LOVE You!

Happy Friday!  There is no school today since we have snow coming in this morning.  It is also why I am still awake at midnight.  I had some time to get crafty.    I am back with another card for Papertrey Inks 9th Anniversary Celebrations.

My card is for PTI Challenge Day 5.  Sampler Square Challenge.  I read the rules for the challenge.

Create a new card
 that features nine 1-1/2" squares,
each altered in a different way.
Mount them all onto a 5-1/2" x 5-1/2" square card base

I did all of this on my card.  However, nowhere in the "rules" did it say ALL or the WHOLE of the squares had to be showing.  This is the layout and look I came up with.

For my card,  I started with 9 squares cut with watercolored paper.  I used PTI With All My Heart stamp set.  I stamped the letters in versamark, white embossed, and watercolored with Ranger Distressed inks.  For the four background squares, I used PTI Simply Framed set.  I stamped the grid image, white embossed, and watercolored each square differently.

I mounted the layout to a PTI white linen panel, added some loose threading, and a few sequins and my card was complete.

Before I go, I wanted to show you an alternate version of the same card.  The only thing I changed was the "YOU" square.  This version has more yellow/gold tones with a lot more white showing.  I could not decided which one I liked better really.  Which one do you like better?

As always thanks so much for stopping by!

Betty

one a little bit better, the gold brings in another color. Gorgeous!

  8. What a creative design with your grids Betty! I think I prefer the red YOU - with the dark color it stops the eye there at the edge of the card. with the yellow - your eye kind of justs floats right off the card! (imho!) have a great weekend - hope you didn't get too much snow! Julia xx
