ODBD Stamping In Time Happy Easter and MORE!

Welcome to Our Daily Bread Designs Stamping In Time: On Assignment Challenge(SNTODBD32)! The assignment is Our Daily Bread Design stamps.  The challenge this rotation is all about EASTER!  We are making Easter cards or projects with a twist.   ODBD has recently released a beautiful ensemble of New Easter sets that can work beautifully with past released ODBD Easter sets.    Also, our April Release sets and dies can be used to create beautiful Easter cards or projects as well.  The choice is yours.  The twist is to share with us one of your more memorable Easter Sunday's or Easter traditions.  We look forward to seeing what you create using ODBD stamps!  Remember, the more you play the more you increase your chance to win!

For the Easter themed challenge,  I decided to create an Easter home decor item.  I am using the newly released Bird and Butterfly Labels  stamp set (designed by our very own Dawn Lusk) with Labels 18 die cut.  I also combined it with He Is Risen, Eternity and Elegant Oval die cuts, and Butterfly die.   My mobile measures 18 inches in diameter. I chose as the focus of my creation and at the heart of Easter the scripture John 3:16.  For God so LOVE the World that HE GAVE....    Giving is at the heart of the Christian faith.

Here is alittle bit of direction on how I made my "pennants in the round" Happy Easter mobile.  I decided to give my fabulous Grand Calibur a workout for sure with this project.  It is fairly simple in design, but I like to layer a lot of my die cuts to give them more weight...so twice the cutting.  No worries, though!  The grand calibur was up for the job!  I started with a basic lacey pennant design. I cut out 11 chocolate chip  lacey pennants, and 11 various patterns from the Prima Madeline collection dp.  I glued these two layers together and inked the edges.  I layered all my pennants with tips only around the edges of the largest Grand Circles die cut.  I layered another circle over top.  I looped my ribbon around and  sandwich inside.  I layered a large grand circle in chocolate chip behind so from the back the mobile is all chocolate chip.  I added a chipboard circle and covered it with the taken with teal color for the largest top layer.  This added weight makes the mobile more solid in structure.  I then, added various layered circles from the Grand Circles collection.  I finished with a piece of Prima Madeline collection dp for the top portion.  Note:  I recommend stitching the inner tip of the pennant to the circle to keep it stable while hanging.  I noticed while trying to photograph that the pennants weight may the pennants want to slip a bit.

Next, I stamped the image from  Bird and Butterfly Labels stamp set 11 times using various momento and ranger inks that coordinate with the Prima paper.  I die cut and embossed with the  Labels 18 die cut.  I also cut out 11 taken with teal Labels 18 die cuts.  I cut these at an angle in half to create a faux layer behind each of the images.  I used foam dots for dimension to adhere to the pennnants.  I then stamped the frame from the Eternity stamp set and used ODBD Spellbinder's custom  Elegant Oval die cut to cut out and emboss.  I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp my scripture from  He Is Risen  perfectly inside the frame. I layered with the largest frame from Labels 18 die cut.  I die cut the Butterfly die with ivory cardstock and a pattern piece from the Prima paper.

My lettering was my least favorite since I do not own any die cut letters.   Not to mention that I do not own any letters that I think look regal enough to accompany Spellbinder die cuts with the embossing.  I think it would be wonderful if Spellbinders released alphabets that we can emboss, stencil, and layer.  Can you imagine small and grand in size with Spellbinders detailing, textures, and look?  The possibilities are endless!  Wow!  For this project I had to use some gold chipboard stickers.   I finished with a matching bow with button and added gold pearls. I also added a few gold pearls around my pennants.

Let me know what you think since I do not do many decorative items.  As always, thanks so much for stopping by!
