Simple Pleasures!

I had a bit of time to stamp for fun today! WooHoo! Of course, there are things around the house that I could have done, but I really needed to stamp!

This is the room I chose as my inspiration!

I am also doing The Corrosive Blog Challenge for the GUYS! This week we are make a card for the guys! Goodness that is so hard for me. I still added my fou fou bow and a butterfly. The butterfly is marine mist and only sports one gold pearl so I am thinking it can be a manly butterfly. The bow is brown? This is about as manly as I can get I am thinking.  This card is also for Speedy the Cats Friend Challenge #18!

I like to cheat the nesties from time to time to get more bang for my buck.  I am using the new lacey squares, but I needed a rectangle.  So, I cut out two and pieced together.  You really cannot tell and I think it looks great!  Thrilled about this look!

Stamps
Verve Floral Whimsy and Serenity sets
Paper
soft suede, marine mist, ivory, marine mist dp, retired soft suede dp
Ink
soft suede, Tim Holtz stormy skies
Accessories

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC81) and CC285!

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC81)! This week Maki Jones is our challenge host. Maki is challenging us to use lace. Whether you have real lace, lace punches, lace paper, or any other type of lacy item, add a bit of elegance to your cards this week with some lace. We would love to see what you create!

This card is also for this week's SCS Color Combo Challenge(CC285)!  Pacific Razzleberry Olives!  Check out the link to find out about the dessert option!  Notice that I added lots of Pacific Point somewhat less of old olive, and just two tiny touches of rich razzleberry.  I always love to play around with color ratios, too.

I am using Flourishes Ferns and Fiddles and Kids Play stamp sets.  This card is CAS for me. I combined it with my "go to" CAS sketch from last summer.  This card is also for today's Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger Inspiration:  Light and Bright!  Everything from the Pacific Point blue with the couch and the ocean to the two little rich razzleberry butterflies.  Totally light and bright!   I was trying to go for a manly card, but at the last minute I added the rosettes( they are in blue) and butterflies(not very manly).  I did add the lace and velvet combination ribbon.  I added my silver pearls which are a faux metal brad to me. They are metallic.   I think they still could go for manly depending on how they are used.  This complies with The Shabby Tea Rooms #24 metal and inspiration picture.  The colors in that bracelet are very similar, too.  Hmmm.  I am also playing Stamptacular Sunday Challenge!  Twos better than one! This is also for Mark's Finest Papers a Harvest card!  I used ferns and rich regal colors to convey my harvest look!

Check out the other blog team designers to see what they created with lace!

Thank You!

I SPY PTI!  My new goodies came in the mail yesterday and I finally had a chance to play with them!  After three week's in England my dh is finally home!  WooHoo!  So glad!  It was a very long three weeks for us all.   This is for SCS Feature Stamper(FS185) and SCS Queen for the Day(QFTD23) Challenges.  Heather, aka, Princessheather is honored not only with the QFTD but also Feature Stamper this week.  This is her card I chose to CASE.

Since the colors Heather used on her card are very similar to the Colour Q #46 this week, I thought I would play along in that color challenge!

I decided to combine a few blog challenges with this project.  That alone has become a challenge in itself.  To surf thru the blogs and pick different challenges and try to combine as many as I can on a card.  LOL!
TPE80 ribbon and sparkles.  The card uses glitter gel pen on the center of the flowers and the little treat tote uses gem flourishes.  The gift tote also complies with City Crafter Challenge(CCCB18) a girl on a card.  My silhouette of a girl reading  is tiny, but it is a girl!   This is also for Simon Says Challenge to make a gift, Stampin B's Challenge #72  to use a diecut, circle, and a flower. My diecut is the scalloped rectangle and sentiment, my circles are the buttons and polka dotted ribbon, and the fowers are the main image.  For Stamptacular Sunday Challenge 73 to Two's Better Than One, I created a card and gift ensemble and used two different focal image stamps!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by!

Stamps
PTI Gladiolas and All Booked Up, Round and Round(sentiment), For the Graduate(stamped treat frame)
Paper
SU Baja dp, Flourishes ivory, SU cherry cobbler and daffodil delight
Ink
Memento tuxedo black and PTI camomile
Accessories
Copics, MS butterfly punch, glitter, sakura gel pen, copics, nestabilities, spellbinders, sizzix tags, PTI button and ribbon and impressions plate

Stamping In Time: On Assignment Challenge(SNTODBD16)!

It is time for Stamping In Time on Assignment Challenge(SNTODBD16)! It is time for another challenge! The assignment is ODBD stamps. We have a challenge host! Mary Marsh is hosting this challenge! Thank you so much, Mary! Mary is challenging us to Birds of Seasons! Create a card using a bird with a spring, summer, winter, or fall theme. You can go with any occasion that is associated with the season (i.e. Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, Patriotic, etc) you choose. Or, you can create a card for birthdays, weddings, or events you need that occurs during the season you choose. Each card must have at least one bird. While ODBD stamps are required, an ODBD bird image is not required even though ODBD has a lot of bird images. If you have an ODBD bird image then by all means use it. We would love to see what you create using  Our Daily Bread Design stamps!

