Hello friends! I am popping in with a mixed media card to share today.
I am playing along with Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge, and Kathy Rac's 30 Day Coloring Challenge.
For my coloring, I used Ken Oliver's Color Bursts Brights Assortment and Earth Tones Assortments. I have had these concentrated microfine powders for awhile. I have played around with them a bit, but never created anything. I decided it was time to create a mixed media styled card.
I started with watercolor paper. I created the layered splotchy ink panels first using shades of greens, shades of yellow, then the ultramarine blue background panel. I found that the biggest help using these inks was to use a pipette. I sprayed the panel with water, dropped in some powder, then used the pipette to suck up water and color to move somewhere else on the panel. I felt the pipette gave me more control. I used my heat tool to dry before adding more colors.
Once the panels were dried, I stamped the sunflower images and stems using Simon Says Stamp Summer Flowers stamps and dies with Memento tuxedo black ink. I colored the centers of the images with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I added some shimmer pen to the centers once they dried. I die cut the images and added the flowers to the ultramarine background. I popped up the panel using white fun foam.
For the sentiment, I used Beautiful Butterflies stamp set to white embossed onto black card stock. I die cut with a banner die and added to the top of the card. I added the panels to a top folding select white cardstock base.
Here is a list of many of the products I generally
use every time I make a card.
As always thanks so much for stopping by!
