Flourishes Bring Back Beautiful BBB23!

Welcome to another month of Flourishes Bring Back Beautiful Challenge!  (BBB23)!  This month is all about The Beauty of a Rainbow!  Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet -- combine all and you have
the colors of the rainbow! For this challenge, show us how you can combine at least three of those hues to celebrate The Beauty of a Rainbow on your card or creation!  Remember, too, that while we spotlight three true beauties  winners per challenge, our FAVORITE entry this month will also be asked if they would like to join the team for the August Challenge!

For my card today I chosen to go all guy with the colors of the rainbow.   Muted earth tones in hues of golds, greens, blues, and a touch of red.  With Father's Day just around the corner, I am in need of a few cards.  I am using Flourishes Guiding Light stamp set.

I used Flourishes Classic Ivory card stockI used the lighthouse image stamped with Memento Tuxedo black.  I inked the main sentiment with some navy ink.  The Happy Father's Day was inked with Memento Rhubarb Stalk ink.  I ink disressed the edges with Ranger Brushed Corduroy ink.   I layered the focal image with a Spellbinder's die.  I added textured to it using one of the newly released Spellbinder's M Bossabilities folders for a more rugged distressed look around the edges since you cannot actually see the pattern itself.

I finished the card with some sewing machine stitches, paper distressing, and Linen Burlap  knot topped with an oxidized antique gold button crest from my stash for a more manly effect.

I use Ranger Ink Blending tool, replacement foam, and Ranger inks to slightly ink distress the edges of all my card  stock and designer papers.  I also use Scor tape as my main paper adhesive.  Love this stuff.

As always thanks so much for stopping by!  Make sure to check out all the other beautiful creations from the Bring Back Beautiful Designers!

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC121)!

Happy Tuesday! It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC121)!  Silke is the challenge host this week.  Silke is challenging us to create a Father's Day card.   We would love to see what you create!

For my card I am using Flourishes Antique Map, Beach Life, and A Guiding Light stamp sets.   I am using Flourishes Classic ivory cardstock.  My bottom layer is expresso and I textured it with a sizzix plate.  I paper pierced the edges with the sewing machine without thread, and I distressed the edges with a ranger distressing tool.   I stamped the antique map and sponged the sides with Ranger vintage photo ink. I distressed the edges.   I wrapped the mapped panel with the expresso textured section behind the map several times with ivory twine and topped with sentiment tag and button.  The palm tree image was inked with Memento cocoa and ripe avocado inks.  I sponged the edges of this panel with vintage photo ink as well.  I backed it with expresso cardstock and foam dots to make it pop a bit.  I added a few gold pearls to mimic some coconuts and to add some detailing in the corners.  I lightly stamped a script font over the main image with some Ranger antique linen and touches of the map panel.  For the most part, I kept my Father's Day card pretty simple.

For my card I am using Flourishes Thank You and Country Charm Labels sets.  Flourishes Thank You set is one of my first Flourishes sets and is still one of my favorites.  I just love this tulip image and the script stamp background.  I am using Flourishes Classic ivory cardstock.  I colored my image with Flourishes Copic Color Collections.  I stenciled inside the oval die with Ranger antique linen.  I used one of the pennant strips from Nested Lacey Pennants for the sentiment tag.  I am using the sketch from Your Next Stamp Challenge!

Flourishes FTTC, SCS CC, and MORE!

Happy Tuesday everyone!  It is time for Flourishes FTTC113!  Dee is the challenge host this week. She has chosen  "flowers flowers everywhere" for  this week's challenge!  You can interpret that any way you choose provided, of course, you use a flower.  We would love to see what you create! I am using the colors from SCS CC318!    This week is so saffron, pretty in pink, and pear pizzazz.

For my card I am using Flourishes  Cherry Blossoms and Spring Is Sprung (sentiment) stampsets.  I combined the set with some of the NEW in stock Spellbinders.  I am using the Fleur De Lis Rectangles and Labels Twenty. I stamped my blossoms with Memento tuxedo black onto Flourishes Classic white cardstock.  I colored with Flourishes Copic Color Collection.  I layered onto Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock.  I added some cotton-lace trim and seam binding/bow.  I softly sponged inside my spellbinder dies.  I used some gold pearls to frame my frames!  I finished my card with pearl/gold button, corsage pins.

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC88) SCS CC292, and MORE!

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC88)! Silke Ledlow is our challenge host this week. Silke is challenging us to ink and edge distressing. Ink and distress the edges of your cards to add dimension and texture. We would love to see what you create!

These colors are for SCS CC292:  Pirouette Red Pizzazz!  I am using the sketch from the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 88(SSSC88)!  Great sketch, Karen!  We are distressing the edges! I am also giving you a bit of a sneak peek at a new set called Christmas Classics!  This set will be released this week.  Just wait till you see the samples by the SDT!   I chose to make my card a bit vintage/shabby chic with the distressing.  I am using one sheet of the new BasicGrey Jovial dp.  I stitched around the edge.  To keep it light and add a bit of whimsy, I chose to make one zig zag border with the framing.  I used Memento tuxedo black ink and stamped my image of Christmas stockings onto Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock.  I colored with Flourishes Copic Color Collections. I sponged and distressed the edges and layered with Spellbinders Lacey Squares!

Now, for the fun stuff like my bow.  I had a moment.  Actually, it started when I went on a little spending binge in the Flourishes store.  Happy!  Happy!  It looks like I really wanted to use ALL of my new goodies.  LOL!  I chose a few.    First of all, I started with this wonderful May Arts White/Red Iridescent ribbon.  Can I scream yummy loud enough for you?  I do not think so.  This is one of many luscious ribbons that Flourishes sells by the yard.  GET as much of it as you can.  It is a must have!  There are different colors in the store, too!  GASP!   I dyed mine to make it more ivory and shabby chic-ish. I just mixed some ranger ink refill into a bottle with some water and sprayed on the ribbon and waded it up. I used my heat gun to dry.  I kept wadding and scrunching as it dried to give me more of a messy look(technical term).  Next, I layered May Arts Curling Sparkly Ribbon over my dyed ribbon.  Again!  Another must have for the holidays.  It comes in silver, too!  To this I added some bowdabra wire and my sentiment tag.  The sentiment is one of several that come in this new set.  I have to mention something else that is fairly new in the store.  It is these awesome Metal Nailhead Stickers.  The one I am using is the Light Gold nailhead stickers!  I wish I had purchaed more of these.  I guess if you all hop over there and buy then all up, Flourishes will just have to buy some more, huh?  Must haves I tell ya!

Be sure to check out the blog team designers to see what they created with the ink &  edge distressing.
