or decrease the sizes a bit, but in the end, it should still look like the sketch. We would love to see what you create with us this week!

I chose the square sketch!  Big stretch since I always do square, huh?  Oh, well!  It is a choice!  I did have to turn it a bit to fit my stamp choice!  I am using Flourishes Summer Blossoms and Many Sentiments stamp sets.  This set is starting to become one of my go to sets when I need a quick card with lots of impact!  I know it comes with wonderful flowers, but sometimes you need quick and easy.  I stamped one of the many stems that come in this set.  I added some dp punched flowers with gold pearl centers and ta da!  My focal image was complete.  Now, the rest of the card gave me a bit of a fit, but I finally got all the pieces and parts, textures, and ribbons the way I wanted and called it done!

This card is also for today's SCS Color Combo Challenge with dessert option(CC262)!

Please check out the other blog team designers did with the sketches!

Flourishes Grand Opening Celebration!

Flourishes has been waiting to officially unveil its new home on the web for months and this week we're kicking off five days of fun and games to celebrate the big event! Today's challenge is a bit sketchy – literally. PageMaps.com hostess and Flourishes artist Becky Fleck whipped up a special sketch just for our celebration! Use it for your own creation, link up at the Flourishes blog post here and you could walk away the winner of our day one drawing for a goody bag from Flourishes (it's a fun-filled surprise!). If you upload to Splitcoast, please use the keyword FLLCCEL1. You have until Monday, March 15th at 6 PM EST to link up your cards!

For my card I am using A Year of Flowers 1 and Tag Lines.  I am using Flourishes Classic White cardstock.  I stamped my image using Momento Tuxedo black ink.  I colored the pansies using Flourishes Copic Color Collection in Delphinium, Hydrangea, Sky, and Fields.  I finished my card with some silver pearl accenting and black gingham ribbon!

Please check out the other designers to see what they created using the sketch!

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC42)!

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC42)! This week Silke Ledlow is our challenge host. Silke is challenging us to a sketch she has designed. As far as sketches go, there is not much of an explanation necessary. You can turn it and modify the shapes to fit your size card, but in the end, it should still look like the sketch. Thanks for a great sketch, Silke!!! We cannot wait to see what you all create!

I am using one of the new releases this month called Winter Bouquet and Holiday Greetings. I used Momento Tuxedo ink and Flourishes Classic ivory cardstock. I colored with Flourishes Copic Color Collection. I used the same stamp with versamark onto the always artichoke to create a stamped background. I added some texture, vintage ink distressing, and punch accenting. I finished with my sheer bow, gold cording, and gold pearls.

Please check out the other blog team designer's cards to see what they created with the limited challenge for you this week.

This card is also for today's SCS Color Challenge(CC245)! Today is all about Always Real Chocolate! I just want to say that my computer is fried! I had to borrow the kids's tower to even get online today. As you can see, my card picture is using a typed watermark instead of my usual. I have no watermarks and editing software on this computer. I hope I can be up and running on my computer soon!!!