For my card, I am using ODBD  In God We Trust and God Bless America (sentiment) stamp sets.    I decided to go with a transitional summer to fall patriotic theme with Labor Day just around the corner!  I stamped the the image of the eagle and colored.  I then masked the sentiment and stamped so that it would fit into the circle.  I am using the sketch from Truly Scrumptious: Sketch with optional buttons, bows, and brads.   I used the distressing tool for the edges around my focal piece.  I used a charm, a button, ribbon, and gold pearls to finish my card.  I am using the Moxie Fab World: Tuesday Triggers for my inspiration. I tried to convey some of the fabulous patterns and textures while leaning more to the lighter side of the amber and teal colors.  I used Tim Holtz distressing tool around the focal image edges.  This card is also for the Spectacular Sunday Challenge Buttons and Bows!  I used some of my fav seam tape with a layer of champayne silk ribbon underneath.  I only used one button, but I used gold thread to attach my cross charm to the button.

Check out the other ODBD designers created with the Birds of Seaons challenge!

As always thanks so much for stopping by!

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC80) , CC284, and MORE!

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC80)! Silke Ledlow is our challenge host. She is challenging us to a color scheme! This one is not only easy and fun, but the colors are sure to make a beauty. Simply make a card using the four colors of hot pink, soft yellow, kraft, and black that are listed in the picture and link it here! While Flourishes stamps are not required, if you have them by all mean use them! We would love to see what you create!

For my card I am using Flourishes Nasturtiums and Falling Leaves stamp sets.  I decided to make a round card.  I used my CM cutting tool to cut out a 4.5 circle.  I can hardly wait to get my hands on some of the Spellbinder's Grands!  Anyway, I used two patterns of some Basic Grey kraft collection.  I divided the circle with some black braid trimming.  I used a sizzix shape for the main sentiment and a punch for the second sentiment.  I shadow stamped the main sentiment first with black ink then with hot pink.   I added a decorative pearl flourish to the main sentiment. I also created a trifold back for it to be a free standing circle card!   I lightly sponged the edges of both sentiments and the kraft cardstock with Memento sand ink.  This card is for the following challenges:

BasicGrey Challenge: Week #26 BasicGrey and Pearls
The Shabby Tea Rooms Week #23 Inspiration Challenge (Both cards apply- picture at left)

This card is for today's SCS Color Combo Challenge(CC284)!  Always Cherry Pink!  Check out the the link to find out about the dessert option!  This card is also using the Midnight Madness Sketch (MMSC67)! Fabulous sketch!  For this card I am using Flourishes Dove and Holly stamp set.  I am also using Champagne net ribbon with gold wire bow and curly ques.  If you have not tried this net ribbon before you really should check it out!  Amazing stuff!

As always thanks so much for stopping by!  I do apologize for the long post, but it is the first cards I have posted  to my blog in a week!

Check out the other blog team designers to see what they created with the sketch!

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC79), CC283, TSTR22, and Kids at Play!

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC79)! This week Cindy Haffner is hosting. She is challenging us to a sketch she has designed. As far as sketches go, there is not much of an explanation necessary. You can turn it and modify the shapes to fit your size card, but in the end, it should still look like the sketch. Good Luck!!! We cannot wait to see what you create with it!

This card is also for SCS Color Combo Challenge(CC283)!  This week it is all about Baja Poppy Cakes!  The dessert option you must read to believe!  LOL!  Check out the link to play along with  us!

This card is also for The Shabby Tea Rooms Inspiration Challenge(TSTR22)!  Since my top card is all about color, I decided to play off of the mirror and lighted candle effect.  I totally went over the top with my bling!  I heart my card, though.  A bit different for me, but totally shabby chic funky!  LOL!  This card is also for this week's Pile It On Challenge(PITC31)!  "Little Bit Country...Little Bit Rock and Roll!"  I am totally flying rock and roll with this look. The sentiment reminds me of the song "Listen to Your Heart" by DHT...one hit wonder, but I still heart the song! It also complies with Simon Says Challenge!  Sing It!  Since I used a heart it is also for City Crafter Challenge Blog CCCB Week 17!

For my card I am using Flourishes Lace Heart and Beauty Within stamp sets!  I am using Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock, gingham ribbon, and Memento lady bug and rhubarb inks.  I am also playing Flourishes release challenge Kids at Play (FLLCAUG10)!  I layered various textures and bling detailing.  I stamped my lace heart, used crystal effects, then added some more flourished bling.  My sentiment may me think of playing Hide and Go Seek game because you have to listen with your heart.  It is so quiet and dark.  Then, after my card was complete, with the blue flourished bling coming from the peak of the heart, it made me think of a kite.  So, that is another fun kid's game.

Check out the other blog team designers to see what they created with the sketch!

Blessings to You! FS183 and ODBD Sunflower Die Cuts!

This card is for today's SCS Feature Stamper Challenge(FS183)! Congratulations, Vicki!  Here is Vicki's card I chose to CASE!  I am using one of ODBD newly release sets called Harvest Blessings and one of two new matching stamp set die cuts.  This die cut is called Large Sunflower Die.  I put together a mini picture tutorial just to show you how these dies are so amazing and different from anything I have seen!

The image to the left shows the stamped sunflower garden that has been colored already.  It also shows the green tinted die cut guide and the Sunflower diecut.  You can click onto the picture to see it larger.

NOTE:  The green tinted die cut guide actually peels away revealing a clear guide.  However, I chose to leave it this way because me and clear do not get along very well.  You can decide, but I like the green so I can find it easily if I set it down.  Also, wanted to add that some of the peel aways are not green.  The color varies from the manufacture.  The die cut guide is clear once the film is peeled away.

The image to the right shows where I have placed the green tinted guide

over my colored image and lined it up where I want to cut.  The image on the left shows where I  used a marker to fill in the registration circles on either side of the guide. I chose blue so I could see the marks easily once I removed the guide.

I remove the green tinted guide and place my large sunflower diecut over.  I lined up the blue dots that I colored in before.  I added yellow arrows so you can see.  I then die cut the image.  Notice that this die cut has tiny holes in the back that allow the very detailed cut image to release easily.  Awesome detail!

The image to the left is all of the product with the die cut cut out.

Below is a close up of the sunflower diecut on my card.  I used dimensionals so I could have a popped up sunflower garden.  LOVE that!  Easy Peasy and Beautiful!  I am so excited about these die cuts!

This card is also for Friday's SCS Free 4 All Challenge(F4A24)! I went with a sunflower garden! It is also for ODBD Shining the Light Challenge(ODBDSLC24)! We are to use three of something. I chose to only use three words of my sentiment. I masked it and just used Blessings to You!

As always, thanks so much
for stopping by!

Stamping In Time Challenge(SNTODBD15), TSTR21, and ODBDSLC23!

It is time for Stamping In Time on Assignment Challenge(SNTODBD15)! The assignment is ODBD stamps. It is time for another challenge! The assignment is ODBD stamps. The challenge is use your favorite "go to" sketch! This is your never fail-need a card fast kind of sketch. By sharing your "go to" sketch we can all collect a selection of wonderful sketches! Have fun with this one! Your card will be enough no drawings necessary! We would love to collect your sketch and see what you create using Our Daily Bread Design stamps!

This card is also for The Shabby Tea Rooms Inspiration Challenge(TSTR21)!   I stayed with the same color scheme of soft yellows and blues, and added a smokey gray because of the fence behind the home.  For my card, I am using ODBD  Jesus, and  Scripture Collection 3  stamp sets.    I stamped the the image of Jesus using so saffron.  I then stamped the scripture in smokey shadow over top.    I layered square and oval spellbinders nestabilities.  This is pretty much my "go to" sketch!  A 5.5 square card.  I did try to make it an A2, but it was not working for me so I started over.  I do vary the focal image a bit from time to time.  This time it is an offset oval in a square. I am using two different cuttlebug embossing folders.   The top one is one of the newer 5X7 sizes! This card is also for ODBD Shining the Light Challenge(ODBDSLC23)!  Ribbon, charm, plus one other embellishment.  I chose pearls!    The double heart charm was a gift of charms given to me by America!  Thanks so much!

Edited:  I edited my card and added a pinned on charm.  I did not like the way it was just stuck to the ribbon with the silver pearl on top.  My initial thought was to pin it on, but decided against it.  Once I saw today's SCS Ways to Use it Challenge(WT282), I decided I should do it that way.  Here is a small picture of the  redo.  If you want to see the same card in full check it out here.

Check out the other designers to see what they created using their "go to" sketches!

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC78) and CC282!

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC78)! This week Dee Jackson is our host. Dee is challenging us to a limited supplies challenge. The limit? NO Embellishments. What does this mean? It means that we let the image we use speak for itself. We CAN use ink, stamps, paper, punches, die cuts, and coloring tools. We cannot add rhinestones, prima flowers, buttons, pearls, ribbons, brads, etc. We would love to see what you create with this limited supplies challenge.

This card is also for today's SCS Color Combo Challenge(CC282)!  Blushing Riding Expresso! Check out the link to find out how to play along and what the dessert option is!

I colored and cut out the larger gerber daisy arrangement.  I soponged the over with palette toile pink then stamped over the sentiment with the clouds background with the toile pink.  I added the MS butterfly punch as my final detail.  I used the blushing bride dp from the level one pad!

Check out the other blog team designers to see what they created with NO Embellishments!
